Bills - Ability to Reject bills, with a Note for the reason
Ability to reject a Draft Supplier Invoice and send a email to the supplier with why their Invoice was rejected.
To often, I receive invoices from Suppliers of whom have forgotten Purchase Order details or have missing information.
There is obviously the option to Approve an Invoice, nut nothing to reject.
I would like a function where I can Reject an Supplier Invoice and respond to the Supplier with why Invoice was rejected and this information is stored against the supplier and shown as a note on the Supplier History or.Would also be handy if there was icon or…

Bills - Warning to make clear payment not made form Xero
When paying bills through Xero there should be some warning box to state this will not take money from your bank account. This will be recorded in Xero however you will need to make payments from your bank account.

Debit Notes - Add a feature for Debit Notes issued by the supplier
To request with Xero to add in Debit Note feature, which it is issued by buyer/ purchaser to the seller where under this circumstance a debit note is given by the buyer/purchaser to the seller to reduce the total value of the bills/invoices.
Currently, only supplier can issue credit note, but as buyer in Xero can't really generate debit note if encounter return of stock/reduce total value of purchase invoices & etc

Bills - Remove "Forwarded Bill" note from the Reference field
I'd like the ability to remove the "Forwarded Bill" note from the Reference field on the Bills tabs.
Purpose: to make the data on these tabs easier to view. All of our bills are input via the Email Bill to Xero functionality - this note therefore appears on every single bill and is not only redundant but makes the actual references / invoice numbers harder to read.

Invoices - Assign billable expenses in bulk
Is would be helpful to be able assign different expenses from one bill to different customers, in one batch. At the moment you have to do it individually and then go back into the assign expenses section to do it again for each assignment, which for a bill that relates to multiple customers takes a lot of time.

Bills - Bulk assign tracking to multiple lines at a time
Could you please add a feature to fill a tracking category for every line in a bill or invoice?
I am dealing with multiple pages of line items on a bill and each bill belongs to different locations (tracking categories). Note that allocating the tracking category to the supplier account, won't work, because they deal with all our tracking locations. If we can add the tracking option once with an option to fill all the remaining lines, it will save us a lot of silly repetitive work. Currently, we have to type, select, tab, tab, tab, tab, and then repeat…17 votesHi team, this isn't something we have direct plans for developing atm, however for those with the Adviser role you could consider using Find & recode as a way to bulk assign tracking to your transactions lines.
It's important to note that it's not possible to undo a recode, so if you're unsure of how the features works at all we';d recommend trying it out in the demo company first.

Bills - Categorising hire purchase or loans from aged payables
Having the option of when adding a purchase invoice which is for a hire purchase or a loan agreement, then Xero automatically removes the aged payable balance from the listing and posts to a Hire Purchase/Loan nominal code to avoid having HPs/Loans in the payable listings - I know that this is a feature that other accounting systems have, such as FreeAgent.
1 voteI know it's been some time since you first started this idea, Harry. There's been lots of discussions from other users on Xero Central about recording Hire purchase transactions, and if you're using Xero's Fixed Assets you'll find steps on how to do this in our article here.
There's no logic in Xero to automatically detect where a transactions is for hire purchase or a loan, however if you've set up a liability account that you can record these sort of transactions to, it's a simple process of choosing this account when recording the transaction in Xero.
Tbh we don't have any immediate plans for changing how this works in Xero for the short term.

Billable expense - Automatically autofill account and project code in invoices
Currently after we assigned billable expenses to a customer and subsequently when we create a new invoice with the billable expenses, noted that the tracking category named Projects as well as account code are not auto-fill. We need to fill in manually which is time-consuming, imagine there are 100 items in the invoice.
It will be very helpful and save time if the account and project code will be auto-fill in the invoice. We really appreciate your support and looking forward this can be implemented. Thank you!

Bills - Enter days for bills due
Hi
Please can we have the ability to change the settings on suppliers bills due date to move than 31 days of the following month. We have several suppliers where we do not need to pay until 60 days after the end of the month in which the bill is issued.
Thank you
2 votesThanks for sharing here, Karen. To just get a better understanding would this be when creating a new bill, or perhaps a repeating bill? It'll be handy when sharing back with the team.
You could set up defaults in your Contacts to auto enter the due date for example as 60 days after the end of the invoice month, or similarly with a repeating bill you could set this up in the template.

Bills - Show GST/PST amount per tax type/name
Sales Tax lines in Suppliers bills - CAD
When a bill is posted as draft, Xero displays the sales tax based on the percentage of the tax and not the tax type/name. This makes it harder to review and compare and confirm with the supplier's invoice which always displays the federal tax (GST) and provincial tax (PST) in separate lines. It is even more problematic when there are more than one taxable portion in the same invoice (a portion GST and another portion GST/PST). It would be great to show the tax type in the draft mode too.6 votes -
Bills - Payment method shown on Bills (DD, BACS)
In ‘Bills Awaiting Payment’ it would be useful if you could assign (or at contact level) a payment method. Specifically so that anything due to be taken by DD isn’t inadvertently paid on a payment run.

Bills - Automatically create bill from finalised activity statement
Currently when paying activity statement obligations, you need to manually create a bill or split the payment to the various tax components. These amounts are already in the Activity Statement, so it would be useful to be able to create the bill from the finalised activity statement. This would help business to reconcile ATO payments, and to manage their cash flow as they can see when tax payments are due from their bills report.

Billable Expenses - Bulk updating of billable expenses
I have around 100 billable expenses each month, I click on the 'Billable' in Expensify and that comes through to xero, but there are many that need to be entered into xero directly.
We need a report showing unbilled expenses where we can click on the items to mark them as billable in bulk, rather than line by line, which takes up a lot of time.24 votes -
Bills to Pay: Transfer attachments when converting Purchase Order to Bill
When converting a Purchase Order to a bill it would be great if there was a way of transferring any PDFs attached to the PO to the Bill. At the moment you need to remember to do this manually.

Purchase Order - Link Purchase Order to Bill
Linking Purchase Order to Bill
Purpose: To copy the details from the po to populate the forwarded bill from email fields.
This would enable the ease of processing bills; using the data already on the po and verifying the costs accordingly.
Also this is vital, so that you can match multiple bills to the same po.
200 votesHey community, we know how this feature would really help reduce manual work, make reconciliation smoother, and give you more confidence when processing your bills, and managing orders.
Some customers have shared a possible solution for the time being of using the bill’s reference field for the PO number. We know this isn’t perfect, but might help in the interim.
I’m pleased to share that we’re refreshing purchase orders at present, and taking on board all the feedback surrounding the top requests from our customers in these forums.
Linkage between Purchase orders and Bills is a high focus for our team in this space. While we can’t give timelines atm, we’ll move the idea to In discovery and keep you updated as work progresses. 😊

Invoices/Bills to Pay - Stop automatically scrolling down the page

Bill - Show Supplier bank account when creating a bill
When you are entering a Bill to Pay, the Creditor bank account number that you have stored on their contact comes up as a window at the top, so you easily compare with the bank account number with the bank account number on the invoice. This can prompt you to check if the bank account number has been changed and you can make a phone call or follow your company guidelines regarding changing of bank account details to avoid Cyber Crime. I believe this is really important for users and will save me a lot of time. I deal with…

Email-to-Bill / Web /upload- Record sender's email
When a bill is generated through Email-to-Bill the bill history only says System Generated and 'Received through Email-to-Bill'
It would be much more valuable to see the sender's email here (e.g. 'Received through Email-to-Bill from ***@gmail.com') in case a follow-up is needed5 votes
