E-invoicing - United Arab Emirates
E-Invoicing in the UAE.
This will soon be a requirement in the UAE with legislation to be passed on this.
Please can we as Xero users have a standard process template for this.
Hi Faadhilah, thanks for raising the idea about introducing e-invoicing specifically for the UAE. With the government’s timelines and deadlines coming up, we understand how important it is for businesses there to have a streamlined way to comply.
Xero already supports e-invoicing in other regions where this has become a regulatory requirement. While we can’t share any definite plans about when or if this will be available in the UAE just yet, your idea status is currently Gaining support. This status means the community team has reviewed it, and now it’s open for votes and comments from users like you.
Getting more votes and detailed feedback from the community helps bring attention to the demand and shows the product team where to focus next. If you haven’t already, adding more context about how e-invoicing would affect your business day to day would be really valuable. The more insights the team has, the better they can understand the impact.
We’ll keep an eye on how this develops and share any updates when there’s news. In the meantime, your participation and support on the idea page really make a difference.

Dear Team, E-invoicing is a mandatory requirement and it's well needed by all the company who is using Xero. Appreciate your immediate deployment of the same as you have already supports in other region.

We're looking for e-invoicing in UAE but Xero doesn't support it yet. If there's no solution provided then we'd need to move away from Xero

Dear Xero, are there any updates on the e-invocing with the UAE? As one user commented, we would need to re-consider switching to a different accounting system if e-invoicing will not be available in the system. We have been XERO users since 2019 and we highly value the system in place.

this is extremely important - failure to implement will mean that most XERO users will be switching to a competitor.

This will affect multiple clients I have, and will mean that Xero will lose business in the immediate future. I have spend time bringing the majority of my clients to Xero, and feel it is a huge backward step if I am unable to maintain this because of a template problem.
Come on Xero! You are behind the curve on this. -

Hi Xero. My company's UAE entity is new, and hence, we do not want to be setting up a system where in the long run, we end up having to switch because Xero is unable to support the e-invoicing. Based on this, it would seem that Xero is no where close to even considering having the interface for this. Would that seem so?

I’d really appreciate any further status updates or developments on this, as the FTA deadlines in the UAE are approaching fast. Businesses need clarity to ensure timely compliance, and if e-invoicing support isn’t expected in the near term, we may need to evaluate alternative software solutions for our clients in the UAE.

Do we have an update on this ? I'd like to know if Xero has any plans in a timely manner so I can manage this with our clients accordingly.

If you do not support us with the e invoicing we will be forced to switch to other accounting softwares that are compliant. They also have more competitive pricing too. You removed payroll which complicates accounting at the same time you raised the subscription with 13 $ per month. I honestly believe xero is becoming pricy

All companies will be mandated to use e-invoicing, if XERO cannot provide the service, users will have no choice but to opt for a different software that is compliant.

Seriously xero is sleeping and not looking at the MENA market at all! All accounting software companies are gearing up for einvoicing whereas xero is least bothered
Despite raising it at multiple forums there is no concrete action nor a solution all we get to hear is not sure about the plans!
Really difficult in terms of running our practise in xero

As it is legal recuirement for UAE, if Xero wont become compliant, will be forced to change accounting system for all my clients.

Hi, I am currently looking into this for our company and as it will be mandatory it is critical for us that Xero will be compliant, otherwise we will have to look at options. We have already lost Payment Run as an option and Bank Feeds with Mashreq. This is something which we can't 'make do' and work round! Thanks

Hi,
Please update us on this as soon as possible as it will be mandatory requirement of UAE effective next year. Other cloud based accounting software companies are currently working to be in compliant on e-invoicing. And we as a xero user for many years now are expecting that Xero is working on this for us to be ready by next year's implementation.
Thank you. -

If XERO doesn't support the e-invoicing feature, we may have to select another service provider.
