E-invoicing - United Arab Emirates
E-Invoicing in the UAE.
This will soon be a requirement in the UAE with legislation to be passed on this.
Please can we as Xero users have a standard process template for this.
Hi everyone, thank you for supporting and sharing of your e-invoicing needs with us through Xero Product Ideas.
We appreciate those that have linked to our web page - I'd also like to confirm here that e-invoicing and VAT support for United Arab Emirates is currently in development working toward the ASP requirements.
We will keep you looped in on updates for this here, however want to confirm that we intend to have a solution available in the next few months.
I'll share as there are more details around the progress and how e-invoicing will work for your business with Xero.

I hope you are well.
I would like to check if there are any updates regarding e-invoicing requirements in the UAE and how Xero plans to support this.
As a subscriber, having clear information will help us plan ahead and ensure compliance. We would prefer to continue using Xero and hope that e-invoicing will be available as a feature within the platform, as transitioning to a new system is not an easy process.
We would appreciate any updates or guidance you can share.
Thank you for your support.

Is there any news on this? It is really important for us to have this function, otherwise we will be forced to change accounting systems, which we would prefer not to do, since we have been with Xero for a long time.

Dear Xero Team,
We would appreciate receiving a definitive update regarding your software readiness and commitment towards UAE E-Invoicing compliance.
This is a critical matter for all subscribers, as organizations must make strategic decisions regarding their ERP and accounting systems well in advance of the implementation deadlines. The absence of a clear roadmap or final decision creates uncertainty and limits our ability to plan, allocate resources, and ensure regulatory compliance.
We fully understand that technical and regulatory requirements continue to evolve. However, at this stage, it is essential that your customers receive a clear statement on whether your platform will support UAE E-Invoicing requirements, along with the expected timeline for development, testing, and deployment.
Given the significance of this compliance requirement, we request that this matter be treated with the highest priority and that a formal update be communicated to all subscribers as soon as possible. A delayed decision is forcing organizations to evaluate alternative solutions in order to mitigate compliance risks and avoid last-minute disruptions.
We look forward to your prompt response and a clear direction on your UAE E-Invoicing strategy.

This is critical. We will have to look elsewhere for a provider who can assist us.

This is now becoming very critical. If Xero are not going to support e-invoicing in the UAE, then we will have to look at other accounting packages and start migrating which is nt an easy task and often easier to achieve at year end. This original comment was posted in September 2025, it is now the end of April 2026 and we still have not had a satisfactory response from Xero. Please can we be given some information on how, if Xero is progressing with this issue?

I have already started making plans to migrate away my clients from Xero to another platform which is able to support a compliant template, e invoicing is also available. It took a 20 minute teams meeting to identify what was required and create a potential draft a template. I really am disappointed that Xero is obviously not worried about the loss of business and negative feedback this issue will create.

Ideally we can get a confirmation from Xero if they intend to provide this function by the deadline or not. If not at least we know where we stand and maybe one of the xero development partners could potentially build an intergration.

is there any update on this?
in order to be compliant there are at least two things required:
- uae central bank exchange rates
- einvoicing integrationif that cannot be covered by xero, it would probably not make much sense to continue using the product...

Team Xero, your silence on this issue is deafening. Really, this is not acceptable. There is a mandated date by which businesses have to go live with e-invoicing in the UAE. This is not optional; it is a government requirement. So YOU need to provide a solution asap. An update at this juncture woud be very useful!
