Loved it! I would have loved that it created recurring tasks. So, when I complete the task, it automatically generates one for the next week, it allows anyone in the firm to action tasks when I'm not around.

Hi Kelly, thank you and the Xero Dev team for setting this up. I'm using it already and the ability for Payroll actions to appear is great! No more clicking through menus to approve timesheets or leave requests.

For future enhancements: Can we please add a hyperlink to the description or title?

Is there a way this can be open to users who have access to sales and purchases?

As other have noted, it would also be more useful if ALL other widgets worked with the Tasks widget correctly.

VAT actions are also missing, along with draft invoices/bills to approve, not to mention other things I've noticed that I can't remember right now (it was something I missed scanning the new layout and also wasn't flagged in the task widget).

Having accounts with payable amounts (e.g. wages payable, etc.) would also benefit from being flagged if the system knows that payments are being handled manually (i.e. there's no bill pending - which should report as a task anyway - or wages payments wasn't handled via open banking, etc.).

Overall it feels like the Tasks widget could have been a game changer, and yet it seems to report ~25% of the actions that need to be taken.

Perhaps having some form of task priority would help. For example, overdue bills over 30 days are a high priority, overdue bills under 30 days are normal priority, and draft bills are low priority - and we can adjust the view of this widget to display, for example, in date or priority order.

Missing information, changes in banking, unknown deposits or checks would be great by practice client. Also to have a general overall to do list with dates your promised projects to be done, or dates to import information. Totally a necessary item to add on.

This would be an amazing feature. Saves having to enter reminders/tasks in other platforms for items solely pertaining to Xero :)

I would also really appreciate reminders not only for Clients or Suppliers, but specifically email reminders when invoices are due. It does not have to be daily, weekly reminders would work perfectly. It would also be great if these could be grouped together, so there is no need for individual reminders for each invoice.

In addition, I would like the ability to create general notes or reminders in one central place within Xero, something like a dashboard or shared reminder section that is easy to access.

I like the new layout, it's good that you can delete anything you don't want to see there and move the tabs around. I like the idea of tasks but it would be great if you can extend this to have a shared note feature there for the team so that we can communicate priorities/tasks/actions. If this is a step too far then even a non-shared freestyle note section would be good to note other tasks there. Thanks

I came to this section request exactly the same functionality. It would be great to be able to create my own task list and reminders so that next time I log in it would be all there in one place for me (or notes for anyone else if I’m not available)

This would be great! I was imagining a To-Do list of sorts so that we can leave notes/reminders/tasks for ourselves and other users to see when they login. Even better if individual tasks can have an option to assign to a particular user and an option to mark complete. We are starting to train one of our staff members to complete quotes and invoices so this would be a really convenient platform to use instead of sharing a google doc back and forth.

A widget with Calendar, date and time with editable task timeline and appointment scheduling within the widget for better flow of task execution. While this idea can be done on an other external app, i believe integrating this within Xero homepage will give the users access to almost everything needed to run a business under on single roof.
