  1. Add external certifications to Xero Payroll profiles:

    Hello again Karolin,
    My query was not about being certified with Xero, but that I have been certified for Safety Training and have it listed against my Xero Payroll Profile, this would keep all staff certifications in one place.

    (Providing the link for Xero Certification is off the mark from what my query was, however it would be quite a good idea to do Xero Certification and keep it in the same payroll profile once done, then I can have TWO by certifications in the one place....)

  2. Unpaid Intern. I have an Uni student doing an internship. We offered to pay $500 per month as a transport allowance. The unpaid intern is not an employee. When I wanted to set this person up in Payroll, I found limitations: the only available contracts are full time, part time and casual. I tried to set her up as casual, which is wrong, and link the transport allowance. An error pop up asking to calculate Superannuation. I give up.

  3. Xero Payroll restricts the payment date to no more than 90 days after the end of the payroll period. This isn't a legal or taxation limitation, but does restrict the occassions where clients are paying payroll in less regular intervals (such as paying their entire salary annually).

  4. A simple payroll report that shows the actual wages for a period for reporting for Workers Compensation as it is a legal requirement for AU businesses. Details would be split into wages paid including super, with the residency status (+country of origin for Working Holiday Makers) - with a split if an employee has changed employment basis (i.e., moved from Casual to FT) in the period.
    And any additional details that are required by the majority of insurance companies who handle Workers Comp.

  5. Xero has removed the ability for casual employees to apply for annual leave if that leave is available to them. Annual leave is part of my casual employees employment contracts. The employees and I have agreed that they will receive annual leave and sick leave.

    These leave types were catered for in the past and the employees were able to apply for them when required. Now, despite still accruing those leave types, they are unable to apply for them.

  7. After the recent Xero upgrade, the ability to view leave dates disappeared from the employees' History. Instead, a column titled "Next pay day" was added, which does not seem useful because the employees have left the company.

  8. It would be good to see the number of notes in the Notes Tab (perhaps in brackets, for example: 'Notes (2)'), so you can see at a glance, if there are any notes for the Employee and if yes, how many.

  10. Please add an employee folder to save data to - I am sick to death of having folders everywhere
    on my desktop for such information when It could be all saved to the individual employee in a folder in there file. Much better time & information management

  11. Hi,

    Our employees work standard hours each day, but in addition to this there are often additional items on their timesheets, such as overtime, trip and overnight stay bonuses.

    The use of timesheet templates simplifies this process by automating the inputting of their standard hours, though due to the remote nature of their work timesheets are being submitted through the mobile application which does not allow the uploading of templates.

    Can the ability to upload templates be added to the mobile app or a default template be added when creating a new timesheet?

  12. I think it would be fantastic if expenses were able to be linked to payroll/ pay run. Expenses are great and the app is really easy to use but from a processing point, most firms pay with their the payroll. You currently you have to create a expense suspense and clear the expenses to that and then manually add the expenses to payroll which also get posted to the expense suspense- it all a bit of a hassle and would be fantastic if the expenses could just be added to payroll, in the same way the leave does.

  14. Make creating leave requests functional when using keyboard entry.

    Currently, when I want to create a leave request, I:
    - go to the top menu, tab across to Payroll and select (4 keystrokes),
    - arrow down to Leave and select (4 keystrokes),
    - tab through to New Request and select (15 keystrokes),
    and then no matter how much I try I cannot get to select either Leave or Cash Out Leave without using the mouse.

    Then, once I have used the mouse to get the new leave request pop-up, I have to:
    - tab to the employee field (3 keystrokes)…

  15. A report to show the company's redundancy liability. This would show employees who have been in service for 2 years which are eligible for redundancy. It would need to state the employees name, payroll number, how many full years in service they have given, their average weekly pay over the last 12 weeks, their age. It would be great if the report could then show the actual liability amount where anyone under 41 years old would be paid 1 week per years in service and anyone over 41 would be paid 1.5 weeks per years in service.   16. Xero Payroll - NHS Pensions.
    We'd love to be able to use Xero to do Payroll, as we already use it to do our accounts. We are a group of 6 GP practices and a Primary Care Network, currently with 100 employees and we need a product that can run the NHS Pension Scheme - we wouldn't hesitate to use Xero if would work for us

  17. Whether or not you agree that emailing payslips should be considered by employers as a mandatory procedure once the payrun is logged, there are some basic improvements that should be adopted regardless of your opinion. If payslips have already been sent the the first improvement is to prompt the user that payslips have already been emailed if a user revisits the pay-run options window and clicks on email payslips. If the pay run has already been posted, the second improvement is to still provide access to an individual's payslip to record a message before emailing.

  18. NZ Pay Day Filing Reminder

    To avoid missing the pay day filing requirement of two days within pay day, where an email reminder notification would be handy to pick up when a pay run has not been posted to the IRD, or if it were to be showing as an error, as the IRD penalty for missing this timing is steep.

  19. Delete Primary Bank account for an employee

    We have employees who are now being paid via AP. When I try to delete the Primary Bank account that is there, Xero will not let me. Can you please add a feature to Xero that gives options such as "paid in cash" or "paid via AP" so that once that is ticked, the Primary Bank account details are greyed out or deleted? Thanks

  20. If an employer pays irregular wages, there is not option in the calendar or the employee card.
    It would be great to assign irregular pay runs to the employee card.
