When you create an invoice the payment terms default to what is set for each customer (ie. 45 days from end of month, 60 days etc) however if you then change the issue date of the invoice, it defaults back to 30 days for every client regardless of their terms. We are looking for it to caclulate to each clients correct terms whenever the invoice date is changed

    Hi team, with some recent changes we made to the date picker in new invoicing you should find this is now working correctly for you. When creating a new invoice the default due date is triggered by the invoice settings, or where set for an individual contact this'll be the date used, also as noted in my update here - now if you update the issue date after a due dates entered, it does not automatically update the due date when you make issue date changes.

    If you're still finding any discrepancies in what you're expecting I'd recommend raising a case with our specialists at Xero Support so we can get more detail and confirm the behaviour you're getting.

  2. Ability to upload invoice lines into sales invoices (like journal upload) When you have to produce large multi line sales invoices the ability to upload from an excel file would be a huge timesaver instead of having to enter each line individually.

    Hi team, as noted earlier - You can import invoices with a CSV file. If you'd like to add multiple lines for the same invoice you just need to use the same invoice number for each row of the file. See our help and tips on the formatting of the file. 😊

  3. Need to be able to void/delete invoices on mobile app. (Not have to do it via xero on computer)
    VERY frustrating for clients who invoice daily from their phone and need to void or delete an invoice.

    Hi community, you can now Void Awaiting payment invoices through the Xero Accounting app 🎉 You can find steps on how to do this in Android & iOS on Xero Central.

  4. Currently: In new invoicing we are provided with suggested items when completing fields such as "To:".
    Using Enter at this points selects that highlighted suggestion, but using Tab ignores the highlighted item.

    Request: Enable Tab to be used in new invoicing to confirm a highlighted selection. The same function as Enter currently provides within this context.
    Tab is an active keyboard option in other areas of Xero such as Bank Reconciliations so this would keep the UI more consistent.

    Hi team, we recently made a change to the tabbing behaviour, so now when you tab to a field and highlight an option, tabbing to the next field will hold the selection that was highlighted.

    For example pressing Tab in the 'To' field will hold the highlighted contact, and move you onto the 'Issue date' field.

    Hi Alex, you'll find this is now possible. The different VAT rates used in the invoice will be shown as subtotals beneath the total invoice amount. With the updates that our team have made to the send experience your customers will also be able to see a quick view breakdown of this in the email they receive 🙂

  6. Ability to select a date that says payment is due upon receipt of this invoice. This is "due date" is used just as much as net terms of 30 days.

    Hi community, returning to the idea right now you could enter a Due Date that's the same as the Invoice Date (or set it to whatever the date is when the invoice is being approved and emailed).

    Additionally if you'd like to specify the text that appears (such as 'This invoice is due upon receipt') you could either:

    • Add this into the ' Terms & Payment Advice (Invoice and Statement)' on a Standard invoice template, or
    • Add this text into the Footer of the invoice template on a Advanced branding theme
  7. When generating a sales invoice for new contact to have the ability to add the primary contact name and email so that email can be emailed to primary contact name without editing the contact first.

    Hi community, sorry we've not looped into this idea sooner. You'll now find with new invoicing that you can add a new contact and their details, or edit a contacts details without having to leave the page. 

    When you add a new contact, this'll open the modal for the Contact card and from here you can add the Contact name, Email, Billing and Delivery addresses, and or phone number. 

  8. Option to Auto Fill Account, Tax Rate, Sales person for all rows. It gets quite time consuming to manually add for each line (even if it is a button at the top of the fields allowing auto fill of all, that would greatly help)

    Hi, Neilson, as noted in my last update, it sounds like Tracking is the most appropriate feature for auto filling your sales person in an invoice. You can add defaults for contacts that'll automatically populate the tracking column as you enter lines within an invoice for that contact.

  9. When sending an invoice from a mobile device, remove the “send me a copy” button, or at least let us make a one time adjustment to stop having to turn it off every single time.

    Appreciate letting us know how we could improve your flow when working from the Xero Accounting app, Joshua. Our team have just released a change for iOS to align with the Android behaviour.

    Now, when you send an invoice or a quote, the 'Send me a copy' field will be unchecked by default.🙂

    Hi team, we apologise for the delay in updating this idea - In December 2025 Xero began supporting Peppol eInvoicing for some EU countries including Belgium, Ireland, Malta, Austria, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czechia, Estonia, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Portugal, Slovakia, and Slovenia.

    Eligible organisations in these regions can now register for, send, and receive compliant Peppol e‑invoices and credit notes with Xero.

    Along with the countries above, Xero supports eInvoicing in Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom, Malaysia and Singapore.

    Looking forward, we’d like to get a good gauge of our users interest in supporting eInvoicing in other regions. It's best for us to track this for each region customers are interested in. We have existing ideas related to support for France and Spain that we’d like to point you to vote on, or please do create a new one for your region so we can begin to get a sense of…

  11. Automatically include PDF of invoice when sending it via Xero Network Key.

    Purpose: Some clients need to see the attachment of the invoice. It’s also good for audit purposes.

    Hi team, pleased to share that with the release of Xero to Xero in invoicing we've also provided the ability to include attachments with your invoice when sending, as well as the option to include a PDF copy of the invoice. See more detail on Xero Central.

    Currently this is live to all regions excepting Singapore which we're just doing a little more work to enable. I'll be back to share when Singapore users can also make use of this feature in Xero.
