New Workpapers - Supporting Balance Column
I would like a supporting balance column for each workpaper so we can enter manually the balance from the supporting document so we can see immediately the variance to the CY balance if any.
Hi everyone, happy to update that we've released this change! There is now a 'Supporting balance' column, the previous 'Variance' column has been updated to 'Change' and we've added a new 'Variance' column where we updated the formula for to be the delta between the supporting balance column and the current reporting period 😊 Thanks for all your insight here and sharing the difference this would make for you.

A good step in the right direction bringing back Supporting Balance check off column. Hopefully more changes on the New Workpapers move in the same direction!!

I'm surprised that this hasn't come up – it's how the Classic Workpapers present balance sheet items, and besides, isn't the entire point of our workpaper file is to reconcile the balance in the accounts to the supporting documentation?

I find it incredibly frustrating that the NEW workpapers no longer has the option to enter a Supporting Balance.
In my eyes you work through a workpaper checking off items and agreeing to supporting documentation in order to reconcile things. If you don't have the option to enter a Supporting Balance how do you know all agrees or even that its been checked!!
I'd like to understand the reasoning behind why this was removed?
