New Invoicing - Show stock level when adding a Tracked inventory item
When typing a quote, available stock used to show (when you typed a figure in the "quantity" field (if available stock was less than required the open window would turn red) but it doesn't now. It would be great if this feature were also added to invoices (and quotations as before) so that one didn't need to check stock on a different page for each item being invoiced. I note that it shows when typing a credit note, so it must be possible!
Hi team, thanks for your contribution and sharing with us on your use of being able to see levels of stock when invoicing. Right now, our team are developing improvements to the line item grid in new invoicing, where you enter detail of your invoices. This work also involves providing visibility of your tracked inventory stock on hand so you know how many items you have to sell.
For now we'll move to working on it and I'll keep you updated of when this is released in new invoicing.

I agree with the comments below. We shouldn't be forced to use new invoicing when it doesn't suit our needs.

Hi Kelly,
Great to see you are listening to your users.
Please don't force us into the new invoicing until this current functionality is live.
Ideally you should release this in the beta version you are running now, so those of us who use tracked inventory can experience the new version to check there isn't anything else you guys have missed before you roll out the new version.
Many thanks,

Customer does not want to go to New Invoicing because it's time consuming having to check if stock is available and then process the order. Classic Invoicing already does this so why can't New Invoicing do the same.

In the Item Dropdown List show not only the Sale Price, but also the current Quantity On Hand for Tracked Items.

I agree with the comments, this feature is important, please do not remove old invoicing on till this feature is available on new invoicing. It doesn't make sense to reduce functionality while increasing fees.

It makes no sense to take away this crucial feature, as many others have also stated in the comments. We can't see if there is enough stock prior to hitting approve now and will have to check each stock item line by line in a separate tab when performing sales invoicing. This is a critical component of using tracked inventory and is a backwards step that leaves your users in a pickle (as invoicing will take 3 times as long now). This is in no way an "improvement" and your logic makes no sense. Also it seems that any "new" features you have "added" were already available before, but you have just moved them to a different part of the screen.

Just backing up previous comments. This feature is not 'useful' it is critical to many of us.
Please extend the change over date if this cannot be included before you retire the classic version. -

Also adding weight - we need this.

Totally agree with all the comments posted to date!! The ability to view available stock is critical which is lacking in the new invoicing. We will not switch until this feature is restored.

Hi - removing this feature is a big step backwards. It means that every time we are setting up an invoice I have to open another window to check inventory levels. I think this should be prioritised, as any improvements you are trying to make to improve the efficiency are immediately undone if I need to open another stock system or another xero window.

New invoicing no longer shows how many products are available to invoice for. Bring back the availability of a product at first glance when invoicing please

We are an ecommerce business.
Currently the unavailability of inventory tracking has made everything a bit complicated, whereas before in the old invoicing it was more simplified.
PLEASE DO NOT MAKE THE OLD INVOICING UNAVAILABEL UNTIL ALL OF THESE ISSUES ARE RESOLVED
-
James Cain commented
Why would you make the old invoicing unavailable until other problems and issues are resolved ? This is critical for our business
Just one more reason to move away from Xero!

"Hi community, we appreciate how useful the ability to view stocks on hand are to our customers that are using tracked inventory. This is something we're looking to build in to new invoicing, however there are a few other things lined up in the teams agenda first. "
I really don't think you do appreciate that it is critical, not simply useful.
With new invoicing I can invoice several hundred of a product, and am not told, until I try to approve the invoice, that I have none in stock, and then only on a little pop-up box.
However a few other, fairly useless, things are being put ahead of what hundreds of users are asking for. Really doesn't make sense at all.Take a look at the Xero Users support pages on Facebook, many people are looking at alternatives to Xero and it's no wonder.
Please sort this before you retire the classic version.

Totally agree! Without this feature its going to take twice as long. I don't think that starting every order as a quote is an option as it takes so long to approve a quote.

New Invoicing - it doesn't show inventory on hand, when you add in inventory to invoice.
For example, if I have 50 units in inventory, and when I enter the invetory code in an invoice, and then when I try to enter inventory, it shows, "50 units avaialble".
This very helpful feature is missing in new invoicing. it will be very helpful if this can be added. Please refer to the screenshot attached. -

Without this feature Xero won’t work for any type of distribution business. The process becomes duplicated and very labour some having to constantly switch screens

Our company uses different batch numbers plus roll numbers to differentiate products. It would be great to see available stock on hand when invoicing in the "new" version.
It was showing up correctly on the classic version up until today where quantities available were not updating.
