  1. The current Tracking Summary Report is quite inflexible. I'm unable to filter by Account Code, edit the report layout, nor save as a custom report. It would be good if this report design could be refreshed to include these features, and to bring the report inline with the newer style reports.

  2. One thing I really like in the new Organisation menu is the search bar. When you click the organisation name, the cursor automatically lands in the search field, so you can start typing straight away. It makes switching between orgs quick and seamless.

    It’d be great to see this same experience in the new Reporting menu. Favouriting reports is useful, but it doesn’t cover every scenario. For power users, being able to click into the Reporting menu and have the cursor automatically placed in a search field - just like in the Organisation menu - would make it much faster…

  3. Custom Reports Formatting & Formulas

    1 - more options like spacers (not just page breaks), lines, section dividers
    2 - text box more flexible = between lines, not just at the beggining and end of the whole reports
    3 - allow formulas to display text results (if statements), not just numbers

  4. Bank Reconciliation - With Separate Debit and Credit columns with their totals
    Currently both DR and CR amounts show in one column. Would love to see them in their own columns when reporting.

    Also, a larger description/reference area would be great.

  5. Automatically include GST, PAYG and Super in the cashflow manager report. This would be quite easy an implementation, as all that needs to happen is the report pulls the BAS & Super payment settings (for the dates), and adds in the amounts to cashflow manager.

  7. Being able to print off the reports in the 'edit' mode so you can see the expanded breakdown of the accordian would be very helpful to ensure that Notes match Statements of Financial Performance and Position (especially useful for our juniors who often can't work out where their subcodes are if there have been reporting changes)

  9. A report is needed that lists the customer activity with the ability to filter out customers with a zero balance. It takes 20 minutes to run an activity report (which is transactions in AR) then filter out all of the customers with a zero balance. This needs to be done monthly and it is ridiculous to not have that ability.

    Being able to exclude customers with zero balances or no activity directly within accounts receivable reports could make it easier to review outstanding balances without needing to manually filter the results.

    We've updated this idea to Gaining Support so we can continue tracking interest from the community. If this feature would help your workflow, add your vote and share which reports you'd like this filter to be included.

  10. It would be great to be able to hide formula rows in reports where the result is a nil balance. Currently we get multiple repetitive total lines on reports when there is no activity cluttering up the reports unnecessarily.

    Hi Kerrin, thanks for raising this. It’s easy to see how automatically hiding custom formula rows with no activity would make reports cleaner and easier to read.

    Without this option, reports can feel cluttered. That often means sharing something that looks busier than it needs to be, or exporting the report just to remove empty rows manually—extra work that defeats the purpose of using the report builder.

    I’ve moved this idea to Gaining Support so we can better understand interest in more report-level formatting options. If you’re able to comment with the specific reports where this would be most useful, it’ll help other users understand the use case and help the idea gain traction.

  11. Hi, it would be amazing to have the ability to delete certain line items to create custom reports (eg - Profit and Loss). I currently need to export the full report into excel and manually delete the lines, but would be nice to have the option to do this in Xero custom reports

  12. I would like to request improvements to the Journal Report to make it more user-friendly for accountants and bookkeepers.
    Currently, reversal journals and their original entries appear together, which makes the report difficult to read and slows down review during month-end and year-end close.
    Please consider adding these enhancements:
    1. Preferred enhancement: Reversal Filters
    Please add filter options to control visibility of reversal-related journals:
    • Show or hide original journals
    • Show or hide reversal journals
    • View only normal (non-reversal) journals
    This would keep the full audit trail intact, but make the report much cleaner and easier to analyze.…

  14. Uncoded transaction report only allows you to pick all accounts or a single account in the filters.

    I have a client who has 10 accounts but only half of them are current and non personal accounts. I either have to run the report 5 times or have the report being 13 pages long.

    It would be good if we could select multiple accounts in the filters.

    Hi Victoria, thanks for sharing this idea. We understand that having the ability to select multiple bank accounts when running the Uncoded Statement Lines report could be useful for reviewing specific accounts without including all results.

    The idea is to add a multi-select account filter for the Uncoded Statement Lines report, allowing users to choose specific accounts and create more focused reports for review.

  15. When reviewing quarterly and annual figures from the Profit and Loss report’s account transactions, we currently have to click into each Xero Me app expense to see the description and confirm it’s coded correctly. Expenses entered via bank feeds or bills display descriptions properly in the Account Transactions report, but Xero Me submissions do not.

    This inconsistency makes it difficult to quickly identify and verify transactions without drilling into each one. Competing platforms such as MYOB, QuickBooks, and HandiLedger display expense descriptions consistently, regardless of how the expense was entered.

  16. Restore function where the previously viewed transaction is highlighted in a darker or different colour so you know where you are on a list of transactions. It used to be there but it has now gone :(

    Thanks for sharing your idea, Diana. We understand that having a way to keep track of reviewed transactions would help when working through large reports.

    The suggestion is to add a visual indicator for previously viewed items, making it easier to remember where you left off and avoid reopening the same transactions.

    For now, opening transactions in separate browser tabs can help keep your place while reviewing multiple items. We’ll continue tracking this idea here so the community can share feedback and use cases.

  18. There are two concerns regarding XERO Blue Report extraction. One is to apply a page break after each ledger when extracting general ledger details while selecting all ledgers. The other is to extract the transaction list by edit period. This will be helpful in identifying differences between the same report taken for two different periods.

    Hi Arunadevi, thanks for sharing this idea. We understand that having cleaner report layouts can make it easier to review and export General Ledger reports.

    The suggestion is to add page breaks after each account when exporting the General Ledger report, so each section is easier to review and present.

    For now, you can export the report to a spreadsheet and adjust the formatting before sharing. We'll continue to track interest and engagement here.

    A separate suggestion was also mentioned around exporting transactions based on edit period. To help each idea get the right visibility, please create a separate idea for that request so it can be tracked individually.

  20. I'm looking to get more information from this report. Essentially, I'd like to combine "Bank Reconciliation Summary" with "Bank Summary" or "Reconcile Period" where there is an opening balance, add deposits, less withdrawals to get the bank statement balance, then add outstanding deposits and less outstanding withdrawals to get the book balance (balance on trial balance). It should display the source (account) currency and local (reporting) currency (as the "Bank Reconciliation Summary" already does).
