    Thanks for sharing this idea about setting future prices for inventory items.

    It's now up to the community to get behind and support your idea. Other members can now add their votes and comments about how this could also benefit them.

    In the meantime, you'd need to edit the price at the relevant date, either manually or by exporting and importing your items if you need to update lots of prices at the same time.

    We’ve reviewed your idea and moved it to Gaining support, which means others in the community can now vote, comment, and share how this would benefit them too. The more perspectives added, the clearer the picture for our product team, so feel free to expand on your workflow to help spark that conversation.

    In the meantime, the best way to calculate ROI is to pull the relevant figures from the Xero Analytics dashboard and work it out manually.

    Thanks Mark, we understand that being able to insert multiple inventory item lines in a single action—using a template or similar tool—would save time for many businesses. This idea has received strong interest from the Xero community. At this stage, the idea remains open for voting and discussion on our Product Ideas portal. While it is not currently on our published roadmap, our product team is actively monitoring feedback and engagement. We recognize the value this feature could bring and want to ensure we capture as much input as possible from our users.

    Thanks for this suggestion. You're right that currently the tax inclusive/exclusive setting on the invoice would change the overall invoice total.

    In the meantime, you might want to tell all staff to enter invoices with the same tax treatment, to avoid accidentally under/overcharging for the same item. If you create all invoices on a tax-inclusive basis, you can enter the default sales price for your items including GST. Otherwise, you would need to enter the prices excluding GST.

    Hi, thanks for sharing this idea about setting the opening stock for a tracked item at the same time you add it.

    Now it's up to the community to get behind and support your idea with their votes and comments about how this would help them, too.

    As for how this is currently done, as well as setting the item's starting Quantity on Hand, there needs to be an accounting record for where the existing Value comes from.

    The current process is to add the item(s) as Tracked and then either:

    • Importing the opening balances for your tracked items. *This option is only for when you first start using Tracked Inventory in your organisation*.
    • Entering an approving a Supplier Bill to record the first purchase of the item.
    • Entering an Adjustment (Increase Quantity-type) to move the value from another account (the adjustment account) to the Inventory Asset Account.

    Hi everyone, thanks for raising this. It’s clear that being able to show stock on hand without exposing cost price is important for many teams. Right now, the lack of that level of permission control can mean choosing between giving staff the visibility they need and protecting sensitive financial information.

    We’ve moved this idea to Gaining Support so we can track interest and highlight to our product teams how valuable a dedicated permission toggle would be. Please keep sharing your use cases and voting—this context really helps demonstrate the impact.

While we're seriously taking on board your feedback for how and why being able to hold selections across pages would be helpful when processing batch payments, we want to be open that this isn't a focus area for product at this time.

    We want to thank everyone for the attention this idea has drawn. It’s clear from the many votes and detailed comments that having the ability to pay supplier bills with BPAY from Xero is a high-value feature for our Australian customers.

    We understand the desire in this and see how this functionality would enhance your use of Xero, and it is definitely on our radar.

    As you may have heard, our product team's current focus is on developing our bill payment solutions like we’ve delivered in the UK to more regions, with sights currently set on AU.

    Hi everyone, appreciate this idea has been in a state of Under review fro some time. While it was something our teams we're looking into, this work has had to be put down with other priorities that have transcended.
