    I called Barclays last week to ask about this. They are aware of the problem but haven't flagged it to anyone switching from .net to iPortal. The guy kept apologising and said that they will continue to implement as much feedback as they can until .net is turned off (Nov 26). It's so bad that they haven't communicated with Xero (or other platforms) to provide a solution before switching off .net. Apparently all banks will be moving away from BACS soon.

    The 2 suggestions offered by the Barclays helpline are to either save the exported file to .TXT (this does work) or use a 3rd party conversion software. It's just not ideal

    The format for the BACS file is the same, but you need to change the file extension to a .txt from a .bac

    Something Xero should also update while they are fixing the credit reference field error

    We seem to be able to upload Xero BACs files in Barclays.net but not in iPortal? Do the 2 systems accept different formats?

    We will continue to use .net until they turn it off

    I agree that this would be extremely useful for me. When I started using Xero a couple of months ago, I was very surprised to find that there wasn't an option to export a Barclays compatible payment file.

    The CSV BACs payment export from Xero for Barclays is no longer in the correct format for upload to the new Barclay iPortal. This means that we have to edit the entire CSV export to fit with Barclays upload format, and we do not have the capacity to do this. We are wondering if the format of the CSV for Barclays, going forward, will be adjusted to meet the new requirements.

    Adding a vote for this to be implemented please. Barclays is a widely used bank and the Xero payments rather than the manual upload file is not always an option.

    I agree that this needs to be actioned! Please can Xero update with progress on how this functionality is being developed.

    When I asked the same question about being able to upload a suitable payment file into Barclays.net I was directed to this previous request for the same thing. Hardly helpful!

    Can the batch payment CSV file be amended to support Barclays.net while making batch payments?
