Thanks for your engagement with this idea to allow setting specific working days for part-time employees in AU Payroll. We understand wanting to handle these common working arrangements smoothly and accurately.
We know this is a key area for improvement and we'd like to look into this deeper in the long term, however it’s not in our roadmap just yet.
Right now you'll need to manually adjust leave requests.
We'll be sure to provide another update as we move forward with our investigations.

Hi everyone, we recognise that a more customisable payslip would provide greater clarity for your employees, better reflect your brand, and save you valuable time.
This isn’t in our immediate roadmap, however we get the benefit this would bring, and it’s on our radar for potential future development. Our product team will consider this idea as they do further roadmap planning.
We’ll update you here if we have any news to share. Thanks

Hey everyone, thanks for all the votes and feedback on this idea! Our product teams have definitely taken note and understand the effort involved in automatic report generation and sending.
While it's something we see as valuable in the long run, it's not currently on our development roadmap with a specific timeframe. We're still keen to hear from those of you who would find this feature helpful, so please keep the conversation and votes coming. We'll be sure to update you if our plans change.

Xero has told us this feature is “valuable in the long run” but “not currently on [the] development roadmap”. Then in 2024 Xero buys Syft, and suddenly an admin posts: “You can now automate report scheduling with Syft Analytics! This is the stand alone product that Xero bought in late 2024. It’s incredible.” So a basic workflow we have begged for in core Xero is only “incredible” once we pay for an extra product Xero now owns.
From an investor slide, Xero even boasts that it has “added Syft Analytics features … to different business plans to drive improved mix”... meaning using Syft to push customers up the pricing ladder instead of giving long requested functionality to the people already paying.
That is exactly why this feels so wrong. Xero, if you want to prove this forum is not just a lead generator for upsells, ship automated report generation and emailing as a free, native feature in Xero, not as a paywalled Syft add on.

Hi everyone, thanks for your continued engagement and support for the idea of making tracking categories mandatory in Xero. We really appreciate you sharing your insights on the benefits that adding this feature would bring to your financial reporting and month-end processes.
Right now, you could use find and recode to assign a tracking option to any transaction lines that are currently unassigned.
Regarding the future of this idea, we've carefully reviewed all your feedback and the critical need you've expressed for this feature. While we understand the value and time-saving potential this improvement would bring, we want to be transparent that making tracking categories mandatory across all relevant transactions isn't on our roadmap for development. If our position of this changes in time, we'll share an update for everyone, here.

Australian employers using Xero Payroll (AU) may be unable to customise payslip templates to remove hours and derived hourly rates for salaried employees. As a result, payslips can display salary payments in an “hours x rate” format even where the employee is engaged and paid on an annual salary basis, not an hourly contract. This presentation can create legal compliance risk and operational risk by confusing the pay basis, potentially misrepresenting employment terms, and complicating audit, employee communications, and third party interpretation (for example lenders or regulators). A solution is required that allows payslips to accurately reflect salaried arrangements, while still meeting Fair Work record keeping requirements and supporting STP reporting, without implying hourly employment where it does not apply.
