We were desperate enough to be able to kit up our inventory that we had to start using another app to track inventory about 18 months ago. It does work but it is very sluggish & not intuitive at all. We are desperately waiting for Xero to improve this side of inventory management for us to use. Any update??

Interested to hear updates on this suggestion. We are currently looking at Xero alternatives as managing bundled products is becoming such a big time-sink for us.

Very keen to get an update on this functionality. We have a single product SKU - which is made up of three or four sub componets. When we sell the single product we need to allocate funds to the appropriate components which in terms are from 3rd party suppliers. Customer only gets to see a single product SKU.

I was part of the focus group surveyed on those late last year and they said it should be out early this year.
Id it still coming or have Xero canned it?

I would love this feature as the client buys sets of individual items that i can only add to stock as items,

we sell kits of different sizes depending on what the customer needs. we would like the ability to invoice one item that contains 10 different inventory items in a build that is always the same to sell.

We have a hygiene pack made up of 3 different items which we order separately for.
Sometimes we sell the items individually and sometimes we sell the items together as a pack.
Nothing complicated, but gets messy to keep track of through the normal xero interface.

Similar to the Quickbooks feature, where we can add a single line item to a quote or invoice that is comprised of multiple products & services. The goal would be to reduce clutter for clients, but we can have granular cost/profit tracking per service.

For context, we are a video production company--instead of having each crew member's role on the quote/invoice, we would prefer to have one line item for crew, one for location expenses, one for pre-production, etc., but still be able to track how much we spend/earn on each specific role.

I need the same functionality. My company provides medical services and invoices them as a package, which includes the use of our equipment, individual consumables (e.g., needles, probes, etc.), and the clinician’s time. Although we purchase consumables in boxes, each item is used individually.
In our field, it is essential to track each consumable used on a patient, including its product code and LOT number. These consumables are not billed separately, as they form part of the bundled service, but they still need to be tracked for compliance and clinical traceability.
It would be extremely helpful if Xero allowed us to track individual consumables, even when they are not billed directly, within its inventory system, with the ability to record code and LOT numbers.

Product/Inventory - Template Parent Item Line.
Would hugely time saving to be able to add multiple item lines with one click.
Clicking on a parent item which has selected item lines attached.
These multiple item lines are the items that would be used on every invoice, creating an item line template so to say.

VERY CRITICAL AND IMPORTANT

Create Kits or Group - I often provide a service made up of numeros materials / labour items. I do not want to show the client the detail. Just a Title / Unit Value & Rate. So for example. Installing a new plug socket. I just want to show - "New socket" but the value that is shown comes from Labour / Materials / Mileage / Miscallanious items. All these will sit in a Kit Group. The Kit name will be New Socket, but the cost and retail price of the kit will come from the build up of Labour / Materials / Mileage / Miscallanious items.

How can we add more attributes for products? Like a category of products or color or size?

We are a retail food outlet and the simple task of tracking stock items that are sold as a bundle is missing from Xero. We sell PACKS eg. Tropical pack, seniors pack, kids pack at a discount to the individual items. If we sell a pack, we cannot track the stock reduction of the items in that pack. Even if we put the items in separately at the register to track the stock levels, this charges the customer the normal price, and is very time consuming for the staff. PLEASE provide an update on the development of this feature as we will be going to another provider if it's not fixed soon. 5 years of requests is ridiculous for a standard feature, that was also part of the business Xero purchased 3 years ago (LOCATE).

This would be very useful whether tracked or untracked. We provide services and it makes a very longwinded invoice when you have to list all those services out individually when you could just say you have this package that includes these services and still get the detailed reporting for your costings and usage.

Yeah I'm also looking other accounting software to move away from Xero. They told me they "technically" only support invoices for 10 line items. We produce bundles and had to do it a very long winded way to make it easier for the customer to understand but with excess effort for the dev team using Xero.
The new invoice layout is not fit for purpose either.

Any recommendations of other software that supports MTD and bundles is greatly appreciated.
