Project: Task list - Ability to change the order in the list.
Ability to change the order of the tasks from the list.
Purpose: To make users’ workflow more efficient rather than having to scroll down to find the task each time.

Reviewing Xero Projects as an alternative option to our current project management software - trialling through the demo company and finding this issue is a real stumbling block. Hence searched on Xero product ideas to view comments. Able to re-order in quotes, invoices and bills so why not project tasks & expenses? Xero Team - I'm amazed with the repeat requests & level of votes that this fundamental feature hasn't been added.

7 years since this has been submitted, this feature would save sooo much wasted time deleting and adding tasks so they line up in order.

Many of our projects have several dozen tasks assigned to different teams. New tasks are added constantly. Being able to reorder/group tasks would be a huge time saver for both management and staff.

This functionality should be available! Client projects change over time and tasks need to be added (not to mention sometimes tasks are added in error and need to be corrected or re-ordered). This would make it much easier when invoicing in instalments, especially when invoices relate to the parts of the project that have been delivered.

Here I'm relying more on breaking projects down into tracking units using Tasks.
Re-ordering tasks really should be essential; once there are more than five or six, picking the right task is better to be structured by the task order.

This is so important as projects grow and evolve - which is the intent of most businesses.
@Xero can you please respond on whether this is likely to be done in the near term with your increase in Projects price or whether it's not? It would be very helpful for medium-term decision-making.
Thank you!

It would seem a simple thing to be able to drag the tasks into the order required. After all, this is already possible with line items when preparing sales invoices and when building a P&L report by account.

Purpose: So tasks can be grouped more efficiently making it easier for the team to follow.
Often, our projects have many line items, with new requests briefed in from clients throughout the job, so the Xero Project becomes messy and unordered. It would be great to have the ability to move line items up and down as needed.

This would make Projects more user friendly and clearer, especially when you have numerous tasks that can't be archived.

It's very odd that this isn't currently a feature; it's a fairly basic feature which would greatly improve the usability of the projects part of the platform. Would be great to get this integrated sooner vs. later

I would really love to be able to shuffle the Task order in Projects. We LOVE Projects for timekeeping and organising our tasks. It has been an absolute game changer in my business these past few years. But that one little issue tends to frustrate us regularly. In a Project, being able to move the order of the Tasks around would be great for my team when keeping time, and for me when invoicing. Thanks for listening!

Being able to add new tasks and drag them to their correct placement within sequence would be so helpful. I use a number of templates and can easily remove or edit lines but if I need to add an additional interview or task above my "invoice client" line, I can't currently do it.

I have projects with dozens of tasks, adding a new tasks while the projects runs and not being able to move them around is very annoying.
