Invoice Report - Including account, date paid and method of payment
I want a payment report of invoice payments made into my bank account, the report would show date of payment, method of payment and actual .

I'd like to add a slightly different requirement to this request.
We have many clients and users who need to report on customer receipts and allocations, but the current reporting options do not provide the detail required.
The closest report we have found is the Account Movement Report, however it still does not solve the problem because it reports the bank transaction reference rather than the allocation details linked to the transaction.
What is needed is a report that is driven by the Payment Date and not the Invoice Date.
For example, if an invoice was issued in October 2025 but only paid in April 2026, the transaction should appear on the April 2026 report because that is when the payment was received.
The report should include:
Contact / Customer Name
Invoice Number
Invoice Date
Payment Date
Amount Allocated to the Invoice
Total Payment Amount
Payment Reference (where applicable)Most importantly, the report should show the allocation of the payment.
For example, if a customer pays R15,000 and that payment is allocated as follows:
INV-1001 = R5,000
INV-1025 = R7,000
INV-1038 = R3,000The report should show each allocation line individually while still linking them back to the original payment transaction.
This would also be extremely valuable for debt collection and accounts receivable users. In many organisations these users do not have access to the bank account or the bank reconciliation screen, yet they still need visibility of payments received and how those payments were allocated against customer invoices.
At present there is no simple way for these users to produce a report showing cash received during a specific period together with the invoice allocations that make up that receipt, without being granted access to banking functions.
This is a common requirement for debtors analysis, collections, audit support, cashflow reporting, customer account reconciliations, and management reporting. Existing reports provide pieces of the information, but not the complete picture in a single report.

In UK, the Office of Small Business Commissioner is working on improving payment times for small businesses, via the Fair Payment Code. To obtain an award under the code, you need to submit evidence that you pay 95% of all your invoices within 30 days (for small suppliers) or 60 days (larger suppliers). Currently there is no report in Xero that reports actual days to pay per invoice. I have been using the Payable Invoice Summary report with various filters applied (Payable Invoice, Paid) and exporting it to Excel where I manually add a formula to count the days between the invoice date and the Last Payment date. It would be great if this could all be done in Xero and exported as a pdf.
Note that this is Actual days to pay per invoice, not average days to pay.

Totally agree this would be extremely helpful and save alot of time when reconciling daily transaction reports. It has been nearly 2 years since this request was initially submitted and it looks like nothing has been done about it.

I need to supply an external application the payments that we have received so they can be marked off in that app - they need payment date, invoice number, amount paid, contact name.
The Receivable Invoice Detail report won't quite do it - it can't be run by paid date and it doesn't include the invoice number as a column to be selected.
The Receivable Invoice Summary report also is almost there, but it can't be run by paid date, and the amount paid is a cumulative total. I need a list of payments when partial payments are made against an invoice.
And a unique payment id would be great too. -

It would be great if we could run a report for payments actually made in an exact date range, therefore not payments that have been reconciled and marked as paid on a certain date but the payments that were actually paid in the bank during a period.
Currently there is no actual report that can be run and it seems so simple. Like a bank statement but with all of the details from the 'Bills to Pay' invoice section ie. Invoice no; paid date; description and amount.

I can't believe something this obvious isn't a thing. No, Payable Invoice Detail doesn't show this at all, as it only shows invoices not yet paid

I need this as a client is in UK but operating in Australia, so their Xero file is obviously for UK VAT, but if I could have this report it would make it much easier to pick up the relevant invoices that were paid in a defined period (regardless of when the invoice is dated) for Australian GST reporting.

I would really like to have a report available that has all of the payments received (for all contacts) and which invoices they belong to for a specific date range (a month generally). Currently the date range is only available for the invoice date rather than the date of payments received.

This would be invaluable at year end to add up the accounting fees paid (via our practice subscription) for each client, to confirm the tax deductionfor accounting fees.
It would also be very helpful for business to see at a glance the historic payment days. Ie. If a customer is regularly paying in 45 days instead of 14, it would help with customer priorities.

I hope there will be a report soon or an update with the receivable detail report showing how a sales invoice was paid (ex. bank, petty cash, other accounts with the specific name)
