  1. Projects currently only allows hourly rate, fixed price or non chargeable time. It would be great to be able to select a daily rate option

  2. In the older Project Report function it was possible to select the Supplier Name. This option is now not available in the newer Project Financials report. This is useful as it allows supplier engagement for a specific project to be monitored and avoids the need to perform other more long-winded searches.

  4. A drop-down list when adding a Task under a project for an Estimated expense or an Expense. We only see a list when we type something. What if we want to see the items in alphabettical order starting with the 1st item?

  5. Reports: Project Financials
    Include the ref of bills and invoices as an optional column on this report. At present the only way to include this information is to re type it into the description of each line on a bill or invoice, which is not efficient.

  6. Most of my projects just have one task, so when I go and create a time entry for a project with a single task, it would be great if the task was already set.

  7. In Projects, when we add tasks to the project (pulled from Products and Services) and then Create Quote, the Product or Service name is what imports into the description line in the Quote and not the description from that Product or Service, as it does when creating a quote outside of Projects. Having this consistency makes sense (and is strange that it is not already the default) but it makes creating a quote from projects cumbersome, as the description needs to be added manually.

  8. In Xero Project it would be useful to create sub teams within the staff. For example, we have different office locations and would like to filter our reports, or view projects by those office locations.

  9. Xero Project Module

    we are currently using Xero Project module.
    the duration of each project is around 3 years.

    I need to have an interface that allows me to input the sales invoices issued, purchases & expenses related to this project in the last 2 Financial years.

    I need to track the profitability of this particular project that will be a duration of over 3 years

  11. Invoice in Projects - ability to combine time entries of employees to show total hours per employee

    At the moment when you create an invoice in Projects, all the individual time entries are shown which can be 2-3 pages long. It would be great to have an option to combine all time entries per employee over a selected period so that the invoice doesn't have to be 2-3 pages long showing time entries done by each employee when all we need is one line item per each employee.

    Does this need to be on an employee basis, Jay? 

    At present, you can either create an invoice based on the Task or based on Time entries. 

    To confirm at present you can summarise the time entries by selecting to invoice as a Task - but appreciate this doesn't allow the individual lines for a employee breakdown 

  12. It would be useful to see the Date and Contact Name associated with each invoice and expense that is shown in Projects, rather than clicking to view each one each time.

    This is particularly important now that we have realised that those with Projects access but not Standard User access to Xero cannot view the invoices or expenses to see that detail.

  14. When I post an expense through to a project, for some reason it limits it to 100 characters, which pretty much makes it un-useable for me.
    This is annoying, as I was just thinking how handy the projects app is, but now all the "projects" I've set up are basically a waste of time as I need the extra detail on my invoices.
    Please can you change this?

  15. We are a small consultancy firm and we do work for customers for multiple sites. We set up our projects where each task is a separate site. We need to be able to search for these tasks but the search option only allows searching at a project level. Can you please update the functionality to be able to search based on task name?

  16. The Project Details report has the option to Summarise by Project Name, however the feature doesn't work if you select multiple projects. Xero support have advised that they know about the problem but don't plan on fixing it. The report just comes back with a message saying "There is No Data to Display". This report would be very useful as it is the only report that shows remaining hours on the summary version. Project reports overall are very confusing and this is the report that makes the most sense and is not working.

  17. Profitability of projects not correct. We are setting up projects in Xero. We have found the profit figures are not accurate where there are a mixture of GBP and US$ bills. Could you please forward to your development team. It can't be that difficult for projects to pick up a translated figure surely??

    Would still need to consider an optional trigger here as different businesses process projects in different ways. 

    Appreciate the efficiency play and while this isn't something we have plans for atm, we'll track the interest of this here. 

  20. I have clients with multiple projects and multiple contractors billing for each project. If I want to sort the cost of the contractors by contractor, to evaluate the individual profitability of each person working on the project, then I have to create an estimated expense for each contractor. Easy enough - their contracts have the maximum hours they're expected to be billing my client.

    But if I forgot to assign each bill to a tracked expense before I on-bill that expense, then once the hours that the contractor has worked have been on-billed, I can't assign them to a tracked…
