Hi community, we appreciate your continued feedback on having different default email addresses for various transaction types in Xero contacts, and the manual steps involved to ensure you're communicating with the right person for different purposes.

Currently, one way of managing this in Xero would be to include every additional person on a contact record in emails, and then removing those that aren't required when sending each transaction. However we totally get this isn't the ideal solution.

While being able to set different email addresses for differing transaction types is something we want to address longer term, like the idea for multiple addresses work for this feature requires cross-collaboration between teams in order to achieve.

Once the multiple addresses feature is live this is something we'll be able to consider more closely and provide further updates on.

We do regularly review all ideas here, and your input is vital. We'll…

Many businesses have a dedicated inbox for accounts, but in Contacts we can only add people (to receive invoices etc.). This means we add 'people' called First Name "Billing" Second Name "Inbox" or "Accounts" "Inbox" or similar. Can we have a field that recognises a digital recipient, especially now with AI agents and automated accounting processes.

Thanks for your feedback and for sharing your thoughts on this idea. We understand having to untick the "Show (currency) items only" adds extra clicks and slows you down. Our current default setting is designed to help prevent common reconciliation mistakes. Most users primarily reconcile transactions in their local currency, so defaulting to that view helps keep the screen less cluttered and reduces the risk of accidental mismatches with foreign currency transactions, which can be complex. For now, the process is to untick the "Show [currency] items only" box whenever you need to reconcile a foreign currency transaction. We know this isn't a perfect solution for everyone, but we wanted to provide some context on why the current design is in place. We'll continue to listen to your feedback and will let you know if anything changes. Thanks for being part of the Xero community!

Hi team, apologies for the mismatch in my last update and appreciate the feedback we received on this.

While our new bills upload feature might be handy for some customers in automating their bills process, reviewing the idea here I can totally understand how this does not solve for where you receive an invoice within the body of an email.

We'll open this idea back up, and I want to be transparent that this isn't something we have direct plans for developing atm, however we'll continue to keep eyes on the support here and share if there is any progress surrounding this, here. Thanks

This is becoming increasingly frequent (bill content in an HTML email not as a pdf attachment). Hubdoc can read email content, so bringing that capability into bill processing should be achievable.
