Payroll AU: Process Negative RDO Units in Timesheets
Would like to see the option to have negative line items within timesheets and in the Employee Pay Templates.
Currently, in timesheets and pay template you cannot enter a negative units value. This would be useful when entering RDO deduction to hours worked.
EG, john works 40 hours (8 hours per day) and is deducted -4.hours for RDO adjustment (-.80 per day).
Per day = 8 Hours* $60 per hour, less -.8 RDO adjustment* $60 per hour = $432 for one day.
It would be useful to be able to enter the '-.80 RDO adjustment line' in the timesheet and weekly equivalent in the pay template. This is not currently possible.
The RDO system in Australia is widely used for small business, thus the need for negative adjustment within the software functions.
For the Employee Template - when saving a negative 'hours' value for the RDO weekly adjustment template eg. '-4.0' the software wont save the template until the value is 'positive' (ie will not save a negative value in the employee pay template)
I have been using Xero payroll for over a decade and would have thought this simple feature would have been developed by now.
I know Xero recently updated the 'timesheets' software, however this 'negative values' function is still not included.
Thanks for sharing your idea and letting us know you'd like to process negative RDO adjustments in timesheets. Based on how you're currently processing this, you'd need to add the adjustment to the draft payslip.
