How could Xero improve the new Xero Workpapers solution?

Workpapers - Apply status options to the whole workpaper

The Status options (Completed, ready for review etc. ) apply to the whole workpaper, for example Current Liabilities. Is it possible to apply a status to each individual account within that workpaper, ie so that as you are reviewing you can mark each account as completed or rework required as you go, instead of the status applying all accounts within that workpaper.

    It is imperative to be able to see that the preparer, first reviewer and final reviewer can all see on each workpaper that the balances have been reviewed with this being summarised on the summary sheet. Each line should have a minimum of 2 tick boxes dedicated to each level of completer ie. preparer and reviewer. It would take a significant amount of time to work out who has approved what. Both the tick boxes on the individual sheets and summary sheet can be ticked by all levels so no control.

    Agree, on big jobs the prep and review time will increase significantly just by using these workpapers

    The changing of statuses is too cumbersome.

    The workpaper automatically changes from Not Started to In Progress. This is good.

    Once I mark all Accounts as completed, it should update the status from In Progress to Ready for review.

    If I untick any account (so now not all accounts are marked as completed), it should change the status to In Progress.

    Did BGL try out Xero's workpapers and then go away to plot how to build something less efficient?

    We have to be able to mark off individual accounts as reviewed/signed off...

    In a selected WP e.g. in current liabilities, there are "Super Payable" & "PAYG W". Once, we mark off both as completed, the Current Liabilities WP should be automatically marked as completed. Similarly, it should remove the status of "Completed" once there is any change in the individual workpaper.
