Manual Journal Entry - reinstate ability to see full description in journal line and narrations when description is larger than one line
The new layout for Manual journals is fine but is very simplified for what can be a complex function. Some journals require a large description in either/both the Narration and each journal line's description.
We have some journals where the line description is copied from the invoice description so that Managers and Auditors have a full view of what's going on. Sometimes those invoices have a return/enter within the description, so the data covers multiple lines.
The new layout only allows the first line of the description to be viewed, which means clicking into each Description field when entering the journal to check what has been entered rather than simply seeing all the detail on the screen.
If I click on the first line to see what the description is, then I can't easily click into the second line as it is covered by the expanded first line.
Similarly, the Narration field can accept a long description but doesn't show it unless that field is selected.
For any journal entries that require a Manager to review and approve, this means that they must click into every single field before approval, making it a time-consuming exercise which risks review-fatigue by the reviewing Manager.
Please allow the ability to see all of the information in a Manual Journal on the screen at once.
