Even basic reports require downloading to Excel and data manipulation. For example - Payroll Tax. To create a report to allow calculation of payroll tax is an exercise in frustration with Xero. Other packages allow you to create the report once and then save it as a custom report.
Just another field where Xero has really dropped the ball.Anne Norman supported this idea · -

Hi community, we understand your needs in this feature and want to assure you were taking on board all your feedback.
As many of you accustom to this idea will know, multiple addresses requires a complex solution. It's been something we’ve been moving towards for some time and we’ve done a lot of back end work that will allow us to bring it to you in the future.
We have 12 different products within Xero that rely on contact data, as well as many of our app partners. This means that contacts need to seamlessly flow across technology, products and all connections on Xero. And that’s exactly what we’ve been working on.
One of the reasons we announced the retirement of classic invoicing is because many of the features being asked for, just can’t be brought into classic invoicing. The old technology has too many technology limitations to enable this.…

Xero has created twice as much work for me, without the basic functionality that even Open Source packages have. We have one customer that may have 100 different site addresses in one year, and Xero is creating a nightmare.

Hi community 👋
Thanks for sharing and supporting this idea - while I don't have an update specific to this one, I thought you might be interested in the following:
Our AU Payroll team are testing some changes to Payroll reconciliation. The idea to have an automatic monthly payroll tax report is highly associated with payroll reconciliation and we feel that voters here would also have an interest in payroll reconciliation. They would love to hear from you!
They’re aiming to conduct some 1 on 1 interviews between 6 Feb - 16 Feb 2024, the interviews will last 45 minutes.
The purpose of the session: Participants will be asked to help with testing a prototype concept designed to enhance the AU payroll reconciliation process.
They aim to discover:
- Whether this conceptual solution meets your specific Payroll needs, and if it adds value to your Payroll reconciliation process?
- Whether this conceptual…
An error occurred while saving the comment Anne Norman commented@Arlene - as you will discover, Xero "support" is non existent. The idea of introducing features that customers actually needs is a fallacy. They just want things to look pretty, with functionality coming a poor last. Get used to having to use Excel to get any meaningful data ........
An error occurred while saving the comment Anne Norman commentedSo - from Xero "support" .... "As you may be aware, currently, Xero Payroll doesn't calculate payroll tax automatically. It has not been included in our Xero Product and there are currently no plans to include this."
In other words - they want us to look for alternatives
Anne Norman supported this idea ·An error occurred while saving the comment Anne Norman commentedHear hear and hear. I just love having to download payroll data and save in excel every month, and use Crtl+F to find payroll items excluded from payroll tax .... when it was a one click report with Reckon Accounts.

An error occurred while saving the comment Anne Norman commentedComing from Reckon, I find this very annoying. Open source packages such as GnuCash have this basic functionality, why cant an expensive paid for package? Yes, you can add in things like 433 / 433.1 / 433.2 etc etc, but they are separate accounts, not a parent / child relationship.

@Parker adam - you obviously havent been using Xero for long. Critical needs are simply put in the too hard basket by Xeros so-called "support" ........
