New invoice templates do not hide foreign currency conversions
Ability in new invoice templates to hide foreign currency conversions like you could do with the prevoius templates.
3 votesHi team, I am very happy to say this is now possible in the new invoice template feature!
When you select Preview and edit invoice theme, you can then go to Content you can now successfully turn off the Conversion rate.
If you'd like to try this out before taking action in your own org, you can use the demo company to test it. 🙂

One-click convert quote to invoice
Problem:
When a client approves my quote, I waste time manually creating a new invoice and retyping all the line items.Solution:
Please add a "Convert to Invoice" button on approved quotes that automatically copies all details, client info, and line items to a new invoice.Benefit:
This would save hours of admin work and stop mistakes from retyping. Every other invoicing software has this.1 voteHi Ndzalama, if you open the Accepted quote you should see an option at the top to Create Invoice which will copy the contents of you quote into an Invoice as you're after here - See more info on this in Xero central.
If you're having any issues with this please do raise a case with our Xero Support team who can get more details and access to help. 😊

Invoices - Ability to generate job cards or work orders from invoices without pricing details
Hi Xero Team,
Many of our service-based clients would benefit from a “Create Job Card” option directly from a Xero invoice.
The job card should pull through:
Customer name
Address
Contact details
Invoice reference
Item descriptions
Quantities
NotesBut it should hide all pricing information, including:
Unit prices
Discounts
VAT amounts
Invoice totalsThis would allow employees and technicians to receive a work order/job card without seeing customer pricing, and would eliminate the need to manually recreate job cards in Word or Excel.
Thank you for considering this feature.
2 votesThanks for sharing this suggestion, Jeanne. We understand the request to create job cards from invoices without showing pricing. A Custom DOCX template can be created specifically for this purpose, with pricing and total fields removed.
When needed, you can temporarily change the invoice’s Branding Theme to the job card template, select Print PDF, and then change the branding theme back to the original one.
As this workflow is already supported, we’ve updated the status to Existing Functionality.

Contacts - Importing CSV to update contact file
When I create invoices, Xero uses the first name field of the primary person in the contact record as the name after “Dear”. I create my contacts by importing them from another system via CSV, but there does not appear to be any way to populate that field automatically on import. That means I have to manually edit the contact in Xero every time I create a new one.
As a developer, I cannot begin to explain how irritating that is when you are doing it for the 200th time.
1 voteThanks for clarifying this for me Peter, I really appreciate the detail. The good news is that you can export your Contacts to a CSV then add in the FirstName and LastName details and reimport the file to update the Contacts. You can find more information in our Xero Central article. But if you need an extra hand you can raise a case with our Xero Support specialists. 😊

Sales Register
Export Sales Invoice register with separate line for sales tax
1 voteHi Elias, sorry if there's something I'm missing from your idea atm it may be worth responding to my update with more detail if I'm not quite hitting the mark.
Right now, you could run the Receivable invoice Details report that offers the ability to customise the columns including a variation of ways to view the tax of lines of your invoices.
This report can then be exported to PDF, Excel or Google sheets for further analysis.

Reporting - P&L to allow "Compare With" periods by single tracking category
Currently the moment I select a tracking category to isolate, I am not able to compare to previous periods or add date columns to P&L reports. Am I missing something? This is critical for reporting - thanks :)
1 voteThanks for sharing this feedback.
While Xero doesn’t currently allow Compare tracking categories and Compare with periods to be used together, you can still compare periods for a specific tracking category option by applying it as a filter:
- Go to Reporting and open Profit and Loss.
- Select the required Date range.
- Under Compare with, select the number of previous periods you want to compare.
- Click Filter.
- Select the relevant tracking category and category option, such as a department, location or region.
- Click Apply.
- Click Update to run the report.
The report will then show the selected tracking category option across the periods you chose. This provides a way to review the performance of one tracking category over time, even though Xero can’t currently display multiple tracking options and multiple comparison periods in the same report.
For more information, see Profit and Loss report – Xero Central.😊

Removal of pre-populating the Who and What fields when reconciling/posting payments - Incomprehensible decision
Xero appears to have stopped pre-populating the Who and What fields when reconciling/posting payments. This is such a backward step in an accounting package that I find it hard to believe anyone asked for it or thought it was a good enhancement idea (and that it took priority over lots of other ideas/changes that would have had merit). Pre-populating saved a huge amount of time and mistakes/inconsistencies e.g. not having to look up the account number where previous similar payments had been posted to; not being able to see a default description that had been used on previous transactions; not…
1 voteHi Graham, thanks for raising this idea with us. I am happy to say that the option of 'memorisation' (prepopulating the who and what) is still available in the reconcile tab of the bank account. You have the option to turn this on and off at the bottom of the reconcile screen. If you are referring to another area in Xero please feel free to reply to this and let us know with more detail so we can review this idea further. 😊

Deposit and balance email template missing
Have the option to edit the deposit and balance email template globally in Email Settings
1 voteHi Antonio, thanks for sharing this idea. We understand the value of having different email messaging for deposit and balance invoices.
This feature is currently available in Xero. As mentioned in our article, you can create a new email template for Deposit and Balances. When sending email for an invoice, you will have the option to choose which email template to use.
If you need help with setting this up, our Xero Support team will be happy to assist.

Calculated total of outstanding bills in suppliers
I work in purchases and desperately want to see in the suppliers page where there are multiple bills, a calculation at the bottom of each column (Paid, Due & Total) rather than having to manually calculate each column. The reports page to get this information is too complicated and longwinded. Just show each column totals would make my job so much easier!
1 voteHi there, thanks for sharing this idea. At the moment, you can already view outstanding supplier balances in Business > Bills to pay or by running the Aged Payables Summary report. Opening an individual supplier contact will also show their current outstanding balance. You can refer to the screenshot below to see how this would look like in Xero.
I've updated this idea status to Existing feature for now. If the suggestions above does not fill the gap for you, please let us know where and how you'd like this information to display, and why the current feature doesn't fulfil your requirements.
