New Invoicing - Show stock level when adding a Tracked inventory item
When typing a quote, available stock used to show (when you typed a figure in the "quantity" field (if available stock was less than required the open window would turn red) but it doesn't now. It would be great if this feature were also added to invoices (and quotations as before) so that one didn't need to check stock on a different page for each item being invoiced. I note that it shows when typing a credit note, so it must be possible!
Hi team, thanks for your contribution and sharing with us on your use of being able to see levels of stock when invoicing. Right now, our team are developing improvements to the line item grid in new invoicing, where you enter detail of your invoices. This work also involves providing visibility of your tracked inventory stock on hand so you know how many items you have to sell.
For now we'll move to working on it and I'll keep you updated of when this is released in new invoicing.

Please add being able to see stock on hand in the quantity column of the new invoicing like classic invoicing! Or please leave Classic invoicing how it is as we would much rather use that than the new one at the moment.

Yes an update would be very much appreciated. It's over 3 weeks since new invoicing was officially released and we still can't see stock availability. Like others, I am not using the new invoicing at all, as it doesn't work for our business and creates too much extra work. We now have just 8 weeks until classic invoicing is retired, so it's a little bit concerning that there are no updates to reassure users that this will be sorted in time for 19 Nov (if not sooner, so we can all start using new invoicing and get used to it as soon as possible).

Hi - please can you provide an update on this. I am trying to get used to using new invoicing, but lack of stock visibility is a big drawback and results in me switching back to classic. I will have to keep using classic until forced to switch due to this omission. Thank you for your help

Is it possible for the item code to have the number available when choosing from more than one inventory item? With the new invoicing I have no idea if I'm told the incorrect item until I am approving the invoice and it gets rejected. When you have a customer standing waiting for his invoice is is frustrating. This happened to me 3 times for one invoice the other day.

the "available inventory", when entering a invoice line, on the CLASSIC invoicing is a very efficient way to see what is on-hand and can be sold.
Not seeing this information, until you try to "approve" the invoice is a step backwards. along with it, brings inefficiencies to our business. -

The switch to the new invoicing has shown what I believe to be a major flaw and error which for businesses that sell products instead of services is a huge loss! In the old invoicing when creating a customer sales invoice and entering a tracked product and the quantity needed to sell the current stock levels showed up in the quantity field, this way you could always see what you had available to sell. This has now been lost so there is no way to see if you have sufficient stock levels until the point of trying to approve the invoice. This then means you need a separate Xero tab open and manually need to look up and check each product and it's stock levels. This loss means as a product selling business I will have major issues preparing customer orders, specially whilst taking orders on the phone. This must be improved and shown as per the classic invoicing or I'll need a new invoicing system. Please help.

This was a really thoughtless move.
Forcing us to switch to a new, incomplete template is highly disruptive. Displaying stock is critical for our business.
Also i personally dont like new template .

I am at a loss as to why you would force these new changes on us today when this crucial feature has not been fixed. Seriously Xero - you are going to have customers looking into new accounting software packages with the ridiculous changes being made. Why are you not listening to your customers???

In the classic invoicing when tab on the qty line, it showed the qty on hand for that specific item.
Is it possible to bring that in to the new invoicing?In our business we use that a lot as we have the same product but with different codes and qty on hand and need to see the qty when doing the invoice (it will be very difficult to do invoicing for us without that popup in the qty line)
We would LOVE if you will be able to add that.

We received a message from Xero stating that the new invoice features "Easier inventory management, including the ability to... view stock on hand in the Quantity cell for tracked inventory." However, this feature does not seem to yet be available when I switch to the new invoicing. Can you confirm this feature is in fact being rolled out in production?

It is mind boggling to me that you are a few months away from forcing this new invoicing on all of us and you are still "working on" all these basic features we used to have. The new invoicing should have at a minimum had all the features from current invoicing before making any "improvements". Much less it being mandatory.

hi there, the new version of Xero is making the life harder.
When creating invoice and Click on the QTY, it would show the quantity we have in stock in the classic.
Now it does not work any more. So how would the new version better than the classic , and i can tell so many user been complaining the layout of the new version cheers -

It is in new quotes and credit notes. Why on earth isn't in the new invoicing?
If this does not make it in back in soon I will be leaving Xero.
