Quotes - Title and Summary to flow through to Sales Invoices
Ability to make quote’s title and summary flow through to Sales Invoices.
Purpose: To save users’ time rather than having them manually input the same title and summary when the quotes are converted into invoices.

How is this not a thing already? Unbelievable.

We use the quotes system everyday and all the notes would be great if they were transferred to the invoice

This is very important to the way we issue Quotes and Invoices. All the Version control is detailed in our summary and is all lost once the invoice has been created. I have to cut and paste from the Summary to the bottom of the invoice each time. I would love to see this function available with an option to transfer the Summary if possible.
Thanks

100% need this rectifying ASAP
My clients keep complaining that they don’t know what my invoices relate toI need the quote information on my invoice or I’m gonna have to start looking for a different software..

Why offer it on the quote side and don't let it transfer to the invoice. We really need to be able to see it in both places

My client likes having the title and summary on their quotes. I have suggested to them to ignore it and add the summary information into a line item on the quote so that when they convert it to an invoice the information transfers. It would be much more professional looking and more user friendly to have the title and summary transfer over to the invoice with everything else.

Needs sorting!

Currently no point using Title and Summary - better to place as a line item in the descriptor at the Start on an invoice. - this would also solve another issue when you have - deliver address that do not match the company that is getting bill as this infomation could be placed in summary.

Automatically including the Title and Summary on quotes on invoices is essential! Please Xero it can’t be that hard for you to fix this.

Strongly recommend Title and Summary from quotation will be automatically shifted to invoice when we 'create invoice' from the quotation.

A very basic function, my clients need this as much as I do.

A summary of the job quoted doesn’t then move over to an invoice. I’ve accidentally sent invoices to customers without a description of work carried out as I’ve converted quote to invoice and not noticed the description does move with it. I have to manually input description again which is a pain. Needs to be resolved!!!

This is a basic function on all other accounting programmes, please can we have this added as a priority?

Can't believe there has still been no update to this. Seems to be pretty popular topic and feature for so many people but yet, no changes.
Oh but wait, what's that email I got the other day from Xero? Oh yes another fee increase!! Don't miss out on those updates that's for sure. While I now use another 3rd party job flow software for my invoice needs that syncs back to Xero it is rather annoying to see other customers still being hindered by this problem. -

This would save us so much time. - 9 years of waiting for simple and obvious fixes - Hmmmm. Also if projects could link to clients that would be amazing. Can't believe that wasn't part of the rollout in the first place. What a time savers these little things could be to those of us who are time poor to start with.

One of my favorite ways to use the quote title and summary field is that I add them to the quote during creation and have my default quote email template set to:
Email Subject: Quote #[Quote Number] - [Title]
Email Body:
[Summary]The attached Quote #[Quote Number] is also available at: [Online Quote Link]
(My name)
(My contact details)That way my quote emails are fully populated from the get-go with the quote title and summary!
I'd love to treat invoices this way too if Xero will just implement title and summary there!

I saw that Xero added a new invoicing roadmap (https://central.xero.com/s/article/Xero-new-invoicing-releases) and am disappointed to see that invoice subject and title support isn't listed as a planned feature. Xero has already done the work for Quotes, so please add it to Invoices as well! I tried "Classic Invoicing" today and it doesn't seem to be supported there either, so I don't know why this requests suggests that we can just "manually input the same title and summary" to invoices. There's no field to paste them into!

We use Xero's title and summary in every single quote to give important details specific to that order but not to any single line item. But Xero doesn't provide anywhere to put important order-specific or summary information like this on invoices. And the alternatives are ugly kluges:
* Adding these details to a description only item-line confuses customers and looks unprofessional since it's not a line item.
* Adding this to the email subject/text means it is lost when customers just pass around the PDF or view the invoice web link. And it's not saved with the invoice, so it's also lost when we try to resend the invoice or view it later.Note that there is also an extremely popular Xero feature request for flowing Quote title and summary through to sales invoices. That's important too, but it's a second step. Invoice titles and summaries need to be supported in the first place before they can flow through. So I hope Xero will keep (and then implement!) both of these separate requests.

I usually have to go through the process of manually copy and paste. Unfortunately, today I forgot to do it and was reprimanded by our customer, saying if I didn't include this, they would be taking their business elsewhere!
Come on Xero! you have been asked since 2015 to do this, yet you have produced a new invoice layout without including this.
