Bank reconciliation: add transaction default contact
During bank reconciliation we deal with many customers that slightly over/underpay their invoices, which makes it necessary for us to create overpayments often.
Suggestion: when a payment is partially matched during reconciliation (the user has checked one or more invoices to match with the same contact) and the user selects 'New Transaction' to allocate the remainder, Xero should prefill the contact field with the same contact that the user has already matched.
Reason: Xero makes it a bit too easy to accidentally create new contacts when a user types into the contact field, sees the correct contact showing, but does…1 voteThanks for sharing this idea with the Xero community. We appreciate the time you’ve taken to explain your suggestion for carrying the contact from a matched invoice or bill through to an additional transaction during bank reconciliation. We’re moving this idea to Gaining Support so we can gauge community interest and hear from other customers who would find this useful in their day-to-day workflows. Votes and comments help us understand how broadly an idea would benefit the community and allow others with a similar need to add their support. Chart of Accounts - Extra Column to show transactions reference details
When viewing each nominal account it would be helpful if a column to show reference detail, this will save a lot of time as we currently need to click into each transaction to get the details.
1 voteThanks for sharing this idea, Maria. We understand the request to add a Reference column to the Chart of Accounts transaction view. This could make it easier to review and trace transactions without opening each one individually.
We've updated the status to Gaining Support so we can continue tracking community interest. If this could improve your workflow, add your vote and share your use case.

Customer Statement - Change Overpayment term to Direct Payment
Because overpayments are the only means of receiving or spending money directly in the control accounts (A/R and A/P), they should be called direct payment. On a statement, the activity is called Overpayment, which confuses clients. To the layman, overpayment indicates an error in payment.
If not Direct Payment, can it be called Payment?
1 voteThanks for sharing your feedback here. We understand the request for statements to use terminology that better matches the type of payment being recorded, rather than displaying Overpayment.
I’ve moved this post to Gaining Support so we can continue gathering community feedback. If this is something you’d use, let us know what label you’d choose and why.

Xero Accounting App - Bulk transaction reconciliation in the mobile app
The app needs SO MUCH more functionality including the ability to multiple select transactions that aren’t tax deductions and then send them to an account all at once. That’s what takes up the most time, painfully going through every transaction separately. You should be able to multi-select a bunch and then send them to an account
1 voteThanks for highlighting this improvement. The request is for bulk actions in bank reconciliation, allowing users to choose multiple transactions and apply reconciliation or categorisation in a single action via the Xero Accounting App.
This could be particularly useful for groups of transactions that need the same treatment, rather than processing each line separately.
I’ve updated the status to Gaining Support so we can continue gathering feedback. Let us know what types of transactions you’d most often process in bulk.

Navigation - Option to disable or remove "Leave Site?" unload confirmation prompt
The unload confirmation prompt "leave site?" added (what feels like) hundreds of additional clicks to my tired hand.
Please remove the "leave site?" prompt.
1 voteAppreciate you bringing this to the community. We understand the request for a user setting to disable the browser unload confirmation when navigating away from Xero.
The prompt can be useful when there are unsaved changes, while an option to turn it off could be preferred by users who don't need the additional confirmation.
I’ve updated the status to Gaining Support so we can continue tracking interest. Add your vote and let us know on which screen you’d prefer this setting to work.

Bank Reconciliation - Filter or view for bank transactions matching bank rules
On the Bank Reconciliation screen, please add a filter or checkbox to show only transactions where Xero has identified a matching bank rule. Essentially, “Here are all the lines that match the criteria of a bank rule.”
At present, these transactions are mixed in with all other unreconciled bank transactions. This means users must work through or scroll past numerous transactions to identify those where a bank rule is available.
A simple filter such as “Bank rule matches only” would allow users to quickly review and reconcile all transactions that have triggered a bank rule in one batch.
This would…
1 voteThanks for sharing this feedback. Having a way to quickly isolate transactions matched by bank rules could make high-volume bank reconciliation easier to manage.
We’ve updated this idea to Gaining Support so we can continue tracking interest. If this would improve your workflow, let us know how you’d like to use it.

History & Notes - view user that created an account
Have history on chart of accounts to see who opened an account or changed.
1 voteThanks for connecting with our Xero Support team to feedback on our last update, Rachel. you can always react to the email notification of the status update from the idea that'll allow you to share feedback that myself and the team review, too. 🙂
Though it's possible to view the history when a change is made to an account in the chart of accounts, there's no current event that records when a user creates a new account.
We'll start to get a feel for the interest in this here, and I'll share if there are any updates.

Bank Feeds - Preview new statement balance prior to confirming bank statement imports
Importing Bank Feeds - When importing bank feeds, before confirming the import it would be useful to see what the new statement balance in Xero will be once the transactions have imported so you can reconcile it to the statement balance before hitting confirm.
1 voteThanks for sharing this idea, Amey. A balance preview during bank statement imports could make it easier to verify the imported statement lines before they’re added.
I’ve moved this post to Gaining Support so we can continue gathering feedback.

Westpac Bank Feed Correction
Correct the Westpac Bank Feed so the fields are passed through to Xero correctly. Currently the Description (from Westpac) is put into the Payee field (which should be Merchant), resulting in truncated description payee.
This causes us several issues in our reconciling process, particularly with being unable to identify who made a purchase without logging into the westpac portal, as well as not being able to set up rules to consistently process against a contact without the merchant being passed through correctly.
I believe the matching of a transaction to a bank line is also impacted by this. We often…

Bank Feed - Standard Chartered Global Private Bank
Dear Support,
Please expand bank feed connections to the Standard Chartered Global Private Bank. This will assist greatly in processing bank account information in Xero.1 voteThanks for sharing what banks you'd like to see us develop a feed with, Michelle. We'll start to feel out the appetite in this feed from the community here, and I'll share if there are any plans made for developing a feed wth Standard Chartered Global Bank.

Cash coding - Allow user to save partial allocations
Cash coding - Allow user to save partial allocations, such as tracking categories, instead of having to add all final data to reconcile
1 voteAppreciate you raising this suggestion. Being able to save partial allocations could provide more flexibility when working through larger list of reconciliation.
At the moment, only completed entries can be saved in Cash Coding. As a workaround, you can reconcile straightforward transactions there first, then return to more complex items from the Reconcile tab.
We've moved this idea to Gaining Support so we can continue gathering feedback and understanding the demand for this capability.

Bank feed – AmBank Group Malaysia
AmBank Group Malaysia (including AmBank Islamic) currently has no direct bank feed integration with Xero. Malaysian SMEs using AmBank must manually export and upload CSV statements, which is inefficient and error-prone. We request Xero to establish a direct API-enabled bank feed with AmBank, similar to the existing CIMB and RHB Malaysia integrations. This would greatly benefit Malaysian businesses and support Xero's growing presence in Malaysia.
1 voteAppreciate you raising this idea, Azman. We can see how connecting AmBank Malaysia through a direct bank feed could help streamline reconciliation and reduce the need for manual statement imports.
We've moved this idea to Gaining Support so we can continue gathering feedback. We'll keep sharing interest from the community with the team as they assess future banking integrations.

Bank feed - Display warning of consequences when attempting to disconnect feed
Before triggering direct advice to the bank to disconnect a bank feed(s), send a warning to the Xero Administrator that outlines the impending course of action in an attempt to stop an unintended consequence after archiving an active bank account.
1 voteThanks for sharing this idea, Mark. We can understand how receiving a warning before Xero sends a request to disconnect a bank feed could help prevent accidental disconnections, particularly when an active bank account is archived unintentionally.
We've updated the status of this idea to Gaining Support so we can continue tracking community interest.

Bank Feeds - Establish direct bank feed connection for Bank of Singapore (An OCBC Company)
Dear Support,
Please expand bank feed connections to the Bank of Singapore (An OCBC Company). This will assist greatly in processing bank account information in Xero.1 voteThanks for taking the time to suggest this. We understand the request to add Bank of Singapore as a supported bank feed connection. This could help customers and advisors spend less time managing manual statement uploads.
For now, bank transactions can be brought into Xero by importing a supported statement file from your banking provider.
We've updated this idea to Gaining Support so we can continue tracking interest from the community. If this connection would help your business, add your vote and let us know more about your setup.

Bank Feeds - Enable direct bank feeds for Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) Line of Credit accounts
The new RBC connector cannot see the Line of Credit feeds and has to be refreshed separately compared to the old connector (Yodlee?)
1 voteHi Samantha, thanks for highlighting this improvement. We understand the ask to have a direct bank feed for RBC Line of Credit accounts could make it much easier to keep borrowing activity and repayments up to date without relying on manual imports.
At the moment, direct feeds for some RBC Line of Credit accounts aren't available. This means transactions may need to be imported manually, which can add extra steps when reconciling your accounts and monitoring balances.
In the meantime, you can download transactions from your RBC Online Banking account and import them into Xero using the Import a Statement option. This helps keep your account up to date while continuing to reconcile activity in Xero.
We'll continue to track interest and gather more input from others who'd benefit from this capability.

Bank Feeds - Streamline the authority form for Co-operative Bank account
When linking a Co-Operative Bank Business account it is currently necessary to download and print off a pre-populated form, sign and then upload. Two weeks later you (I assume this is a common experience) receive a message saying the bank account number needed to be 16 digits. You then need to do the whole thing again, this time adding two zeros to the end of the bank account number so the system can recognise it.
Ideally of course non of this would be necessary but I think the piece of paper itself is a Co-Op problem not a Xero one.…
1 voteHi Carolyn, thanks for raising this with the community. We can see how a simpler way to connect Co-operative Bank accounts could make getting started with bank feeds much easier.
At the moment, the setup process for some bank feeds is determined by the bank's requirements, which may include completing and submitting an authority form before the feed can be activated. While waiting for the bank feed to be approved, you can import bank statements manually using CSV files to keep your accounts up to date and continue reconciling transactions.
I've updated the status of this idea to Gaining Support so we can continue tracking community interest. If you'd like to share more, it would be helpful to know which part of the setup process caused the most friction, whether it was the forms, the approval timeframe, or something else.

Bank Reconciliation - Ability to "park" or hold complex transactions in a separate tab on the Reconcile screen
Suspension of transactions waiting for more information
Please please please
When doing the reconciliations can there be a quick action button that lets me set aside this transaction for now so I can continue with the easier reconciliations and then come back to these ones.
Ideally the selected transactions would change colour and stay at the top of the list for revisiting. Even perhaps with a line underneath them to delineate from the main recon list.
The "suspension list" would not be part of the scrolling or page selection, as we need to easily see that they still need to…1 voteHi Dianne, thanks for sharing your feedback here.
Having a way to temporarily park bank statement lines during reconciliation could make it easier to work through high volumes of transactions without losing your place when an item needs further investigation.
I've updated the status of this idea to Gaining Support. If this is a feature you'd like to see, please continue to vote and share how you currently manage these transactions. Your feedback helps us better understand how this could support different reconciliation workflows.

transfer
Allow us to transfer funds between linked accounts using products like Plaid. Save so much time!
1 voteHi Jessasm, just to make sure I understand your idea here correctly, are you saying you'd like to be able to physically transfer funds between your bank accounts from within Xero?

Bank Rec - Use contact bank details when matching transactions
Reconciling needs to cross reference the bank details of the customer as well as the amount paid. One of the biggest admin errors we face is when we auto match the wrong statement line to invoice. If the software was looking for the bank details too this would help avoid mis match.
1 voteAppreciate the additional detail you shared, and how matching with the ability to base this on contact bank details would be useful to you, Julia.
I'll shift your idea to Gaining support so we can get a better sense of interest in this idea. Feel free to share with any colleagues that'd find this useful too!
