Hey everyone! Thanks so much for your feedback and for sharing your thoughts on this. It’s clear from the support this idea has gained that automated reminders for superannuation payments could be a huge help for many of you. We hear you and can see how this could make managing your obligations smoother.
Our product team has taken a look at this and we’re exploring how we can build it in to help you stay on top of the proposed PayDay Super changes. It’s on our roadmap, and we’ll keep you posted as things move forward. 🙂

Hey everyone, we appreciate a lot of recent activity and trend in this idea especially with Pay Day Super coming.
As mentioned in my last updated this is an idea our product teams are keeping a close pulse on and we want you to know this is high on our agenda, likely to be picked up later this year.
While we can't provide any commitments as yet, we'll share another update here as soon as there's progress.

since Xero isn't providing updates, I will.
I raised this as a support case on 15Jan26.
Responses were swift and extensive, but fell short of generating any solid action. After almost 2 months I'm weary of the daily emails every time someone adds their voice here, so I posted this on my support case today:"I have more feedback.
Just letting you know it's tedious getting emails about this via the 'ideas' forum as more people foresee this as critical, I think it's now 7th highest votes and about 3rd highest in comment count.
As far as everyone there is concerned they're being totally ignored by Xero, since the latest reply from Xero is "there are no immediate plans for developing this" and that dates back to July 2025. Which seems to solidly refute the claim of multiple CS agents that the ideas forum is "regularly monitored by the product team". Unless by 'regular' they mean "once every 6 months", and even then Xero is now overdue to provide an update to the masses."
I got a phone call from Xero support within 5 minutes. They verbally assured me things are moving, and asked permission for my case to be passed on to yet another department to ask more questions.

I've raised a case with customer support, and they are quite responsive and say all the right things, but despite my multiple suggestions they don't post here. Bizarre. It's like their customer support systems are disjointed and dysfunctional, I guess like the software itself. Bizarrely, customer support pointed me to this post, despite me having already commented and upvoted, and the fact its completely abandoned in terms of Xero representation from Xero.
I get the impression it's now on their list of things to do, hence the mysterious status here of 'accepted', but who knows what are all the various statuses and what order they proceed, how long it takes or what the criteria is for acceptance and progression between steps.
I suggest:
1/ make sure you upvote this
2/ raise a support case to increase the pressure for them to fix this, or at least to get more information on the status, since this clearly isn't a place where updates are posted, despite the copy-and-paste post from Kelly Munro saying "If there is any change to share around this we’ll update you all through this idea."An error occurred while saving the comment

OK, my CS response was:
"I appreciate your request for additional superannuation authorisers in Xero Payroll. I understand how this feature would be beneficial, especially with the upcoming changes to Australian 'payday super' and for businesses with multiple approvers or dual signatory requirements.
Currently, Xero Payroll only allows for a single authoriser for superannuation payments. However, I want to assure you that our product team is aware of this limitation and has noted the request from customers like yourself for multiple authorisers.
The ability to configure multiple approvers. is something our team is considering for future updates to Payroll. We're always looking for ways to improve our product and make it more flexible for businesses of all sizes.
While I can't provide a specific timeline for when this feature might be implemented, please know that your feedback is valuable and helps shape the future of Xero Payroll. I've linked the request from Xero Product Ideas which is our forum for customers to request and support change to the product team below."
which confirms there is currently not even a plan to start implementing this, let alone a timeframe.
We need more squeaky wheels

"Xero response to my support request ..."
I raised a support request just now.
Lets see how many of us get the same cut-and-paste middle finger. An error occurred while saving the comment

ironically, Xero is telling us to "get ready for payday super".

I think the only way this week get any attention from Xero is to keep posting here.
Did you hear the rumour behind why the product is called Xero ?
Because that's how much they care about urgent customer requestsAn error occurred while saving the comment

I work in a company with 2 people. Even for me, there's no way I want super payments to be disable because I'm on leave. How do big companies handle this ? Can the approval code be directed to an email instead ?

Yes, I was horrified to find that Xero has Zero graphical template editors. Our 20 year old version of QuickBooks had one, it was a little painful, but it worked fine, and what you saw was what you got. I feel like its the late 1980s again, trying to create a professional template with lines of code and no preview.
On top of that, there isn't even a 'preview' function any more in the template editor. So you're completely in the dark to see what effects your edit have made until you create a dummy invoice.
Then when you search for help, everyone is complaining that the preview doesn't even match what goes into the pdf !I also love the thought police deciding to call them 'branding themes' rather than templates. If they had any clue about branding, you wouldn't get the message "Your image will be scaled to a maximum of 400 pixels wide and 120 pixels high" when uploading a logo. Anything larger than a postage stamp will look grainy as all getout.
There's also Zero support for vector images.

+1 for this. Xero support for project based professional services businesses is ....disappointing to say the least. The Xero projects app is woefully unreliable, and hasn't been updated for 15 months. There are many timekeeping app options, but I'm yet to find one that integrates with Xero and properly passes projects and tasks that may have a different charge rates for different projects.
And the inability to simply import csv timesheets is astounding.

not sure why this idea is still "in development", since there seems little point of having a reminder when in about 3 months it'll be redundant with payday super meaning super payments must be done immediately every payday, not monthly /quarterly.
Maybe the resources working on this could be swung across to implement a burning issue of enabling multiple super payment authorisors
