Hi team, thanks again for sharing your feedback on new Workpapers with us here.
Our teams are working on an improvement where we'll be updating "Variance" to 'Change" and will add a new column called "Variance" that'l be current year vs supporting balance.
I'll round back to let you know once it's released.

Thanks for all the engagement and sharing how valuable this feature is to managing your clients with Xero.
I understand the desire for another update and am pleased to share that this is something our product teams will be addressing and are working on developing within the new unified client experience.

Hey Everyone! Thanks for the feedback on the New Workpapers experience. Xero Ask is available on the Classic Workpapers but as yet not available in the new Workpapers experience. We've reviewed your idea and moved it to Gaining Support and now it's up to the community to get behind and support it. Make sure you share your idea with any colleagues that this could benefit so they can add their vote too!

Hi Gareth, appreciate your feedback on new Xero Workpapers here. Atm, you can refresh the pack after making template changes for them to pull through.
It'd be good to get more understanding of the scenarios in which you'd like to delete packs - For example when or why you'd want to delete packs and the sort of users you'd want to allow to delete packs to help us better assess your idea here. Thanks!

Hi team, apologies we jumped the gun a touch on the idea here.
Like previously mentioned, right now you can attach documents and links, set flexible workpaper periods, and use basic calculation sheets in the new experience.
Currently our team are exploring how we might further enhance Workpapers with variations for tailored templates, and support direct importing of reports to improve the way data moves across your compliance steps. We'll share as we have more updates for you around this.

Further to this - the ability to rearrange them. If I add one to the Master in Settings, then it puts them at the top of the list but we need them in the order they need to be done

Hi there, thank you for the feedback!
It sounds like the extra clicks to open the upload pop-up are adding some friction to your workflow compared to the previous version.
We definitely want the New Workpapers to feel as efficient as possible for you. Since direct drag-and-drop to a line item isn't currently available without opening the attachment window first, I’ve moved this to ‘Gaining Support’ to gauge interest from other users who’d like to see this streamlined.

Appreciate your feedback, Bryony. Our product teams have a close eye on the feedback coming through for automated bank rec being in beta atm.

Agreed on this. I tried it and it would auto reconcile a client payment against the wrong client. Same as the current system where it "suggests" anyone who owes the same amount. If you have a heap of xero subs where the amounts are all the same, then thats a lot of potential for errors.

This was brought up in Sept 2025, and In Development by November. But here we are, doesn't seem to have progressed at all. Have any workpapers/features/functions been updated since they were released? I've actually given up on testing them entirely because it's taking longer exporting our in house workpapers and dragging them into these workpapers
