  1. AUSTRALIA PAYROLL - Can we PLEASE have a separate Lock Date for Payroll. I have had many incidents where I have prepared an Activity Statement ( PAYG), and the client reverts a pay run to draft, makes a change AFTER THE ENDOF MONTH AND IAS CREATION, and then we have to re-calculate and re-submit IAS for signature.

    The lock date is unable to be added as the ACCOUNTS are still being reconciled, but the payroll is complete.

    This will also be extremely helpful at EOFY.

  2. It will be very useful for reporting if we are able to change the layout of Timesheet Details from a week ending to fortnightly while also able to choose the start date and end date without the dates with zero hours.

  3. One of the issues we have with Xero Payroll is there is no Anniversary Date for Sick leave. Our company changed hands in Apr 2020. As the new owners did not bring the Sick balances over, our sick leave anniversary became 6mths after change of ownership. That means we have to manually adjust the sick leave balances at 6mths after their Start anniversary rolls around (as service length is still recognised) for our 80 odd staff and then again on the first of October.
    We also have a annual Shutdown for Christmas, when staff have not been with the company…

  5. At this stage Xero doesn't recognise if an Employee is on Unpaid Leave.

    Xero's default behaviour when an employee (that is assigned to a holiday group) submits a request for a period of Unpaid Leave spanning one or more public holidays, is to exclude those Public Holidays from the calculated Unpaid Leave hours.

    This has the effect of allocating those Public Holidays as paid hours in a pay-run rather than as unpaid hours. This is not consistent with the Fair Work Act (https://www.fairwork.gov.au/employment-conditions/public-holidays/not-working-on-public-holidays)

    If this is not picked up and adjusted before finalising a pay-run it can result…

  7. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE add an option to Payroll that allows employer expenses to be processed. The Union our company is a member of insists we pay as an employer expense into a redundancy program and also an income protection program for each employee. The Union demands that the payments are detailed on each employees payslip. We can only do this if we have an employer expense option. One of my clients in the United Kingdom uses the UK version of XERO and their version allows for this. Come on Australia, catch up!!!

  9. Overtime needs to be recorded on Timesheets and be included in pay runs for employees on a fixed annual salary.

    We've been using Xero for 5+ years. It's brilliant in so many ways, and this basic functionality is missing, or rather, I expect is poorly coded.

    We have a number of employees on a fixed, 5 day per week, annual salary, which is divided by 12 to generate their pay every month. However, it's not uncommon for them to work overtime: additional hours here and there and sometimes whole extra days.

  10. On the XeroMe app for staff to log their timesheets, it will be beneficial to add a "Reason for overtime" textbox for every day, so that they can justfiy their overtime. Sometimes staff overclaim more than they should. Justifications are a good reminder for the employer to pay overtime rates correctly.

  11. I have a staff member working a 9 day fortnight not on an RDO arrangement. It would be great to have a 'week 1' pay template and a 'week 2' pay template. We pay our staff weekly not fortnightly.

  12. We get funding to pay for staffing overtime. Would be great if we could create a specific overtime to come out of this funding pot. Then we'd be able to see how the funding has been spent and provide evidence that we've used the money for extra staffing.

  13. Currently if termination date falls in the middle of a pay cycle, the final pay run will not calculate the staff pay pro rata and therefore payroll admin has to manually update the payslip. Please include this feature so Xero constructs the payslip taking into consideration the termination date whilst still using the employee card details (rates, deductions etc etc).

  14. Please automatically revert to the "Pay Employees" page after a payrun has been filed. At the moment after a payrun is filed with the ATO we are taken back to the "Post Payrun" / "File" page. You then have to click on "Close" to be taken to the "Pay Employees" page. Why the extra step?

  15. Bulk issuing a once-off bonus payment to employees. Instead of updating each pay template individually with the additional pay item, the ability to add this during a pay run would save a lot of time. Being able to select who to add it to or edit them once it has been added to all the pay templates would also help this process.

    Xero sends email alerts when a bank account numbers is changed. Can it also send an email alert when an employee's leave conversion balances have been changed? This will alert fraudulent leave balance adjustments by unscrupulous staff / management.

  17. Employees have requested their net pay to be paid across more than four bank accounts, though this function is not available. Increasing the number of bank accounts would assist employees and those processing payroll.

  18. Need the option to customise the tax years for the entities who don't have March 20XX balance date e.g. December balance date in financial settings.

  19. There is no functionality to retroactively add or edit break times into an employees submitted timesheet. It would be good to be able to edit or add a break time on the timesheet if they forget before approving it.

  20. When I pull the Bank Batch file to pay Wages, I would like the amount for PAYE and any other Taxes or transferred deductions to be paid out on the day with the Payroll. This removed it from the business immediatley and makes sure payment is always up to date.
