Thanks for all sharing and supporting how bulk reconciling transactions and suggestions that have been matched to statement lines in your bank would help your business.
It's great to see the trust you've built in Xero's capabilities to match and help you save time from manually finding and creating transactions to reconcile your bank.
Along with building on the foundations of our platforms, the teams efforts at present have been on improving the ability to create suggested transactions for more statement lines in your org - With a lot of this being backend logics there's not a heap you'll see from the front side of things but Xero's reconcile engine is getting stronger and overtime you should find even less need to create transactions in your org, yourself.
With this work underway there is no development for being able to reconcile transactions that have the 'OK' presented option atm,…

You can reconcile multiple lines in the Bank transactions tab but you need to enable the function. This article tells you how to do this - https://central.xero.com/s/article/Reconcile-an-account-transaction-without-an-imported-bank-statement#Enableordisablemarkasreconciled

It would really save time, especially for those accounts which don't have a bank feed, to be able to multi select several transactions in the account transaction tab and reconcile. We can already multi select to remove and redo, surely we could have a reconcile option too?

Thanks for your continued engagement and valuable feedback on this long-standing idea, everyone. We've been carefully reviewing your comments and want to acknowledge the clear sentiment of frustration regarding the current limitations around managing multiple addresses for contacts, particularly for invoicing and delivery purposes, and that this is a critical feature to many of you.
We want to share an update on our progress here - We're pleased to confirm that the foundational work for handling multiple addresses has been completed within the Contacts area of Xero. This was a crucial first step. Building on this, now that all customers are on the new invoicing experience our product team has moved into the discovery phase for adding multiple addresses directly within invoicing. This means they are actively exploring the best way to implement this functionality to meet your needs effectively.
We appreciate your patience as we work through the complexities…

Don't suppose there is any update on the following two ideas????
The one for having specific settings for users was updated to 'under review' in 2024!

As a compnay we supply services to property managers but they need the invoice to go directly to their landlords, to have to create multiple contacts for all the individual properties for the same client would be really complicated and would mean we don't have a proper history for the client as all invoices would be spread across multiple contacts.

As part of our data protection processing we delete all contact information after 6 years. Whilst we can remove contact information from Xero's customer account and archive a customer record it doesn't delete it and I've realised it also keeps the history which keeps a list of all transactions including the details of the contact information we've removed! This means we won't be able to comply with any data subjects request to delete their details that we receive and we would be unable to comply with the law.

This is an obvious option. Not sure who needs a statement with overdue invoices and those that are going to be sent out in the future, it make no sense. If you're sending a statement to a client it's to advise what invoices they need to pay, or the balance they owe?

Thanks for your support on the idea, everyone. We thoroughly appreciate your participation, and letting us know where you'd like to see change across Xero.
Customer statements, is an area of Xero that needs upgrades to it's technology in order to make ideas like this one here possible.
Currently, while we have plans for modernising this space soon we cannot commit to any new developments for Statements until this work has been complete. Once this has been done I'll round back to the idea here when we can reset the objectives.

The system already sends invoice reminders so why not statements?

Hey everyone, back again with some progress to share with you all here. Our product team have made good headway in this space over the past few months and we'll soon be at a stage where we'd like to invite users in for an early release!
As a foundational step to enabling this feature, we're currently rolling out the ability for your customers to view statements online, so that they always have a real-time view of what's due and overdue. We're aiming to roll out a "Pay" button to statements later this year, so that your customers can then pay multiple outstanding invoices in one go.
If you'd be interested in being a part of our early release, please fill out this form.✍️
While we may not be able to invite everyone who signs up into the early release, I'll round back with more updates on this idea to…

Hi Kelly, any further updates on this? It was suggested 12 years ago and your update in February said it was being looked into, would be good to have the option a little bit quicker than the 12 years it took to be considered?

Hello all,
I raised this with Xero in April 2023 when the prices were increased. After much emailing back & forth & some conversations with the customer support team I received an email from Richie in the Leadeship team who stated it wasn't part of their near term plans. As it was first raised in 2012, this does seem very poor.
I have recently posted on LinkedIn about this idea as well as the requirment to be able to have different user access levels (other than the all or nothing currently avaliable) If you want to also add your voice to this, hopefully they may be more inclined to listen on that platform? https://www.linkedin.com/feed/update/urn:li:activity:7159090871684988928/An error occurred while saving the comment Nikki Velinsky commented

That is really disappointing Kelly & I think very poor client service from Xero. This is a very basic function and an obvious benefit to all. I can't see why this shouldn't be a simple fix nor why Xero, who are providing an accounting software, think that giving the ability to send out statements with multilple invoices & a final balance is sufficient & would not need a facility to pay the balance??? It makes no logical sense. It would be better to remove the option to send a statement, as what is the point if the end client can't then pay it? Makes chasing outstanding balances really hard work.
An error occurred while saving the comment Nikki Velinsky commented
This seems really obvious. We send out statements to clients with three or 4 invoices on and they have to then find the invoice to pay them individually. Please add a pay link to the statement for bulk payments.
An error occurred while saving the comment Nikki Velinsky commented
It does seem crazy that the system automatically sends out statements but then clients don't have the option to pay the full balance and have to pay the invoices individually. For an accounting system this must be one of the most basic functions that should be available?
An error occurred while saving the comment Nikki Velinsky commented
We have clients who may have multiple jobs with us, all on different dates so it would be good if they could pay their different invoices in one go, rather than individually.

Hi community, I’d like to share the new Xero Central page for new invoicing that we noted was coming.
Along with updates to individual ideas on the site here, this page will become the one source for key feature rollouts including:
- what’s available in new invoicing right now,
- timelines for features and enhancements going live in new invoicing, as well as
- a comparison table between the classic and newer versions of invoicing.
We'll be updating this page regularly.
Remember, you can keep switching between the two products between now and September. Thanks

Agree..... So many ideas that have been ignored for years. As a minimum if it can't be implemented the least Xero could do is let users know so that they can make a dcision to either manage without OR move to a software that can. The lack of communication is very frustrating and very poor service.

Hi everyone, we appreciate all your feedback on how we could evolve roles for customers using Xero. As you can see through the ideas on the platform, there are a wide range of combinations of permissions our customers want to see us build. As user roles impact all areas of the product, there are many considerations we must factor in when assessing how to solve for majority of our customers needs.
We’re beginning to conduct research on the current landscape and how we might approach some of the most predominant needs in roles for our customers. Front footing this, the discovery of this work will be long winded and there will be multiple phases of research and forms of engagement with users that’ll help shape the path ahead in this space.
We’d like to invite you, our community to be part of this research and discovery. This may involve interviews…An error occurred while saving the comment Nikki Velinsky commented

Would be really helpful to be able to allocate access to different users, as within the company different employees have different roles and therefore require access levels, to different parts of the accountng system.

It would be really useful to filter the awaiting payment invoices too, by contact group, for when bulk payments come in.

When you search for this option there are about 34 comments by people needing this function, so the voting needs to reflect this.

Hey community, we get the vying interest in this and how having a copy of the invoice sent within Xero would help when following up with debtors, or in disputes.
As many of you have pointed out, the best option that exists within Xero for now is to use the 'send me a copy' checkbox. This gives you a solid record in your own email inbox to fall back on. While it takes a little setting up you could create a filter in your email inbox to route these to a specific folder for reference.
Another smart tip as shared here could be setting up a dedicated email address to file these automatically, and keep things organised.
Though not a solve for the body of the email that's being asked here, a change that we recently made for invoices is that all sent invoices will include the primary To: email address…

When chasing payments from clients a log of all the communication made including emails is really important.

Post a payment against multiple bills. At the moment if a receipt comes in from a client I can select multiple invoices and apply a deposit. However if I pay a batch of invoices for a supplier I can't do the same, as if I select multiple bills I can only make a payment, but we don't have the bank linked to pay out of, I just want to record the payment against the invoices.

Hi community, we'd like to confirm that enabling phone numbers to be stored against additional people within a contact record is not something we have plans to develop at this time. This may be a function we look to explore in the long-term so we're still interested to get a clearer understanding of users that'd like to see this developed, and will continue to track this through the conversation here. If there's any change we will let you know on on this idea.

In the contacts details there is currently Phone/Fax/Mobile and Direct dial. It would be nice to have one telephone field initially and then be able to select what type of number it is. Then be able to add further numbers if needed, as you can with the Add another person. It would also be good to have Other and be able to type a specific detail. Fax numbers are pretty much obsolete and it would be good to have an accounts contact as well as Head office etc.

Hi Sharolyn, if you go to the ? help option at the top of the Xero page you will see the option to 'Enable mark as Reconciled' This will allow you to tick all the items that you want to reconcile - you then have the ability to mark all selected as reconciled in the Accounts transaction tab.....hth
