  4. Not being able to enter an item # in quotes: This is a bad flaw in your software for people selling services and should be fixed. I People doing custom project services will not want to create new "products" every time they do a custom quote, they just want to add Item 1, 2, 3 and start typing work description

  5. Currently, to invoice from a quote = a standard invoice. There needs to be an option to create an repeating invoice also. This is consistent with the request to change a standard invoice into a repeating invoice also.

  6. Reports - Quote Summary pulls incorrect column references. Xero dont accept this is an error and think its a product enhancement.
    Currently when you produce a quote report you cannot have a column titled Quote Ref or "Quote date". Xero has a bug which is using "Invoice Ref" and Invoice Date". Obviously for customers of our business they get annoyed that we are sending them reports implying a quote has been accepted and invoiced rather than purely pending. Such a basic error in Xero but they just dont accept the error

  7. Quote Titles should show up in the reporting so that clients can see which projects they are looking at. This is much different than a reference which is typically a job or project number that the client needs reference to.

  8. Add feature to automatically follow up on quotes / send quote reminder *days before expiry or *days after quote issued — as there is with invoices. This feature comes standard with most other quoting interfaces.

    Hi community, we understand how being able to send quote reminders like you can for invoices, would help with following up on uncommitted work with your customers and potentially locking in sales.

    For the time being, as many will be aware you can resend a quote that’s already been sent, by clicking the 3 dot menu in the top right and choosing ‘Send’, where you’ll have the option to change the email and who it’s being addressed to.

    This is something we have intentions of diving into discovery for this year and I’ll return to share more news when things progress. Thanks

  9. Ability to block Quotes being raised/sent if a customer has reached its credit limit. Another tick box like the one for Invoices except this is for Quotes.

  10. I have found you are able to customise currency rates in Purchase Orders, Invoicing and Bills to pay, however you are unable to amend this in quotes.

  11. The Xero API will let you send an invoice by email - https://developer.xero.com/documentation/api/accounting/invoices/#emailing-an-invoice

    There is no equivalent functionality for Quotes, each needs to be send manually. This endpoint should be added in as well.

  12. Why is it that customers address details are not shown on the invoice and quotation listings. this is causing time issue problems
    These were shown in the classic view in invoices but not in quotations
    I’m my mind this is a retrograde step and needs reviewing

    Hi all, appreciate the interest around this. Being able to view a contact's address would be built separately for invoices and quotes. 

    We have an existing idea for this in new invoicing that you may like to add your vote and join across here - you'll see this is something we're actively working on. 

    I'll slightly adjust the title of your idea here to reflect the Quote side of things and we can keep you updated if there's any change for this. Thanks

  13. When creating an Invoice from a quote within Projects, the newly created invoice does not retain any connection to the Project that the quote is linked to. This is very annoying and time-consuming - as the only way to then link the Invoice to the Project is to manually select and assign every individual line item, one by one and map them against the project. Surely this is an easy fix to keep an Invoice linked to a project as the quote was? Why would you disassociate an invoice from a project that it directly relates to??

  15. Instead of having the client simply click on "Accept" quote, they should be prompted to actually digitally sign the quote. If there is for example two people as the contact, then both of these owners need to sign the quote for it to be accepted.

    Would love to see the autosave available for Quotes. Often my clients are distracted whilst creating Quotes and when they've navigated to another section (rather than opening a new Xero tab), the Quote disappears!
    For one of my clients, his quoting is very detailed and this process takes valuable time which he'd rather not have to repeat if the Quote is no longer there.
    Invoices are autosaved of course, once a Contact is entered, so I would assume that the same principle could easily be applied to Quotes....

    Hi everyone, we appreciate interest from you all here in being able to adopt autosave into Quotes. Across the board there are mixed reviews from users that would, and those that would not like to see this enhancement across Xero features.

    Right now, the current experience requires you to click Save on the quote before navigating to another screen in Xero.

    We appreciate there are other contributing factors to the need here like session timeouts and internet connectivity.

    Being upfront this isn't a feature we have roadmapped at this time, however our product teams are aware of the needs and interest of this here and will take this into consideration as they continue to plan the future of Quotes across Xero. If there are any plans to progress this we'll make sure to keep you all informed and updated through this idea. Thanks

  17. When a customer accepts a quote via the link the email is sent to the users email address - suggestion is to have it sent to the REPLY TO email address and / or the USERS address.

    Hi team, I know it's been sometime since this idea was initially raised and we wanted to update you all here.

    We appreciate and understand why some businesses would prefer the acceptance of a Quote be sent to the organisation's reply to email address, rather than the user that initially created the Quote.

    While our product team have reviewed and are attentive to your interest in this, we want to be upfront that this is not something we currently have direct plans for changing the behaviour of.

    Our team will continue to review this idea and when we're in a position to assess notification and communications for Quotes, we'll share if there are any updates around this, here.

  18. We have to disclose certain information when issuing quotes and it would be very helpful if we could choose a template that automatically adds documents to our quotes as instead we have to; create the quote; process it; go back into the quote; attach the files and then send this out to the client. We only have 1 business manager and this is very time consuming for them as their time could be spent elsewhere.

  19. Ability to remove value from online quote. This will allow templated quotes to be used where a total value isn't used and individual pricing is set per task. Dependant on the job there are specific rates per brick etc. Which is calculated at the end of a job bet the rate is set at the start therefore we need people to accept our quote (rates) but the total (quantity) wouldn't be determined until job completion.

    Hi community, while we appreciate your idea here we want to be open that we don't have plans for implementing this change any time in the near term.

    If you'd like to enter a quote with rates and no quantity an option could be to specify the detail of the calculation for jobs in the 'Summary' field.

    You could set up a separate branding theme to be used specifically for your quotes to alter which fields are shown, and when entering the amounts you'd use the Price field to signal the rate and leave the Qty. field as '0'. This means you'll still have a price set per line of your quote but the total amount of the Quote would be '0' and determined at the completion of the job when you copy the quote to an invoice and enter the Qty.

  20. Just like we can email a bill to Xero for editing and posting. I would like the ability to email a quote to convert it to a purchase order please
