Bank Reconciliation - Suggest matches for total of multiple transactions for the same Contact
In the bank feed, recognise transactions that cover a supplier or customers total balance, or multiple bills/invoices paid together rather than only suggesting matches for 1 invoice/bill.

Bank Reconciliation - Copy details from statement line into spend/receive money
Please set the bank reconciliation lines on the right-hand side to pre-populate with the details on the left=hand side, that is as long as there is no 'match'' and it is not a transfer. I'm mystified as to why I have to copy and paste all of the information from the left side to the right side when Xero could do this in a jiffy. Presently the pre-population remembers a long lost description I may have made such as 'birtthday gift' and Xero is remembering this forevermore. It would be simple and accurate to pre-populate especially since valuable information (such…
15 votesHi everyone, thanks for all the engagement and feedback so far. It has been awhile since this was raised, so we just wanted to refresh the status of this idea.
We understand you’re looking for a quicker way to pull details from bank statement lines directly into transaction descriptions, so you can reduce manual typing during reconciliation.
At the moment, statement line details can be copied into transactions using standard copy and paste, and for repeat transactions, Bank Rules can also help automatically bring through key fields like payee and reference into the description.
We’ll continue to track feedback and interest from the community for this idea.

Cash Coding - Disable "Save & Reconcile All' button if nothing is ticked
Perhaps it's a bug but, while using cash coding /fast coding of a bank account, if nothing is ticked, I can still click 'Save & Reconcile all', which I have done by mistake on 2 occasions, causing panic and painstaking efforts to find out what had been coded and undo it (it was many things that were not meant to use the bank rule or needed further details) EG on the cash code screen , transactions that match bank rule are prefilled, which is great, but does not mean they are ready, so I should only be able to click…
1 voteHey! We appreciate you taking time to let us know how we could improve the Cash Coding screen for you. You're right that this is currently designed to accept the suggested reconciliations, even if you haven't ticked anything yourself.
This idea can now begin to build support with votes from other community members.

Bank Rec - Logos for transactions
It would be great if Xero allowed businesses to display logos in transaction details, similar to how many banks are now doing. This would make records more visually clear and easier to identify at a glance.
1 voteHi Ahmed, thanks for putting this idea forward!! This is not something we are pursuing at this time but keep an eye out on our Xero Blog to see upcoming improvements and additions, it may be something we do in the future ;)

Reconciliation - Overpayment Allocation Reminder
When reconciling bank accounts for money received a reminder of overpayments allocated to the clients account would be useful.
2 votesHi Tania, thanks for submitting this idea! We understand it'd be to have an automatic alert for unallocated overpayments during bank reconciliation. Without this, credits can be easily missed and left unallocated.
Right now, there’s no pop-up or indicator on the reconciliation screen to remind you about existing unallocated credits, so manual tracking is needed.
This idea is now in the Gaining Support stage. Your votes and comments help us see how important this feature is to the wider Xero community and guide what we build next.

Bank Reconciliation - Check box for 'Pay by check'
Right now, checks must be written by going to the top of the page, choosing "Spend Money," choosing the bank account, and then checking the "Pay By Check" box on the page. I regularly enter transactions right on the back account page through the "Spend Money" and "Receive Money" button. It would be great if the "Spend Money" area on the account page could just include the "Pay By Check" box so we could avoid the extra steps.
2 votesHi Jason, thanks for raising your idea for an efficient way to deal with checks when reconciling.
We've reviewed your idea and have now updated the status so that the community can get behind and support it.
Along with votes, other members can now comment to share additional detail about how your idea could improve their experience with Xero.

Bank Accounts page - Filter bank accounts by unreconciled
I have 22 bank accounts and loans on the "Bank accounts page". It would be good if I could quickly filter the unreconciled ones to the top, rather than scrolling through looking for unreconciled accounts.

Bank Reconciliation - Reconcile expense claim against multiple statement lines
When an expense claim is created via Xerome a 'spend money' transaction is created instead of a bill which means that if there is more than 1 payment against this claim I cannot opt to split the transaction when reconciling the payments. There needs to either be an option to split or the expense should create a bill rather than a 'spend money' to enable easier reconcilliation

Bank Reconciliation - Status terms need to be changed
After a transaction is matched with the online download status should be matched or cleared. Once the reconciliation report is completed the status should change to reconciled. A transactions status should not be deemed reconciled until account is actually Reconciled with the bank statement.
6 votesHi everyone, we appreciate there are different terminologies and that customers would use for different states of the bank reconciliation process within Xero. At this time we don't have changes for implementing what's bing asked here but are continuing to keep a close eye on support for this and will share if there's any progress around this here. Thanks

Reconciliation | Bank fee - Cursor default to contact
When adding a bank fee adjustment during the details entry of a reconciliation, it'd save a click to automatically place the cursor focus on the contact field. This already happens when we click to add details to a reconciliation, so it makes sense for the same behavior to occur when we click to add a bank fee adjustment. One click...hundreds of times...lots of efficiency!
2 votesBig thanks to Matthew for kicking things on this! The idea is to have the cursor default to the contact field when adding a bank fee during reconciliation. It’s a small change, but when you’re working through heaps of transactions, it can save a lot of time.
If this would make your workflow smoother, we’d love to hear more from you. Add your vote or drop a comment to let us know, it helps the product team see how much this matters across the community.
We’ll keep you posted here as things move along.

Chart of Accounts - Export to include organisation name
I’ve noticed that when we download reports from Xero in Excel, the file name usually includes the company name. However, in the case of exporting the Chart of Accounts, the exported Excel file is missing the company name.
Could you please inform the development team to ensure that the company name is included in the file name when exporting the Chart of Accounts in Excel or PDF?
Thanks for your support!

Bank Rule - Part pay existing bill (like the split function)
Ability to set up a bank rule to pay off an existing bill that is paid in monthly instalments. Currently have to manually allocate the monthly payment to a bill using the match and split function but it would be useful if a rule could be set up for this.

Bank Rec | Coding bank fees - Tab through fields
When reconciling an item that comprises an invoice plus a bank fees adjustment, it would be great to be able to use TAB to select the contact, account etc when completing the adjustment part of the transaction, like you can when coding literally anything else. Almost every time I go to code the bank fees adjustment, I type in the contact, hit tab, belatedly notice that nothing has been selected, face palm myself, then have to go back, type the contact in again, hit RETURN and then TAB, for both the contact and for the account type. When creating any…

Bank Reconciliation - Option to Save a draft reconciliation for completing later
Reconciling funds - I need to be able to save Reconciling items while I'm half way through reconciling.
eg - I receive large amounts via bank statement - eg $16,000. That $16,000 will be made up of 10 holiday home bookings. Then I break down each booking into cleaning, credit card fees, our company commission, Airbnb commission, etc etc. Sometimes there may be up to 80-100 lines of items. Currently I can not save and it is really frustrating as it can take an hour to do and then if I have to leave or can't reconcile I need to…12 votesHi everyone, thanks for sharing your feedback here. It has been a while so we just want to refresh this idea's status.
We can see how being able to save a draft reconciliation would help when you're working through more complex matches or need to step away before finishing. Having your progress saved could make it easier to pick up where you left off without starting again.
I've updated the status of this idea to Gaining Support, so please keep adding your votes and share how this would fit into your reconciliation workflow.

Bank Feeds - Square bank feed integration
Please please please Xero can you work on a proper Square bank feed integration so we don't have to keep using Amaka or other 3rd party connection apps!!!
Why can't we connect Square as a bank account with a feed similar to Stripe?!?! We are in 2024, square has been around for 15years!!I have so many issues with Square! And it is one of the most widely used payment processors!
A recent example -
A client has a coffee van and uses it to take payments for cups of coffee. I had to setup the Amaka integration so that…44 votesHi everyone, thanks for sharing your feedback on a direct bank feed for Square. We understand that using a third-party integration isn't always seamless and that a direct feed, like the one for Stripe, would make life easier when reconciling your payments.
As noted by others here, the current solution is to connect an app from the Xero App Store to bring your Square transactions into Xero, or you can continue to manually import these.
Right now, building a direct bank feed for Square isn’t in our plans. We're continuing to monitor the interest in this idea, so please keep adding your votes and comments as it helps us see the demand.

Chart of accounts - Ability to set up credit card as a liability without a feed
Set credit card accounts as liabilities, not assets. We are not a bank, so credit cards are properly liabilities. There should be no reason these accounts should be reported as assets in any circumstance.
I can't set Account Type for bank accounts unless there is a feed associated with it. Even though, I'm not sure what good that actually does, and we don't have feeds for all our accounts. "Credit Card" is an available account type for bank accounts when they are feed-enabled, so adding credit cards as bank accounts appears to be what Xero intended, and that's what we…

Reconciliation - Auto fill line with remaining total
We have a lot of transaction that include GST, but only on part of the purchase. (Mobile catering business where we shop a lot in supermarkets.) When adding details, it has been very helpful to have the transaction already split into two lines for GST-able component and GST-free component. When entering the amount of the payment that includes GST, (which has to be calculated as receipts mostly show GST included), it would be great if the GST-free line auto-filled with the balance. Obviously this wouldn't solve every breakdown of expenses, but it would save having to use the calculator where…
2 votesNot something we have immediate plans for but appreciate the detail in your idea here, and we'll start to get an idea of the votes from community in this.
In the meantime, will be dependent on how you enter transactions, but perhaps Bank Rules could enable you to apply based on proportions?
