New Invoicing - Show stock level when adding a Tracked inventory item
When typing a quote, available stock used to show (when you typed a figure in the "quantity" field (if available stock was less than required the open window would turn red) but it doesn't now. It would be great if this feature were also added to invoices (and quotations as before) so that one didn't need to check stock on a different page for each item being invoiced. I note that it shows when typing a credit note, so it must be possible!
Hi team, thanks for your contribution and sharing with us on your use of being able to see levels of stock when invoicing. Right now, our team are developing improvements to the line item grid in new invoicing, where you enter detail of your invoices. This work also involves providing visibility of your tracked inventory stock on hand so you know how many items you have to sell.
For now we'll move to working on it and I'll keep you updated of when this is released in new invoicing.

I agree - Having the option to see available stock when preparing an invoice is critical. It makes invoicing and reordering processes more efficient, saves time, helps monitor stock levels.
This impacts all our clients with tracked inventory.
Please prioritise this.

The new invoicing is not as functional as the old invoice.
Available inventory does not show when you enter the amount to invoice, this is vital to our business, so we are aware of out of stocks when entering the invoice, we can then advise the customer immediately what is unavailable
When finalising the invoice (No items available to sell message pops up at the bottom of the screen for a short time). If you do not have eyes on screen the message is missed. It is also not clear on screen as to which item is missed where as currently the item is identified as noted in the attachment.
You cannot type in a future date and tab to the next field, drop down box is not as functional or as fast
In the classic version you can highlight the entire invoice and copy to a spreadsheet (it puts everything into sperate cells the same as the invoice).
New invoicing can only highlight one cell at a time.
We copy the invoice to a spreadsheet often and for many different purposes so this is vital to our businessPLEASE DO NOT MAKE THE OLD INVOICING UNAVAILABEL UNTIL ALL OF THESE ISSUES ARE RESOLVED

Can you please give me Sukhinder Singh Cassidy's contact details to escalate this issue to please as you don't seem to understand how crititcal this functionality is to those of use who use it and to say your team have other priorities makes me extremely nervous, as it simply needs to be retained for NZ'ers to use as a basic tool within Xero.
Many thanks

Please Xero ....dont lose this feature, we are keeping with the "original invoices" as the new one doesn't advise if we have the stock to sell :(

Kelly, you don't seem to understand that the ability to track your tracked inventory is a critical function to many business's. It simply needs to be included and never removed with any new release.
How do we contact Sukhinder Singh Cassidy to raise our concerns please?
I'll look forward to hearing back from you.
Many thanks

This is an essential function required for our weekly running stock take. I personally only have minimal access to xero but this was one function of great benefit. If this is not reinstated, I will be placing a lot of unnecessary admin work on our finance administrator to provide stock levels for cross checking several times a week. Its increasing the burden.

Having the stock on hand showing when doing invoicing is so much more productive in the short term than having to open stock items on other screens. It would also be helpful when looking at stock quantities, what the quantity in draft invoices are (it shows for quotes when you have those) but not for draft invoices. Our business is of such sort that we have draft invoices until work is fully complete - it would be good to have that as an overview of what is on hold in draft invoices as well. It will then translate through to showing it when doing invoices.

The ability to see stock on hand when entering/editing invoices that are uploaded via an FTP dump file integration in our business is ESSENTIAL.
Without this it adds quite a bit of non productive time in checking to see what stock is available before approving and finalising Sales Invoices
Please ensure this feature is re instated, as the community has made a point about this so trust it will be actioned sooner than later.

Classic invoicing was built on older technology that we simply can't continue to use, if we want to improve and upgrade the invoicing experience. New invoicing, on the other hand, allows us to be more flexible and scalable so our teams have been building all features directly into the product.
Though we can't give a definite date at this time, viewing stock on hand will be developed in the new invoicing experience. I will share further updates when there's more news. So, are you confirming that the ability to see the correct stock on hand while putting together a quote or invoice will be available in the New Invoicing when it's released or not? As it's not currently in your beta version.
Please just be honest - yes it will be there when you remove Classic or no it won't be. -

the old invoicing system used to show the 'tracked inventory quantity available' when you were inputting the quantity data
can this be re-installed; I found it to be very useful

A feature of Classic Invoicing to see the quantity on hand for an inventory item when entering it into the invoice has been removed from New Invoicing. Fix this please .

Why Xero would take away an existing and essential feature when quoting and invoicing (showing the quanity on hand) an suggest to users this an upgrade?
Clearly a downgrade - keep the old invoice version going!
Very difficult to quote and invoice without knowing the QoH. -

As the implementation of the new invoicing system nears I have come on here once more to speak on how critical it is for our business to show the stock level whilst invoicing. Please consider having an option to add it in or keep having the classic invoicing system as an option for those of us who rely on it.
Thank you!

This feature is crucial to businesses invoicing out items in inventory that are tracked - the classic invoice system would allow you to see how many units were in stock when creating invoice - now it does not show you availability and only tells you that there are no items left to sell once you click approve invoice.
Also, in the new invoicing, when you view an invoice that's already approved, it does not show you the item/product code - only the line description - it is helpful to have this if you need to know what part you used for a customer in the past (an example is a part for a specific vehicle) - you can only see this when going into preview which is time consuming. -

This feature is elementary to tracking inventory. All the other accounting software packages allow for this. It is extremely inconvenient to look up every item in a different screen to check stock levels. Please we need this feature to be available ASAP. Thank you.

As mentioned, for the multitude of business that track their stock, it is critical that we can see stock on hand when entering an invoice please. You can see this when entering a quote, so surely this can easily be added back into the invoice system. Please action asap!
