  1. The new invoicing doesn't work properly with Projects! A disaster for me this morning - trebled the time it takes to do my weekly Projects invoices. When it falls over because it can't find the GL Code to use, and doesn't even have subtotal and total fields....did someone forget about that when they were adding all the new empty space on the screen and screwing the work flow up?

    Hi Karen, this does sound like odd behaviour and would be good to get a closer look into. I see you've also come into our Xero Support team and they've suggested booking a time to connect and share screen so they can see the behaviour occurring for you. If you can respond to them through your My Cases they can investigate this with you 1-on-1. Thanks

  3. Please change the location of the pop up message "default contacts have been applied". When creating a new invoice, the pop up message appears in the bottom left, but I'm trying to look at my contact info and enter data. The pop up box lingers too long and covers the information I need to enter, interfering with the data entry! This is frustrating every time when creating multiple invoices and I have to "x" the pop up message away each time, which then causes extra steps and takes longer.   4. Customer/recipient view of invoices on mobile should display price/quantity/VAT.

    Majority of our customers review their invoices on mobile browser. We use zero-quantity line items to include extra information/detail in our invoices, but the new format cuts out price/quantity/VAT when viewing an invoice on mobile, so these lines appear blank/empty.

    Other invoices, where customers want to review the price and quantity on their invoice, not just the line total, are similarly inaccessible.

    Understand that these areas have been removed to keep the mobile invoice condensed, but it now means key information is missing from the invoice, and is resulting in more…

  5. As a charity funded entirely by donation we receive the majority of funds via online bank receipts. Because the bank receipt is standard, I currently manually create a receipt for our donors in word which I can attach to the bank receipt transaction and email to the donor. This is very time-consuming and I think it would be a very easy fix to allow customisation as with invoices

  6. I have noticed that when you are preparing to send an invoice via email in Xero that you can now add new addresses in the TO, CC and BCC lines. This is great.

    However, I have noticed that ALL contacts are available to add here. It would be safer to only allow the contact email addresses associated with the contact name on the invoice. It is too easy to add the wrong address and potentially send invoice information to the wrong client.

    If other people needed to do this, perhaps a tick box could be applied to allow ALL CONTACTS…

  7. The Classic version of Invoicing used to inform you on the view of an invoice that was created from a Repeating Invoice when the Repeating Template had been deleted.
    The new version does not give you this information resulting in confusion and wasted time.
    Please see screen shots below.
    This is causing us a major headache as we have lots of Repeating Invoices that have to be cancelled and if a user isn't sure new invoicing doesn't help but allows you to go through the process of trying to delete the template again which results in an error.

    Hi Chris, we appreciate you raising this message with us. It's something our team have added to their backlog but want to be open that we don't have active plans for changing for the time being. We'll continue to monitor the feedback here and I'll share if there is any progress.

  8. New Invoicing - Show ABN details with Client details in the "To" section of the invoice. All other information is there for reference, excluding the ABN.
    To view the ABN details, you need to leave the invoice screen and go to Contacts.

When reviewing a payment for an invoice, you need to click 3 times to review the transaction details..going into 4 screens, as it's on a separate screen (1-invoice 2-payment 3-transaction 4-transaction details). It would be more efficient to have the transaction details screen build into the same screen as the transaction screen. I don't see a need for a 4th screen, especially when you have click to go back to the previous screens when investigating multiple payments.

  10. Recent changes have gutted our ability to operate under two distinct business names (Branding) under the same Xero account. Our Xero organization name and address is now included by default (and without the option to hide it) on Invoice emails and on Payment acceptance links. This was previously not the case.

    This completely breaks branding for us, and I'm not quite sure why this change was made. What is the point of having branding at all of we can't control what organization details are provided to the customer? Support suggested I open another Xero account. That's not an option -…

  11. Invoices have a Date field with the temporal resolution of YYYY-MM-DD (despite there being numeric values to support time as well).
    This field shows the date that the invoice is created. It would be wonderful if the invoices had a time field, with the timestamp that the invoice was created.
    Fundamentally, this is extremely similar to UpdatedDateUTC.

  12. Recently half of the emails I thought I had sent were 'unable to be sent'. I had no idea until I became worried why my usually reliable clients had not paid me on time. After looking I saw this message on the 'History' trail.

    My suggestion is that where an error occurs like this there is a significant error message signal e.g. a box comes up or things are highlighted in red and bold.

    Cashflow is the lifeblood of any business and if the system is unable to send an invoice this could have serious ramifications for Xero clients.

  13. Please remove the invoice amount from the "New Invoicing"

    This should be optional for set templates like the classic invoicing where you could turn it off and on. It doesn't look great and prefer the older layout of the emails where you could control the layout more.

Instead of the currently available [Week] option in the repeating invoice reference field, which only shows the week number of the year, for example '34', instead allow the option for custom text that includes the date. For example to enable the customer to understand that the invoice being sent is for work that was undertaken during week ending 18/08/2024, which you want to display as WE20240818, you could allow something like this in the reference field: 'WE[yyyymmdd]'. This mitigates the issue of customers having to work out the date that e.g. week '34' applies to when reconciling invoices in Xero…

We have 2 Shopify stores, one for our wholesale customers and one for consumers, however, unfortunately, we cannot connect both to Xero, which is extremely annoying and causes a lot of work for us behind the scenes. Connecting both will mean a more streamlined experience and make our Xero world much easier.

  17. When emailing a sales invoice which has a credit note applied, the basic email template text should quote the amount owed MINUS the amount of the credit note. The email is incorrect with regard to the amount owed, and customers often erroneously overpay.

    Thanks for your response, Elsa. If the user has access to the organisation you could share the browser URL of the invoice or bill you're on. This contains a transactions ID. The user would need to be logged into Xero and then when they go to that link it'd open that invoice.

    I guess the second part of your idea here when you mention the hyperlink - Is there somewhere specific or a method you're using that you'd want to share the link?

  19. On classic invoicing, when you click the account category space or the tracking category it would fill in from the contact default, or account default or some default. But on new invoicing it only fills in if you tab.

    Thanks for the added detail, Becky. This is good to know when sharing back with the team. While this may be something we look closer at down the line, I want to be open that we don't have direct change planned in the near term.

    Understand it's a few more clicks at present, potentially to save tabbing 8 time clicking on the Tax Rate column and then tabbing once may save a little time atm. Completely get it's not a resolve though.

    Account Team - Is it possible that this would be when you're copying an invoice to a new draft invoice? If so, and you select the same Contact defaults aren't automatically applied and you'd need to remove and re-add the contact on the new draft invoice to trigger defaults to be applied. Otherwise, I'd recommend raising a case with our team of specialists for a closer look as…

Invoices which have been created directly in Stripe are integrated with Xero so that the invoices import into Xero and then when payments are received, if payment is received via Stripe, this marks the invoice as paid to the bank account in Xero (which will then allow for reconciliation with the payment from Stripe) or if paid by a bank deposit these can be reconciled in Xero and will mark as paid in Stripe also.
