Invoice template - Ability to remove "View Online"
"View Online" is still in the template for Australia and I don't want to see it. I also operate in other Xero Entities in US, Singapore, UK, Canada, India. I can toggle it off there what's Australia's issue?

I'd like to share an update as our team have released a change to Invoice templates so now all users have the option to toggle off 'Text links'.
The one caveat is if the invoice itself has a payment method attached the links will still show.
To change this. open the Invoice template, and go to the Content section where you'll have the toggle for Text links.

I FOUND OUT HOW TO REMOVE THE LINK!!!On the blue bar at the top, click 'Sales' then 'Sales settings'. Then click 'Invoice Settings'. For the invoice (eg Standard Invoice) click the Options dropdown and choose 'Preview and Edit invoice theme'.
In the editor, expand the 'Content' box on the left side. Use the toggle to disable 'Text Links' and, if wanted, 'QR Code'.
It took me ages to find this and it doesn't seem to be documented anywhere. The Xero AI was absolutely hopeless as well - what a waste of resources. Hopefully this will help anyone reading this!

How do I get rid of this link? I do not want it there and there seems to be no way to remove it. I do not have any online payments set up, nor do I need my clients to view invoices online.
It is absolutely infuriating that we keep being charged extra for stuff like this and it isn't even wanted, and then having to try and find a way to get rid of it after it's turned on automatically.

I asked Xero support about this and apparently it is showing for us because we use GoCardless - this isn't a way for clients to pay their invoices via the invoice because it is a direct debit mandate which has to be setup separately.
But as a result we are unable to remove the "View Online" sections from our invoices.
Not happy.

This is a shocking oversight on the part of whoever signed off this change. Why would it be OK to force us to now include this link on every invoice?

I have removed payment methods from any of my templates that had them included, and payment methods in the invoice settings are all turned off.
I still don't have access to this stupid button xero! I don't want my invoices to look like this!
I will occasionally need to provide a card payment feature and now I will end up using another platform directly. Isn't it obvious how counterproductive this is?

Dear all posting.
I have found how you can remove. you need to delete any payment services. You can view this by clicking onto the edit invoice > Payment Services > Manage Payment Services
EVEN IF YOU DONT USE ONE, BUT THERE IS ONE DISABLED HERE IT WILL NOT LET YOU REMOVE THE LINK. Delete and the option to remove becomes available. -

I do not want customers to be able to view the invoice online from a PDF. Please allow us the option to turn this off. This should be optional and not dictated. My business, my choice.
I shouldn't have to turn payment services off to do this, it should be a choice. I should be the one that decides what my customers can access and what they can't. Changes may need to be made internally and I don't want the customer to see anything other than what is on the original PDF copy they were sent. I will be keeping payment services off to be able to remove this. -

REMOVE VIEW INVOICE ONLINE, OR AT LEAST GIVE AN OPTION TO REMOVE. THIS IS MY BUSINESS AND YOU ARE DICTATING HOW WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE INVOICE!!!!!!!!!!

I would like to suggest an option within Xero to remove the “View Online” link from invoice PDFs.
We have already been able to remove the QR code from our invoice template, but the “View Online” link remains on the PDF and there is currently no option within the branding theme settings to remove it.
For our business, we want the PDF invoice we send to a customer to represent a static copy of the invoice as it was issued. If the invoice is subsequently amended in Xero, we do not want the customer to be able to click “View Online” and access a live version containing information that may differ from the original PDF they received.
We appreciate that the online invoice functionality is useful for many businesses, but there should be an option for businesses to choose whether the link is included on their PDF invoices.
Suggested improvement:
Add a simple setting within the invoice branding theme or invoice settings allowing users to:
Show the “View Online” link on PDF invoices; or
Hide/remove the “View Online” link from PDF invoices.
Ideally, this would allow businesses that use Xero primarily for accounting and invoicing but issue their customers with static PDF records to prevent access to the live online invoice.
This would give businesses greater control over what information their customers can access and ensure that the PDF invoice provided to a customer remains the definitive copy of what was originally issued.
I have contacted Xero Support about this and have been advised that removing the invoice link is currently not an option, hence submitting this suggestion here.
I would be grateful if Xero could consider adding this as a customisable option in a future update.
