New Invoicing - Copy invoice to keep existing email
Thank you for delivering to keep the existing contact when copying an invoice. Now when you email the invoice the email address is not populated from the contact file. You have to go and look it up to send the copied invoice.
Please refer to the contact details and pre-populate their contact email addresses.
Thanks
5 votesSorry Lynne, It's a bit hard to troubleshoot and get the detail to understand why your contacts details like email aren't coming through to your copied invoice. I've just tested this with Draft and approved invoices being copied and the email of the contact was bought through each time as expected. I'd recommend raising this with our specialist through the Contact Xero Support option in Xero Central for closer inspection.
Thanks for also checking on this, Olga - that message on defaults application is related to the Sales defaults saved against inventory items or the contacts record but doesn't apply to the contacts personal details. These should be applied when copying an invoice.
To explain a little more - The reason defaults aren't automatically applied is because the line item fields will be prefilled with the information from the existing invoice that the new one is copied from.

Some invoices are missing in Xero – Pabbly Connect shows successful execution
I’ve integrated Pabbly Connect with Xero to automatically create invoices. The workflow in Pabbly shows a successful execution, but not all invoices are actually being created in Xero.
Has anyone else experienced this issue?
Is there a way to debug what might be going wrong between the successful webhook execution and invoice creation in Xero?Additional Details:
The webhook receives all required data including customer, line items, and invoice date.
Pabbly workflow shows "Success" status after sending data to Xero.
However, when I check Xero, some invoices are missing entirely.
No error message is shown in Pabbly.
This happens only…
1 voteHi Maheshwara, things that don't appear to be working as they should are best looked into by our specialists at Xero Support you can raise a case with them through Xero Central.
Where you're using an integration we'd generally recommend also contacting their support team as in most cases they have designed and built their integration with Xero themselves and are in the best position to troubleshoot.

New invoicing | Files - support .eml file type
The Classic Invoicing allows .eml (downloaded emails) to drag and drop into invoices from downloads. The new invoicing DOES NOT allow this. Please reinstate this function to the new invoicing as it is an essential part of loading invoices (uploading (drag & drop) downloaded emails providing instructions and authorization evidence for auditors). Kelly, please confirm that this function will be continued in the new invoicing. Thank you.
2 votesAppreciate you highlighting this, Gemma - Understand what you mean with the .eml file upload within new invoicing.
I see you recently connected with our specialists at Xero Support on this who directed you here, however this would be best for us to investigate deeper with you. I've re-opened your case and our team will be in touch directly soon so we can get more insight into this one.
So, while I'll move the idea here to Not planned we're definitely interested to explore this further but best done 1-on-1. 🙂 Thanks

New invoicing - Move branding field to right and make consistent with Quotes
Please be consistent with the location of the "Branding Theme" field.
You have placed the "Branding Theme" field in different places, in the Quotes page it's on the right and in Invoicing it's on the left. Can you please put it in the same place consistently. As a user you learn where fields are and automatically go to them, so this is annoying.
My preference would be to keep it on the left.
Many thanks,

Sales | Refunds - Ability to process in bulk
We would like to upload a batch of customer refunds via csv instead of going in one by one to do a refund per customer per invoice.

Sales invoices - hold selection when navigating pages
It would be great if the awaiting payment area would allow more invoices to be shown, currently it only allows up to 200. Or if it had the ability to save the invoices you've selected for payment and you could go to the next page without loosing the invoices you had already preselected.
4 votesHi Sarah, there is a limit of including 50 invoices in a single batch deposit atm. Is there any commonality between invoices that you pay that could possibly be searched and bring them into the one page?

Sales Overview | Invoices - Add View Option similar to Bills UI
View Invoices in the Invoices menu - Add View Option
3 votesHi community, thanks for your insights on how this feature would be useful to you within Sales invoices. Being open we don’t have direct development for this planned atm, however our product teams are doing some more discovery in this space and we’d like to invite you to feedback through our survey here. Your input would be really valuable to the team as they get a deepened sense of our users for future improvements.

Repeat invoice - Create a placeholder for the tax year e.g. 2025/26
In repeating invoices we often use the tax year mostly in this format 2025/26 but also 25/26.
Whilst we can use placeholders [year]/[year+1] to give us 2025/2026 it is not ideal and this would need changing after the December invoices which is administratively the same as manually changing the tax year in the invoices at the beginning of the tax year.
It would be good to be able to use [taxyear] and not have to change it again.
This would be really easy to implement, therefore it probably will be overlooked. Here's hoping.1 vote -
Invoice payments - Search when allocating credit notes, overpayments or prepayments
Please add to product ideas to have
* allow search feature to allocation screen if the above is not possible1 voteHi Leonie, when you say allocation screen would this be when reconciling your bank account? Or another screen that you're referring to?

New Invoicing - 'Upload Files' and 'Add from file library' options switched
New Invoicing has switched the position of Add from file library and Upload files. Whilst this may seem a small change, users are familiar with the order from left to right and I personally keep clicking the wrong one. Changing this order has no streamlining purpose so can it please be changed back?

Invoicing - Ability to bill/charge a different contact
Some of my customers utilise my services through a scheme where their employer or a separate 3rd party will pay their invoice.
Often this same employer or 3rd party will be paying for many of my different clients and they will often pay me in one payment.Think of something like an insurance company paying for repairs on many different vehicles, or NDIS payments for the provision of health services to many different customers.
I quite urgently need a way to keep each customer separate so that I can easily retrieve sales history and data based on individual customer, and…

Sales - Calculate based on expected date and show totals like bills
Sales planned date like in bills to pay so we can select date invoice should be paid to us. Will help with overdue invoices and planning cash flow
6 votesHi Claire, you can add an expected payment date from the Awaiting payments list in Sales. Appreciate it's not quite possible from the individual invoice itself atm so have slightly updated the title of your idea here. If there's any plans of adding this here we'll let you know.

New Invoicing - Show quantity in Item drop down
You've finally forced us into the new invoicing. Lots of promises were made to fix what was broken with it. Unfortunately these promises are just as broken as the new invoicing. Here's what needs fixed:
When a new invoice comes up automatically set the focus to the name field so it's ready to receive data. Have to click on it.
Fix the date field. If I use the down arrow key it opens up the date widget But then using the left and right arrow keys should move the date off of the current date to either tomorrow or yesterday.…
1 voteThanks for your feedback, Randall. I want to assure you we're still working on features and improvements within new invoicing.
In order for others in community to know what they're voting for and help our product teams get understanding of the specific changes our customers would like to see it's best that these are tracked separately on product ideas site. There are existing ideas for some of the points you've raised here.
Relating to your point on the date field - I'd recommend connecting with our specialists to confirm the behaviour that you're getting and the specific date field this is related to. Once you press enter or space after opening the calendar widget you should be able to use your keyboard arrow keys to navigate the calendar.
I'll update the title of your idea…

Workpapers - custom tables do not export to pdf
Workpapers 'Custom Work Programme' custom tables do not export when - the space where they should appear is blank / incomplete.
We don't really understand why the workpapers would allow tables that cannot be exported, as from our perspective the purpose of workpapers is to guide and record preparation procedures followed.
From our perspective this is not a product idea request but rather an oversight or error that needs to be resolved.
1 voteThanks for your valuable input, everyone. We've heard your needs and have developed new Xero Workpapers with our customers front of mind. With the new solution you'll be able to include custom tables and worksheets, whether they're blank or partially completed in exports.
We'll be staggering the rollout with Australia first off, and will keep you updated of it's release as it widens here. In the meantime you can read about it on our Xero blog.

Online Invoice - Turn off CSV option
Be able to remove the csv file option when viewing invoices online. I have a template set up which gives a detailed description but only a total price as I do not want customers to see the individual prices. However if they view online and download the CSV they can see this detail. It only seems to happen when emailed to Gmail accounts as we don't include the invoice link in the email. I now have to put in 0's for each line item and manually enter the total amount.

Customer statement - add customised due dates
Customer statement - with a customised due date option.
The option to be able to email customer statements directly from Xero with a customised due date. Eg. Selecting email customer statements to 30th June and only invoices that are due up to the 30th June are generated and emailed (rather than everything that is invoiced on their customer card which in our case could be up to 12 months in advance).

Save and continue on draft invoice
New Invoicing - bring back the 'save and continue adding' button in drafts, a feature classic invoicing offered. When completing invoices with multiple lines it is imperative that it you can save during input without having to save and close. Especially now that the new invoicing is unreliable.
1 voteHi Meradene, as new invoicing also encompasses auto save there is no need to manually save your invoice. Once you've added a Contact, as you move between fields of your invoice Xero will continuously save any data you've entered.
It sounds like you may be having trouble with this though and if you're finding you're loosing information you've entered I'd really encourage reaching out to our specialists at Xero Support who can take a closer look to investigate what's going on for you.
