Tracking Categories - Increase maximum number of active tracking categories and tracking options
More Tracking Categories Fields: please would you consider increasing the number of Category fields? Currently there's only 2 fields and in a situation where you want to track complex sales cycles and sources, this is not sufficient.
For example - tracking a referring business, a partner account manager, a salesperson and a client account manger.
Having categories allows to perform calculations of revenue generated, its sources etc.

Projects - Allow projects reporting to show project costs split by nominal codes
I need to create a report per project which shows the total costs split into nominal codes. I do not want to also use tracking - duplication of work.
Project reporting is extremely limited on Xero

Projects – Progressive Billing for Fixed-Price Tasks
Problem
Fixed-price tasks in Xero Projects currently bill the entire fixed amount at once. Logging time or transferring the task to an invoice forces Xero to invoice the full value immediately.
Many businesses complete fixed-price work through multiple time entries or stages over long periods. We need to bill the fixed price progressively while still tracking actual time for internal cost and efficiency.
Impact
Today, users must manually split one real task into many smaller tasks (“Stage 1”, “Stage 2”, “Stage 3”), or manually edit every invoice to avoid overbilling.

Projects - Bulk update all tasks in a project as invoiced
Have an option to 'mark all items as invoiced' in a project. You can currently only do this if you invoice from 'project amount'.
We re-order and combine tasks when invoicing and then have to manually go into the project and mark every task and expense as invoiced individually. It's very time consuming. I need an option to mark all items as invoiced at once.

Project - Reference field
Add reference field for project.
We do a lot of project work. Our clients will generally have a tender or contract number associated with the project. I need to include this number on all invoices related to the project.It would be great to have an optional reference field for each project that, if not blank, would automatically populate the reference field for every invoice created.

Projects - Add a due date to tasks
When using projects, it would be great if you could add Deadline Dates to the tasks assigned to the project. This would be helpful in tracking tasks that need to be done. I know there is this option when adding a project, but many of the projects I add are for a whole year and then I add tasks for each month. I would like to be able to track all projects and tasks based on a deadline date.

Bank Reconciliation - Add Tracking Category to Transfer
when using tracking categrories it would be useful to be able to add the tracking category to a bank transfer, instead of going through find and match and the adding a transfer.

Projects- Search and sort by start date.
Add the ability to enter a start date for the project. Then add the ability to sort the list in date order rather than name.

Feature request for better support of tracking time for non-Xero users in Projects. Need a solution for tracking self-employed labourer's (non-Xero users) hours worked across Projects. Time sheets for non-Xero Users across Projects.

Projects - Track and approve project changes
Would like the ability to track changes to the estimated project amount over the course of the project as "Change Orders." This should allow for the following data points: date, description, positive or negative changes to the original estimate, calculate the new project total. The ability to notify project assignees and request approval from the client.

Projects - Track to estimate | Ability to add notes
It would be great if you could add notes to the specific estimated expense. When adding costs via 'track to estimate', it would be helpful to note reminders or notes to confirm elements are a variation/ or why the package has overspent. As opposed to adding more tracked expense. Even if it was a pop out on the Tasks and Expenses screen.

Projects – Add a Site Address field
Ability to add a "Site Address" for the project. I have clients who are landscapers or in the construction industry and may have one client with multiple projects that each have a different location.

Enable Xero Payroll (Coming later this year) to natively use approved time entered in Xero Projects for payroll processing, just as Projects time is already used for client invoicing.Problem:
Currently, time entered in Xero Projects cannot flow into Gusto (or future Xero Payroll). Teams must re-enter time or rely on external payroll systems, creating duplicate work, errors, and reconciliation overhead. This makes processing payroll today (Gusto, Paychex, ADP) feel disconnected from the rest of the Xero ecosystem.Proposed Solution:

Projects - Allow as an Add-On for all pricing plans
As a 1-man business I only need limited features, but the Project feature is one of these that feels essential to my line of work. It is only available in the highest pricing plan and is not available as an add-on. This appears to price out small businesses who want this feature. Please consider allowing this as an add-on, even if it isn't to be available in different pricing tiers.

Invoices - Create invoice to a date. Simple scheduling calender
Basically calendar to add draft invoices to, to use as a job scheduling calendar.
Add draft invoices/job to a date add basic detail to the schedule day and it saves the detail in the description row on invoice with the date.
Each time you add an invoice to a date and you add detail it adds new row with simple details
Once finished you finalize draft invoice as normal.

Invoicing - Apply tracking category automatically after creation
When you need to create a new tracking option in the sales invoice screen, you have to search for it again after you have just created it.
This used to work where it would keep the tracking option you just created but now you have to then search for it to select it again. Projects - Add Project Time to Quick Create Shortcut Menu
It would be great to have a shortcut to adding project time. At the moment, the + near settings has a shortcut to many functions, but not project related functions.

Xero Payroll - Audit trail/Time logs for timesheet entries
Time logs in timesheets. I will be very helpful if there are time logs, when updating timesheets. We can see when our employees has updated their timesheets, if that is on time or late. This will help us trough chasing purposes.

Quick tip in the meantime: You can use the Timesheet Summary Report to quickly identify which employees haven't submitted hours for a specific period, which might help with your chasing process!

Contacts - Option to add "New Project for This Contact"
Need the option on a contact page to open a new project for them. similar to the New invoice link

Projects - Ability to create Sub project under main project
We often have project and during this we generate sub projects.
For record keeping it would be handy to able create a sub project under the main one.
