  2. We switched over from QB and were told it would be so much better but come to find out there is no sales order feature and we are in shambles trying to find a workaround. I highly suggest XERO creates this feature to keep up with current programs and workflows.

  3. As in creating an invoice, you can preview the invoice with the Preview button at the top right, It would be useful to be able to preview a quote in the same manner, rather then having to print to PDF? - I'm new to Xero so if I have missed anything then let me know.

  4. There is no facility in Xero to send a quote to a supervisor for approval prior to sending to the customer. It is essential the amount quoted to the customer is correct. I can submit invoices, bills and purchase orders but not quotes. Why not?

  5. Quote Acceptance/Decline/Contact Merchant Buttons on quotes - select Reply To email.

    Please please please let us choose the "reply to" email address in settings for when a customer presses "Accept, Deline or Contact Merchant" button on emailed quotes!

    At the moment the reply goes to the staff members personal log in email which is super inappropriate and means the company misses these emails, especially if that staff member has left the company or the bookkeeper etc finalises the quote. The staff should never receive those emails in their personal email unless we select it in the settings. Give us the…

  6. Our work is often quoted at the project level, with invoices being issued monthly for the duration of the project until the quoted amount has been paid and the project completed.

    Currently, we create the quote, and then subsequently create invoices - manually keeping track until the quoted amount has been invoiced, at which point we mark the quote as invoiced.

    It would be helpful if;
    - We could split the quote into N invoices automatically with the total invoiced amount over N invoices equalling the amount in the selected quote.

  7. When we create quotes for a lot of our customers we want to include a few different documents with the quote without having to manually attach it to the quote. We want to add documents like product offering, pricing sheets, terms of sale etc. below the initial quote. We want to do this by selecting a branding theme which will automatically populate the template with those extra documents for us

  8. Enable common text formatting e.g add bullet points, make items bold, italic or underlined. Editing the text size and fonts might be handy for some folks too.

  9. Not sure if it's just me but in the last week or so I have noticed that quotes no longer show the item code, the quote terms box or our logo even though all the boxes are ticked to do so in the settings..?
    Really need these features back working please as we are now having to manually add/adjust these in the PDF before emailing clients.

  10. We would like the option to provide an "estimate" for our Customers, rather than a quote. In our industry, we don't know exactly what items will be required, until we have started the job. If we give our Customers a quote, they expect us to honour the price quoted. An estimate gives us more flexibilty with the specific items we need to order and charge for.

  11. Add a field for the date the customer requires delivery. I currently use the expiry date, but if I mark the quote as accepted this date disappears.

    This date is crucial for forecasting.

  12. "Copy to draft quote" to copy ALL details from the invoice.

    Currently, when a new quote is created from and invoice using "Copy to draft quote", not all details are copied form the invoice.
    For example, the currency is not copied from the invoice but from the customer's default currency (which may be different than the invoice's); I am not aware whether other parts of the invoice are not brought over to the quote.

    I contacted support who confirmed that this is a feature - it is actually done on purpose.

    I think this is in fact a bug and…

  15. You are currently able to build a zap to create an invoice and add items to the invoice. It would be useful if we could build zaps to both create and add items to a quote as well.

  16. Quote- Multiple formatting options in the "Summary" section.

    In the service delivery business the quotation is also your proposal. Having the ability to use bulleting or numbering as well as bold text or underlining would greatly improve the look and feel of your proposal when the "Summary" section is used to describe and summarize the work or project you are quoting on.

  17. Hi, I would like to be able to complete quotes correctly please. So for example, QU-6767 was accepted by the customer. The customer later decided that only one line of the quote was required, which was invoiced. I would now like to mark the remaining part of the quote as declined.

    It would therefore be helpful to have more options for the quotes system, to be able to mark the quote as partially invoiced and the remaining as declined, even after the quote has been accepted.

    I create monthly reports of accepted, declined and invoiced quotes. It would be helpful…

    Hi Danielle, when you say you'd like to post an application. Could quotes potentially be a fit for this purpose here? Otherwise could you share a bit more detail on what would be needed to record the application in Xero.

  19. IT would be really good to have the capability to add 'optional' items to a single quotation -

    • example #1: supplying in quantities of 10, 25 and 50,
    • example #2: there are five items in the 'basic quote' but the customer may choose to add items 6,7 and/or 8 but these aren't a fundamental requirement to include.

    If there is a quotation tool, then being able to offer customer flexibility is important as issuing multiple quotes can appear unprofessional

  20. Make the functionality of quotes similar to invoices, e.g. import quotes, bulk approve quotes, bulk send quotes. I recently had to send out 417 quotes for the same thing and they had to all be done individually which was extremely time consuming. If they had been invoices, I could've imported them on a spreadsheet, approved them all at once and sent them all at once. Instead each one had to be done individually.

    Appreciate your liking to invoices in Xero, Angela. Each functionality would need to be considered in isolation so I've changed the title of your idea here for bulk sending.

    We don't have any direct plans for this right now, but we'll begin to get a sense of the interest and keep you updated of any change, here.

    You'll find an existing idea for import/export of quotes that you may like to join as well. If there's any other feature like this that you'd like to see welcome to start another idea. 🙂
