Hey everyone, we've been following the conversation closely and we want to acknowledge how important this is for many of you.

Atm, we’re on a long journey to provide more controls within Xero features that our customers need. Being such a broad idea that touches many areas of our platform, we’d like to encourage adding your votes to specific user permissions that matter most to you, such as:

My new companies are setup in Quickbooks Online because of this issue. QBO has much better roles defined. GAAP is not possible with the current roles that Xero has, putting customers at risk.

Hi everyone, a year on from my last engagement we wanted to provide an update for you all here.

As many will be across we're in the midst of making a lot of iterations and improvements to new invoicing leading up to the retirement of classic invoicing in September (2024).

We have a fair amount of work lined up in the teams schedule over the coming months and to give an indication there isn't any committed plans around a function to add interest to invoices.

That said, we do have a team that have picked up and are considering how we might solve this with the technology in new invoicing - It's early days on this yet, but I'll share if there's any progress on this for you all here.

In the meantime, as has been shared by others over time there are a few ways you could accomplish this…

Our new companies are being setup in Quickbooks Online since that has late fees built in. I wish Xero would prioritize this.

Thanks to everyone that’s shared interest in being able to write-off invoices or bills as a bad debt. We understand how a direct feature would enhance your use of Xero and flows when trading.

As shared in our last update, while not a one-click solution we appreciate the needs expressed for being able to record bad debts right now, and have a Xero Central article that provides a way of currently accommodating this in Xero today.

There are also other options that have been shared by members in this conversation that some may want to explore.

We want to be open that specific bad debts functionality isn’t planned for invoices or bills at this time, but we understand the needs here and it’ll continue to remain high on our team’s radar when reviewing and prioritising their roadmap.

With differing product teams and needs for this functionality within invoices and bills…

Thanks for your continued engagement and valuable feedback on this long-standing idea, everyone. We've been carefully reviewing your comments and want to acknowledge the clear sentiment of frustration regarding the current limitations around managing multiple addresses for contacts, particularly for invoicing and delivery purposes, and that this is a critical feature to many of you.

We want to share an update on our progress here - We're pleased to confirm that the foundational work for handling multiple addresses has been completed within the Contacts area of Xero. This was a crucial first step. Building on this, now that all customers are on the new invoicing experience our product team has moved into the discovery phase for adding multiple addresses directly within invoicing. This means they are actively exploring the best way to implement this functionality to meet your needs effectively.

We appreciate your patience as we work through the complexities…

Hi community, we appreciate your insights on this idea. We recognise that having depreciation excluded from the Cash basis P&L can limit how useful the report is for understanding overall business performance.

The distinction you’ve highlighted between a cash basis Profit and Loss report and a Statement of Cash Flows is a helpful one and gives us a better sense of why this feature matters for your reporting and compliance needs.

For now, creating manual journals is the only available option to include depreciation in cash basis reports. While not ideal, it’s a feasible approach if you need to reflect these adjustments.

We want to be upfront here that this isn't something we have roadmapped right now, and not likely to be planned soon.

This may be something we revisit in the future and will make sure to share any updates if the situation changes.
