Hi community, thanks for sharing your continued interest here. We appreciate the importance of having assurance that mail you send from Xero is being received, and that being able to send from your own company email would increase confidence in this process.
I can confirm this idea has been regularly reviewed by our product teams, and being able to send from your own company email is on their radar. Currently there are other priorities, and platform work that requires their attention, before they can consider this more deeply.
We'll move the idea back to submitted so we can continue to gauge the interest through votes here. When there is opportunity to pick this up, I will share any news with you all here.

FEBRUARY 2024 IS COMING
As previously mentioned, Google and Yahoo are intensifying security efforts, requiring all email senders to comply with domain authentication by February 2024. I have just received confirmation that other service providers have begun taking action on the upcoming changes.
We have a MailerLite account that we no longer use, but, importantly, we received an email regarding this matter, which I have attached below. Essentially, they state that we need to configure domain authentication; otherwise, our emails will not be delivered.
Xero, do you still believe it's a good idea to ignore this problem?

If you've received a survey request from Xero recently, please make sure you highlight this issue when you fill it out. Your input is crucial in exerting pressure for positive change.
I'm also curious if anyone has any ideas on spreading awareness about this matter among a broader community of Xero users. There's a good chance that many of us are facing this issue, and by raising awareness, we can collectively put more pressure on Xero to make this change.

Wow! This is spectacular. 10 years of requests/complaints from multiple users to get someone from Xero to spend 5 minutes dumping it in the trash. Well done Xero, we're switching to QuickBooks. At least they don't increase prices 2 times per year. We can get a first-year subscription for the price of two months with Xero. Even after the first year, their prices are still 3 times cheaper. Will recommend everyone to do the same so they can feel the pain.

I commented earlier that their marketing BS has nothing to do with the real functionality they provide.
I guess someone has to be scammed, lose tens of thousands, take Xero to court and prove it was their fault (because everyone's invoices are sent from the same address).
Perhaps after that Xero will take this issue seriously. An error occurred while saving the comment Konstantin Ryabenko commented
Absolutely agree with Christopher. If someone can’t do it, they can hire IT pros. We setup this for Stripe without any issues and never contacted their support.
As for Xero competitors not doing any better, I believe QuickBooks allows to use gmail for sending invoices from your own email address. This is probably not the best way of doing it, but better then nothing. An error occurred while saving the comment Konstantin Ryabenko commented
About 80% of our invoices are paid late. Xero admitted this fact by doing the "Get paid on time" challenge recently. Instead of wasting time on something that will have little effect or no effect at all, perhaps it would be better to analyse the root causes of this issue.
Most of our clients don't take seriously emails that are coming from a different address, some just ignore them thinking it's a scam or some never saw them because they were marked as spam.
So, Xero, perhaps 10 years is enough to keep silent and you can finally start working on tools your clients desperately need.
We recently tested QuickBooks and seriously considering switching to them. I'm not saying they don't have any issues, but their subscription is much cheaper, so we'll get more value for our buck.

Thanks for your support on the idea, everyone. We thoroughly appreciate your participation, and letting us know where you'd like to see change across Xero.
Customer statements, is an area of Xero that needs upgrades to it's technology in order to make ideas like this one here possible.
Currently, while we have plans for modernising this space soon we cannot commit to any new developments for Statements until this work has been complete. Once this has been done I'll round back to the idea here when we can reset the objectives.

Hi everyone, a year on from my last engagement we wanted to provide an update for you all here.
As many will be across we're in the midst of making a lot of iterations and improvements to new invoicing leading up to the retirement of classic invoicing in September (2024).
We have a fair amount of work lined up in the teams schedule over the coming months and to give an indication there isn't any committed plans around a function to add interest to invoices.
That said, we do have a team that have picked up and are considering how we might solve this with the technology in new invoicing - It's early days on this yet, but I'll share if there's any progress on this for you all here.
In the meantime, as has been shared by others over time there are a few ways you could accomplish this…

Would possibly need to consider the # of communications individual contacts are receiving if you had unlimited reminders.
To get a sense of what our customers would be looking for - do you have a # of reminders in mind that would most suit your business, Ryan? 🙂

More than 80% of our invoices are paid late and sometimes we have to send up to 10 reminders over the course of 3-4 months to get paid.
So, 5 automatic invoice reminders aren’t getting the job done and we have to send more manually, which is quite time-consuming and we often forget to do that.
Please, Xero, increase the number of automatic invoice reminders up to 10.
