tracking catergories pulled through to xero partner hub
We have come across a couple of issues with how a Xero subscription has been set up for MTD and pulling the data across into Xero partnerhub.
Some of our clients have more than one self-employment and use tracking categories to split the income and expenses for both MTD obligations. I have tried to prepare their 2025/26 tax return but its pulling through the data into one self-employment trade rather than the two that HMRC is expecting.
We have other clients that have share rentals, ie 50% each, MTD has an option to split the income and expenses between the two, but when you pull through the data into Xero partner hub, I am unable to split this out.
The only way currently to split out the different trades or portion out the income and expenses between tax payers is to manually enter the data into Xero partner hub rather than it feed through like the MTD returns. I feel that this function should be available within Xero partner hub.
