  1. Just wanted to feedback some issues found during brief testing of Hubdoc (as potential replacement for Dext; we'll not be proceeding at this stage) ... here's what we found:
    - different naming conventions - “Credit Note/Refund” equivalent (not sure what it is?) not as intuitive
    - for multi-line entries, it doesn’t tell you what the remaining balance on a bill is (it does provide running total of lines entered but requires external 'calc' action)
    - clunkier on mobile phone - have to log in each time whereas Dext is just snap and go
    - no option to do multiple page…

    Appreciate your feedback, Rich. It really helps if each idea you is raised separately. This way others know exactly what they're adding their vote for here in community, our product teams can get a sense of interest in a particular feature and we can keep users updated if there are plans made specifically for that functionality.

The new invoicing page design has created a bloated feature-packed version of invoicing that, whilst great for companies who regularly email or print invoices for posting, is an absolute pain in the proverbial to navigate for companies such as ours who only create invoices for accounting purposes, and never send them out.

    For background context, we are a small family-owned investment property company who create invoices in Xero corresponding to rental income statements we receive from letting agencies. We only create the invoices once we've received the statements, so the original invoicing feature was perfect for us. Its replacement is…

  3. Moving employees from Part-time to causal or visa versa without deleting them!

    The Solve: Just have a date range/calendar within their employee info for what classification of employee they are during that date range.
    Transitioning employees causes undue messiness of information, which is counter to the point of the software. You have 2 employees that are the same person. Which also counts towards how many employees a business has for xero pricing purposes.

  4. There is a good calendar in payroll that I would like to add to my dashboard so I can keep up to date with daily requirements and also see availability of staff including when they will be on leave from my dashboard

  5. The new Payroll Activity and Summary Report is not as user friendly as the old one. It was much easier to read and find your employee name and net amount due on the older version. I also don't like how half an employees details can be on one page and the rest on the next page. I would like to revert to the old style, if possible?

  6. An option to see how many 'days' due in preview section for the new version of invoicing

    Could we have an option in xero please to select 'due 30 days' from when we approve/send an invoice ?
    In the classic invoicing when you preview it (before approving and sending it) it would always say how many 'days' it is due as well as the 'due date' this helps as we expect payment within 30 days of the customer receiving the invoice not 30 days from the invoice date.

  7. The new invoicing alerts you to a credit on a customer's account if you APPROVE an invoice but if you APPROVE AND ADD ANOTHER invoice it simply moves right on and does not mention the credit. Please could the apply credit option be available regardless of the way you finalise your invoice.

    1. Enable partial sale of assets - allows one to dispose of assets that have been added as one transaction.

    2. Enable bulk sale of assets - allowing one to select all assets involved within a sale to be sold for one purchase price i.e. sale of a fitout of a Hairdresser, over the years they had purchased numerous items and completed numerous renovations.

  10. We are forwarding inbound invoice emails to the Xero processing address, but, many suppliers send multiple copies (up to 5 or 6) saying "Invoice", "Invoice due in x -7 days", "Invoice due today", "Invoice paid", each with the invoice.

    Going through the duplicates screen is time consuming.

    Please make this easier for bulk actions:

    1) a keep this and delete others (in a group)
    2) a delete all (in a group) - sometimes we get statements or similar sent and right now we can delete the duplicates but have to go back to the invoice list to delete the original.

  11. Could we please add the 'Due Date' option to the Aged Receivables Summary Report. I love the simplicity of this report versus the Detailed report but unlike the detailed report, there is no option to add the due date.

    Thanks for the feedback, Jodi. When you say you'd like to add the Due date I'm guessing this would be as a column to the report? One thing that would make this tricky is where you have multiple due dates for a customer with multiple invoices in the period the reports being run - what date would you expect to show here?

  12. Being able to turn off "suggest previous entries" can prevent clients being to trigger happy with the "Ok's" in the bank rec screen. Unfortunately, this option does not flow through to the Xero APP. Can this please be updated.

  13. The problem is if you set a deduction item in payroll on Xero it doesn't give option to pick P&L nominal account, where reimbursements to employees should be coded. The only work around are journals, which is ineffective when you have clients posting payroll themselves and they need management reports each month, so you have to reanalyze and repost their payroll.

  14. I would like to be able to flag or log a Xero issue, without having to raise a case.
    Sometimes my colleagues and I are having the same issue at the same time with Xero. Eg. Dashboard not displaying correctly, unable to change organisation from the dropdown menu. But when we go to https://status.xero.com/ everything is showing as "Operational".

    An option of being able to click onto a region; setting; choose the issue would be great. That means that Xero could be alerted quickly if there is a wider issue, or if it's an isolated issue.

    Hi everyone, we appreciate wanting to help Xero identify and raise issues asap. While we may consider changes to this overtime, to be upfront there are no immediate plans for changing the current method to raise these sort of issues with us. There are a number of troubleshooting steps our specialists will work through with a customer to rule out external factors that could be impacting your experience with Xero, and they'll get the right detail to investigate, triage and escalate if the cause does appear to stem from within the product.

    One area we know customers can commonly run into trouble with is bank feeds, and we do have work going on atm to enable customers to send us an alert if they are experiencing trouble with a bank accounts feed from within their organisation. You can stay up to date with progress for this, on this idea.

  15. Add YTD figures for (recurring) reimbursements on an employee"s Payslip, such as non-reportable travel allowances (paid as reimbursements).

    I followed a Xero direction to process non-reportable travel allowances as reimbursements, as it ws creating discrepancies in our BAS (even though include in W1 was not checked).

    For an employee not to be able to see their total YTD renumeration on their payslip, including these reimbursements, is disappointing (particularly as it won't show on their EOFY payment summary).

  16. When resizing my browser window, many of the Xero screens (including Bills, Timesheets, Invoices) do not resize. Instead they chop off on the right hand side. There is not even the option of a slider to get over to the right.

    I have tested this across two browsers IE and Chrome. Frequently I am working on a laptop with a small screen and this is really annoying. I would rather they scale up or down when I make my browser larger or smaller.

  17. Hi there, I would like to be able to assign line items (that are the same) on a bill to multiple customers.

    i.e. 2 x oil filters, assign ONE of each to separate customers without having to enter them on separate lines on the bill to do so.

    Also, when creating an invoice and viewing "items to assign to a customer" I would like to be able to see the Supplier AND their invoice number in that list.

  18. Bank reconciliation screen: Why now, when reconciling, the page shifts down from the top! Shifting up from the bottom would make more sense and be less confusing. I reconcile from the latest and scroll down the page, but the page shift affects the ability to find my place for the next transaction down the list to reconcile. Often, I reconcile a wrong item as the screen header rolls down not up after I have reconciled a transaction. I find I always must readjust my vision. Very annoying.

  19. Please give us the option to make Tracking Groups a mandatory selection on the Employee tab before Xero users can save a new employee. This will stop users from setting up new employees & forgetting to assign the Employee Group tracking group which results in misreporting

    Hi team, while we appreciate your feedback and why you'd like to make this field mandatory not all businesses use tracking for payroll. We want to be upfront that we don't have any plans for making the employee groups field mandatory.
