It would be helpful to have a tracking category option attached to services

It would be highly beneficial to introduce a dedicated field within Xero Inventory for supplier product codes (supplier SKUs) that can be linked directly to a company’s internal product codes.

Many businesses operate using their own internal SKUs for sales and stock control, while suppliers use different product codes for ordering. Currently, there is no structured way to link these within Xero, which often results in manual workarounds such as adding supplier codes into descriptions or maintaining separate spreadsheets.

Proposed enhancement:

Add a “Supplier Product Code” field within each inventory item
Allow multiple supplier SKUs to be linked to a single internal product code
Link supplier SKUs to specific supplier contacts
Ensure that when managing inventory, raising purchase orders, or making sales, the system recognises and displays the correct supplier SKU alongside the internal SKU

Key benefit:
When managing inventory, placing purchase orders, or making sales, it would be extremely beneficial if users could seamlessly link and reference the supplier’s SKU alongside their own internal product code. This would reduce errors, improve efficiency, and streamline communication with suppliers.

Additional benefits:

Reduces manual input errors when ordering stock
Eliminates the need for external tracking systems
Improves procurement accuracy and speed
Enhances visibility across purchasing and inventory workflows

This functionality would significantly improve inventory management for businesses dealing with multiple suppliers and product coding systems.

Location Box would be a good benefit eg A1 A2 or just a box as you know where products are.

Need fields for EAN / GTIN / UPC / ITF information. Connecting to shopify and other channels where you have variant skus / similar skus makes each sku unique. Additionally, when generating Purchase Orders, have this information insures that your vendor 100% understands the correct sku.

Would be very handy to have a field to add the supplier to the products and services as Name field does not give you enough room and the Description is for the Supplier therefore they do not need it in their description.

The ability to set specific pricing for each product individually for each contact.

Currently having to constantly search previous pricing for items for customers as in our industry every customer requires a different price structure.

To have a section for "Last Sold" or Last Invoiced" that you could click on to see who you last sold the product to would be helpful in tracking. Not having to go through to "View all transactions" and then scroll through product numbers again.

Even in the latest transactions where it says invoice if you could either have the customer name there, or over over the invoice and it shows some details like Customer etc.

Add Additional Felds on Products and Service - to add Country of Origin an EAN numbers. When creating sales invoices, it is often a requirement to include COO and EAN numbers. This would be a useful additional feature

@ayeza : you're in the wrong forum for help. Your problem is you ticked the box for tracked inventory when you made the product. Delete/archive and start again.

@Ni Wayan : Wrong chat for that. There is a feature request for exactly that, but Xero doesn't listen to feature requests (we've been waiting since the 20teens for basic functions to be fixed)

I am trying to assign products descriptions and prices, however, there are 3 products I have inputted that I am getting an error message saying I need to edit/remove unavailable inventory. We offer services and do not inventory items. The items are: Siding | Engineered Wood, Exterior Painting | Primer, and Exterior Painting | Finish. I looked at each and cannot find anything wrong with what was inputted. We cannot print quotes until this is resolved. Please help ASAP.

I would like to ask for assistance regarding product setup in Xero. We have several products that are the same item but sold at different prices depending on the customer or sales channel.

How can we set up a product in Xero that allows for multiple different prices?

Is there a way to manage or customize price lists per customer or category?

I would like two new columns in products and services. Commodity code and country of origin. It would be useful for these to be visible in invoices but not necessarily in delivery notes.

when setting up a new item.
supplier business name, supplier item code, item name/desciption, buy price ex or inc
item sell name, invoice/internal item code, sell price inc

It would be very useful to be able to add more rows in the quotes, such as part number and customer stock number.
Also creating a database for the items, as you go. My business is repeat customer and multiple unique items. i can see that Xero is focused on customers rather than products.
