Bank Reconciliation - Choose which columns to show on the Account Transactions and Bank Statements tabs
The columns visible in Bank Statements and Account Transactions under Bank Accounts are totally different. This makes it almost impossible to search for matching transactions. Can you have default columns that can be selected? Some of the columns are only available when the statement is uploaded and I'm not sure even how useful they are.
8 votesHi Ann, it'd be good to understand more of the detail that you're seeing on each of these screens that is useful to you - Perhaps there's a report we can suggest that gives all that you're after?

Bank Reconciliation | Stripe - Add an option to set 'only match' with the reference
We integrate with Stripe for payments and we reconcile our Stripe payments every day to invoices that we generate automatically via a script. On average, we reconcile 50 to 100 invoices each day to Stripe payments. The issue we have with Xero is that the Xero algorithm looks at the amount, the name (customer), OR reference (invoice, order, etc) to match payments with invoices. Like many businesses, our sales price is the same across many accounts and we sell many of the same products over and over to the same customers so this renders the Xero algorithm useless for an…

Bank Rules - Mix 'Any' and 'All' rules
When setting up bank rules there are times when the flexibility of a string search is great and ANY should be applied, but some times a amount limit is needed to distinguish different nature of the spend. EG small spend at a service station might be a drawing rather than a fuel item.

Find and Recode: Filter by currency
I find the 'Find & recode' tool very useful, but it would be really helpful if the condition 'Currency' could be added, so that we can choose to see only transactions in a certain currency.
Since MTD for VAT, more and more clients are using digital links as software that automatically extract the VAT amounts from receipts (e.g. Dext), including receipts from other countries. They publish them to Xero and are not aware that they are overclaiming VAT. To make corrections and change these transactions to 'Zero Rated Expenses' we use 'Find & recode'. It would be much easier if…

Account transactions - Option to Remove and Copy a transaction
create a remove and copy option (similar to remove and redo) which then copies all details from the transaction you are deleting to a new transaction to then recode rather than trying to remember all the details from the transaction you are deleting
2 votesInteresting idea, Gary - will be good to get a sense of the interest in this. Can you share more detail of scenarios you're finding you encounter where you need to copy a transaction to a new one when removing it?
Is there a reason editing is not an option?- Or would this commonly be with a payment transaction against an invoice/bill?

Bank Reconciliation: Spend Money - View/Print PDF Through Spend Money
I've been raised an issue regarding View/Print PDF on Spend Money transaction and Xero Central Stated that "At the moment, it's only possible to send a remittance advice for payments recorded on bills".
Therefore, I would like to give a suggestion, If possible, create a features that able us as Accountant & Bookkeepers to have features to View/Print from Spend Money & Transfer money like Receive Money features have.
This features enable us to have documentation to file and for audit purposes.
8 votesHi Nur Fatini, it'd be good to get more understanding from you here as it sounds like the Account Transactions report could serve the purpose or perhaps simply creating a receipt of the spend money?

Account Transactions - Add transaction notes with CSV statement import
In Xero it is possible to add notes to spend money and receive money transactions, however, this field is missing for imports. The import documentation doesn't show a notes field:
https://central.xero.com/s/article/Import-a-precoded-CSV-bank-statement
The Description and Reference fields are intended to be from the bank statement, however, Xero has a notes function once you enter a spend or receive money. That's where I want to add a note during import.
Please add this feature.
Thanks

Cash Coding - Access notes on the coding screen
Cash Coding Discussion/Notes: When I'm cash coding transactions, it would be really helpful to access the discussions/notes on the cash coding screen. When I have a question about a transaction, I have to go find it in the account to write a note for review. It'd be great to do that straight from the cash coding screen.

Reconciliation between the Accounting Profit and Taxable Income
Can you add into the reports for business a report to reconcile the Accounting profit to the Taxable income.
1 voteHi Neil, do you have an example of the sort of report you're looking for here? The Profit & Loss report will show you both the Gross Profit, expendable activities and Net Profit, which you can drill into the figures of to view the related items that make up the figure of in the Profit & Loss? Or is it something a bit different you're looking for here?

Bank reconciliation | Add a border to 'Discuss' box if there is a suggested match
Put a green border around the discuss box (in the dashboard reconcile tab) if there is a potential matched docket from queries so you don't have to click to the match button for every item to see if the ones you have processed were a match.

Reconciliation - Default to classic Statement Import screen
The new way of importing bank statements does not work for our company.
Can XERO allow a permanent setting to default to classic import instead of having to switch there manually every time?1 vote -
Bank accounts - Export list of unreconciled items from Account Transactions screen
Be able to export to Excel the Account Transactions screen from the bank that shows the unreconciled items
11 votesHi all, I wanted to share that while there's no export option on the Account Transactions screen itself, it is possible to export a list of unreconciled Account Transactions with the Business Bank Account Reconciliation Summary report. If you export a copy of this to Excel you'll find the sections for Plus Outstanding Payments and Less Outstanding Receipts which are the unreconciled account transactions. Hope that helps 😊

Reconciliation: Remove archived accounts from drop-down menu
I have a number of accounts that are archived. However they still appear in the dropdown options when I reconcile an account. This makes for confusion when selecting accounts.

Xero Accounting app - Reconcile Stripe payments
Ability to automatically reconcile Stripe payments on mobile app. Currently Xero automatically groups transactions for Stripe payments to be automatically reconciled on desktop, but the Android app does not select Stripe transactions for automatic reconciling.

Bank Reconciliation - Add batch toggle for 'Discuss' to 'Match' view
Bank items to reconcile list ability to toggle all items between 'discuss' and 'match' together as it is easy to miss if an item is showing as 'discuss' but client has uploaded a bill or invoice and it can now be matched
7 votesHi community, it’s been a while since our last update. Just wanted to share a quick status change and keep everyone in the loop.
We’ve updated the idea on bank reconciliation workflows to Gaining support, so it’s easier for the community and the product team to track interest. The idea will stay open for votes and comments, so adding any extra context about your workflow and inviting others to share their experiences can help build a clearer picture of the need.
We’ll let you know if anything changes as the idea progresses.

Bank Reconciliation - Upload files to the Discuss tab
Would be great to have the ability to attach docs to an unreconciled line under the discuss tab. Eg when you have the receipt, but waiting on answers to reconcile. Would save a lot of time not having to track the invoice/doc back down again. Would be ideal if it would auto attach it when you have all the info to complete the recon.

Bank Account - Add "Difference" field to show the actual amount of the difference between statement balance and balance in Xero
On bank header screen where it shows "Statement Balance" and "Balance in Xero" could we have a simple "Difference" calculation to show the actual amount of the difference.
6 votesHi Valerie, while not shown in the Bank header, you can run the Bank Reconciliation report which will show you the balance out by figure. If the Imported statement balance hasn't imported or doesn't match your actual bank statement ending balance, you can enter this yourself at the top of the report and update so Xero will show a calculated balance out by amount.

Bank Reconciliation Summary - Filter by source
Filter Bank Feed By Source
When looking for bank errors because a bank balance is incorrect, it would make things quicker to filter by bank transaction source
Many errors are caused by the source being imported manually but the transaction has already been imported by bank feed
to filter these ones out would make things quicker3 votes -
Bank reconciliation report - Show bank account number
In addition to the bank account name showing on the bank reconciliation report, it would be good to also show the account number. This would make it easier to match the bank statement with the bank account in Xero.
For example, my client may have it as Business Account 1, Business Account 2 in Xero but the actual account name is ANZ Transaction Account, NAB Cheque account - so easily being able to match the account number when checking period end balances would make it much quicker and easier.4 votes
