Verifactu is a mandatory invoice verification system in Spain, introduced by the Anti-Fraud Law, which seeks to increase transparency and tax control by automatically sending invoicing records to the Tax Agency (AEAT) in real time to prevent fraud. Supported invoicing programs must ensure the integrity, traceability and preservation of invoices, and include a QR code and the mention "Veri*Factu" in the document. Implementation is progressing, with the use of adapted software mandatory for taxpayers from July 2026.

  2. Instead of using spreadsheets, it would be very handy for Xero to have prepayment & accruals schedules built-in that act similar to the Fixed Asset function.

    For example, when you allocated a new invoice to the prepayment nominal, Xero would detect that transaction and add it to the schedule. At the end of the month, you access the Prepayment & Accruals screen, go to drafts, and fill out a form giving it the period with su[plier, start date, end date and number of days/weeks/months it lasts (this would determine how often a journal is created when ran).     Hi everyone, thanks for sharing your feedback on prepayment and accrual schedules. We appreciate you explaining how important this is for your month-end processes and workflow efficiency.

    I’d like you to know your idea's been carefully reviewed by our product team. They appreciate and understand the need for tracking revenue and expenditure related to prepayments and accruals, however at this time with other initiatives in the roadmap such as improving the bill creation and payment processes there are currently no plans for this in the pipeline.

    We’re keeping a close account of the support in this here, and will continue to review this opportunity within future planning. If there’s any progress made I’ll be sure to share with you all, here.

    Hi everyone, we want to share that we've released a change to history for each time an invoice is sent.

    Invoice history will now show the primary recipient email whenever an invoice is sent. This includes the initial and any subsequent send of an invoice.

    We appreciate this has been a pain point for everyone that's joined in the idea here and hope this visibility improves your experience in invoicing.

    We'd like to confirm how this works;

    • This record is only applicable from here on in, there are no updates to any historical entries for sending.
    • History will show the email of the initial recipient entered in the 'To' field any emails that you include as a CC or BCC option will not be shown.

    We do want to highlight, that while the email will be recorded in majority of cases, there are a few scenarios our team have picked…

    Hi everyone, appreciate your continued feedback on new invoicing. As mentioned in my last update we've now added a new Xero Central page for new invoicing.

    Along with updates to individual ideas on Xero Product Ideas, this page will become the single source of truth for key feature rollouts including:

    • what’s available in new invoicing right now,
    • timelines for features and enhancements going live in new invoicing, as well as
    • a comparison table between the classic and newer versions of invoicing.

    We'll be updating this page regularly.

    Relating to some of the more recent feedback there are some existing ideas that may also be of particular interest that you can join, like the ability to see the email the invoice was sent to in the history, or being able to see a timestamp, and reducing clicks and steps.

  5. Please leave the history of an invoice EXACTLY as it was in the classic invoicing.

    The new invoicing doesn't show the invoice that it was copied from or copied to and this is very important as a trail.

    I really don't understand why so many important features from the classic invoicing has been omitted.

    Hi everyone, as another step toward improving history of new invoicing you'll find you'll now see an entry when an invoice is sent, and the email address it has been sent to. 

    We appreciate this is something we've heard a fair amount of feedback on and we hope helps in your journey to using new invoicing. 

    We still have more enhancements on the way for history and I'll be back again when more updates land. 

  6. Currently we can refresh workpapers from the workpapers, working trial balance, manual journals and settings screen, but when we open a specific workpaper that button is no longer available. Can we have this when working in a specific workpaper. This will save us having to click back when we are making adjustments

  7. E-Invoicing in the UAE.
    This will soon be a requirement in the UAE with legislation to be passed on this.

    Hi Faadhilah, thanks for raising the idea about introducing e-invoicing specifically for the UAE. With the government’s timelines and deadlines coming up, we understand how important it is for businesses there to have a streamlined way to comply.

    Xero already supports e-invoicing in other regions where this has become a regulatory requirement. While we can’t share any definite plans about when or if this will be available in the UAE just yet, your idea status is currently Gaining support. This status means the community team has reviewed it, and now it’s open for votes and comments from users like you.

    Getting more votes and detailed feedback from the community helps bring attention to the demand and shows the product team where to focus next.   8. Quotes that have been Deleted are marked as Deleted but continue to be displayed in the Sales Overviews. There is no need to continue to display deleted items in the Overviews. They should be removed.

    Hi team, in the aim of transparency we have split this idea out from the original one here so we can get a better understanding of the interest for this change in each area of Xero.

    Being quite different features within Xero it's not likely that a change in one would be reflected in the other area at the same time. We will continue to track interest in removing quotes from the all list here and share if there are any updates.

  9. I don't want autosave on for invoicing - I use third party software to copy invoice details to a Trello Card, this is triggered when the invoice is saved.
    Auto saving will send the invoice info through to Trello before the invoice is complete, meaning not all the info will be sent to Trello.
    Are we able to turn off the auto save function in new invoicing?

    Hi community, as mentioned in my last post we want to keep you looped in on changes around autosave.

    Our product team has continued to focus attention on how we can make invoicing faster and more responsive to improve our customers' experience.

    We've now optimised autosave to require less processing power, leading to faster invoice loading and saving.

    While we don't have any plans to remove autosave, there is the possibility that we would make updates to improve experiences related to autosave in the future - I've provided links below to ideas that have been raised and remain open for consideration;

  10. It would be great to customise the SMS message that is sent to customers and set up templates to ben used at different stages. E.g initial send versus reminder/follow up

  11. At the moment, when we email a statement from Xero, the customer only receives a static snapshot plus invoice links that reflect the balance at that point in time. If a payment or new invoice is issued after we send it, we must send another statement manually for them to see the updated balance.

    It would be extremely helpful if Xero offered a secure link or customer-facing portal where each customer could view a live statement of their account at any time — showing all outstanding, overdue, and paid invoices in real time — without us needing to resend updated…

  12. Display the Credit Note/s applied to an invoice and payments made by date on a PDF document. Why is it that we can view these in the system but we cannot see this when printing invoices.
    It would be so helpful to have this for clients to view exactly what they have paid and exactly what credit notes have been applied to an invoice.

    If it is already on the systems for us to see, is it that hard to reflect this on the printed /emailed versions of invoices?

    Hi community, we appreciate the continued traction this idea's received, and do want to provide clarity and set expectation.

    Your feedback has been valuable in understanding the needs of using description only lines to; add subheadings, provide context for grouped charges, and ensure your invoices are easy for your clients to read and understand.

    To reconfirm, atm - You can add one-off description only lines as you enter an invoice. However, if you add detail to any other field the line will be treated as a 'financial' line and you'll need to include Qty, Unit price, Account and Tax rate.

    • We know some users have set up and saved inventory items for description only lines they commonly use, however as the item code field is used for inventory items the line of the invoice is treated as 'financial' meaning you'll then need to include Qty, Unit price, Account and Tax…
  14. When viewing the 90-day short-term cash flow projection, payments from our on-site shop show 90 days of predicted income. However, for customers with existing invoices in the system, only those invoices are displayed.

    The issue arises when customers have only 30 or 60 days of invoices, causing a drop-off in the cash projection after 60 days.

    Proposed Solution:

    1. Combine existing invoices in Xero with predictions for future invoices.
    2. Automatically remove these predictions when an actual invoice is entered into the system.

  15. New Invoicing - I need to print invoices regularly for counter sale customers. Using new invoicing it used to open a new chrome tab when you clicked Print PDF from there you could print or download the invoice easy.

    In a recent update (See link https://productideas.xero.com/forums/939198-for-small-businesses/suggestions/47646932-new-invoicing-print-pdf-option) the Print button now only allows you to Download invoices.

    Please revert to the old system where printing or downloading took the same number of clicks

    or

    • Change the current Print PDF button to read "Download PDF"
    • Add a new "Print PDF" Button that actually prints the invoice.

    Thanks everyone for your feedback on the invoice print option. We know how much our customers value efficient workflows, and appreciate you sharing your thoughts on how the current "Print PDF" button works. 

    For those of you looking for a smoother printing experience, a helpful workaround is to set your browser to automatically open PDFs in your preferred viewer after downloading. This can save you a few clicks in the process.

    In the interest of transparency, a direct print PDF functionality that go through the download step isn't in our development plans.

  16. ISO 8601, the international standard for date and time formatting (adopted in the UK), defines Monday as the first day of the week. In invoicing Sunday seems to have been adopted recently and I can see from another thread this was deliberate, but this is NOT UK standard and our calendars adopt a Monday start so will confuse all UK users. Maybe adopt a setting where the user can define the setting instead of trying to suit the whole world...

    You're right this was a brief change that was made in invoicing however in consistency with how calendars appear in other areas of Xero this has been changed back and we also received feedback for calendars to run Sunday - Saturday.

    While we will track the interest from others in this here we want to be upfront that we don't have any further plans for changing start dates of this calendar.

  17. Like in xero mobile app in Invoice we Have option to share Invoice via other apps by getting its Link (Even we can send that link to clients with SMS)

    Quote should have similar share option in app.

  18. New Invoicing should be the same as the classic in that it remembers default settings for emailing like sending yourself a copy and attaching files. Until this is resolved do not discontinue the classic invoicing setup.
    It's going to be very frustrating otherwise :)

    Thanks for your continued engagement with us through this idea, team. As mentioned in my last update this idea spans different areas that you see defaults automating and improving efficiencies in how you invoice with Xero. 

    Since my last update, we've released some keyboard shortcuts to help with navigation and entry in some areas of invoicing, and we delivered the ability to invoice to your contact groups within the new experience. 

    As mentioned while we don't have plans for changing the behaviour of the select options when sending an invoice, these are driven by your last selection, using web browser settings. 

    Recently, we made a slight change to the way defaults are applied when you copy and invoice for a contact. So, now when you copy and invoice to the same contact defaults from their contact will be applied to the draft invoice, which aligns with the way this worked…

  19. Kelly, the procedure to copy an invoice was improved, but it is still erroneous. We have tracking category (department) recorded in customer's settings. But for some customers we issue invoices with the other department tracking category.

    New invoicing does not copy that "other" category. When the invoice is copied, all customer's default settings applied to it. In my particular case, it is wrong. I do not want customer's default tracking category; I want a copy of the INVOICE with the correct tracking category. In short, the new invoice is to be an EXACT copy.

    Classic invoicing did not have this…

  20. When using the new style of invoicing, it is no longer possible to enter a customer payment which having to click on the receive payment option. Using classic invoicing, the fields to enter the payment are present on the invoice screen. The classic invoicing method is much more efficient when entering a large number of customer invoices, so it would be great if these fields could be added to the invoice screen on the new style.

    Hey everyone👋 Thanks so much for sharing all your feedback and keeping the conversation going here. We've been following along and considering changes around the process for adding payments in new invoicing.

    As we mentioned in our last update, while we won’t be bringing classic invoicing back, we're taking a close look at what made it work so well for you. The ability to quickly enter payment information without leaving the invoice is a key part of that.

    To address this, our product team is now working to reintroduce this functionality to the invoice page.

    We can’t share a timeline just yet, but we want you to know that your comments have been a vital part of this process. We’ll be sure to post an update here as soon as we have more to share.🙂
