  2. On the Sales menu, I would like a sub-menu/fly-out to the right of Invoices with links to the Draft, Awaiting Approval, Awaiting Payment, Paid, and Repeating tabs on the Invoices page. This would enable me to go directly to the tab I want, saving a click or two, and reduce page load time instead of always landing on the default tab then having to click the one I actually want. Clicking Invoices should still go to the All tab. Same could be done on the Purchases menu for Bills.

    Alternatively, instead of a sub-menu/fly-out, add Draft, Awaiting Approval, Awaiting Payment,…

    Understanding that sub menus or more levelled drop downs could be helpful in some places, this is an idea our product team have a close eye on.

    Hi team, we appreciate your valuable feedback on how we could keep improving the new navigation experience for our customers.

    We appreciate hearing how and why sub menus could be helpful in some sections of the navigation and this is something our product team are monitoring closely.

  4. Before the update, we were able to add settings like Report Codes to favourites, so it would appear automatically on the drop down list. Can you please reinstate the ability to add specific settings to favourites

  8. Can we add hotkeys for frequently used functions.

    For example

    Search - Alt + S

    Invoice - Alt + I

    Dashboard - Alt + D

    Bank rec - Alt + B
    And etc

    We appreciate some of our customers find keyboard shortcuts very useful for navigating. Thank you for sharing your interest in this with us, here.

  9. I'd prefer to see the Tax Menu consolidated into either the Reporting or Accounting menu. Having more options just adds clutter and unnecessarily overwhelms users.

  12. Please add Tracking Categories back to the main menu, so it can be accessed with one click instead of having to navigate through to settings. Under accounting tools would be fine. Thank you

    Thanks for raising your feedback with us here. It's really good to understand what's important to help our customers working in Xero.

    If possible it'd be great to get more detail as to why you're often needing to access the Tracking Settings? In many places you'll find that you can add new tracking options for a category while on the go and entering transactions in your org, so would appreciate deeper understandings of your business flows here.

    Upcoming changes are very useful. However, a small suggestion re. the home page menu: As an Accountant in practice would like the following order.

    Home
    Accounting
    Sales
    Purchases
    Payroll
    Reporting
    Tax and
    Contacts.

  14. Custom reports as an option the Report drop down. I know we can favourite them, but if we have a lot of custom reports it's quicker just to go to the custom report page immediately and work from there.

  15. This seems like an absolute no-brainer.

    When looking for an invoice or payment, I often copy the amount from a remittance or similar, and it is a frustrating waste of time to have to manually remove the comma.

    This should be easy to implement, and would make the user experience smoother seamlessly.

Hi Kelly, concerning projects, I have a thought or idea in seeing HOT Projects or URGENT or PRIORITY Projects in the Projects drop down just like the drop down on the Reporting button that you have Favorite Reports when you create custom reports or when you favorite some of the standard ones.   17. Hi Xero Team,

    I’m really disappointed to discover that the Xero Mobile App doesn’t provide any way to view the Balance Sheet - a core financial statement that forms half of any set of accounts and is the backbone of understanding a business’s position.

    As a property developer, tracking CAPEX spends per project is critical, and not having quick access to this information on the go is a significant limitation. Even a simple dashboard or quick-glance view in the app would make a huge difference for users like me who rely on Xero to manage their businesses efficiently.

    Appreciate your feedback here, James. It's good to hear the sort of information our customers would find most handy on the go.

    This isn't something we have direct plans for atm, but we'll get a sens of the interest for viewing the Balance Sheet in the Xero Accounting app from the community here and I'll let you know if there are any plans made.

  18. New Xero ribbon - can it be amended?
    Too much! There are things I don't use or need day to day. "Dashboard" became "home". Ok not great, but okay.
    The the "+" icon on the ribbon gives me the shortcut to anything.
    Xero has just gone and cluttered it up with stuff I don't need day to day. Like "Payroll" and "Reporting". Anyone else agree/disagree? How can it be amended from the users pov?

    Appreciate your feedback, and it's good to understand our different users needs when moving across Xero. Its good to hear that the '+' icon helps you get to most places you need.

    I want to assure you we did a lot of user research and testing of the new navigation to ensure it would suit the needs of majority of businesses.

    We'd like to continue to get a sense of the interest from your idea but want to be upfront that this isn't something we have plans of enabling any time in the near future.

  19. As an accountant I prefer the Reporting and Accounting tabs together, under one tab as it has always been. It would slow me down, if I had to search for accounting tools/reports under different tabs.
    Please keep it simple!

  20. In NZ we are required by law to keep 7 years of records for the IRD (tax department). I make a point of destroying old financial records that are older than 7 years. Xero doesn't have a mechanism to purge old data. I see in my Xero I full record including invoices, supplier invoices and financial data back to Jan 2014.

    I would like to see a system whereby old data was completely wiped, and summary starting figures created for the purged data period, say as at the start of each tax year, for me 1 April 2018 so that…

    Appreciate why you'd like to remove older data from your org after a long period, Steven. Generally we don't want to be touching our customers data, and this isn't something we have plans for implementing. However, we'll get a sense of the interest from others in this here, for our product teams to consider.

    Right now, if you'd like to remove older data there are a couple of options;

    • You could start a new organisation from the date you'd like to keep records from, setting up the organisation with conversion balances from that date. You could also export and import information from the old org to the new one.
    • Change the conversion balances in your existing org and remove older data prior to this date
