Invoicing - Remove 'Powered by Xero' in Footer of emails
Remove 'Powered by Xero' Advertisement on the footer invoice emails (only recently added)
Hi everyone, appreciate this topic has picked up momentum in the last couple of months since “Powered by Xero” was first introduced to our invoice emails.
Our product team have been working through the next iteration of the invoice email. They’ve reviewed feedback about this email from multiple sources and are planning some changes to address some of the concerns, in particular that the purpose of this feature is for marketing and advertising purposes. This feature was developed, designed and implemented will the sole intention of increasing trust with the invoice emails we generate inside the Xero platform. The data after delivering this has shown that it does just that, increasing engagement with your invoice emails and ultimately getting you, our customers, paid faster.
Therefore the “Powered by Xero” footer will remain in place, however we will be reducing its size, better integrating it into a redesigned email experience and removing the hyperlink to Xero.com.
This new email experience is focussed on uplifting our invoice experience to meet expectations from you and your customers to provide a professional, informative and modern experience. This new experience will be coming to New Invoicing first and then to our other invoicing tools like Reminders in the coming weeks.

update people...had a call from Xero this morning saying due to feedback you can now 'Opt out' of this feature.
So...if you don't get a call, bang loudly, set up a Case and request to Opt Out...
For Xero peeps and those still reading, I'm still staggered Xero are going to force on those not proactive enough or too busy to follow up...

Seriously Xero what's with powered by xero on all emails now . Like you need extra advertising, it's the small business that are paying you for a service and your using us to advertise your product. Like you can't work out that someone is using xero. Please let us remove this from out emails as a preference.

Haha! The arrogance!!! It does not add legitimacy any more that it would if a scammer would use a bank logo with a link to a rogue website. I have already added a disclaimer to all the email templates and will avoid with a passion sending emails from Xero! Also waiting for recommendations of alternatives to Xero, please.
We're always looking for ways to improve, so we appreciate the time you have taken to provide this feedback. We've recorded your feedback for our Product team to review.
Currently, it is not possible to remove the 'Powered By Xero' footer from your invoice emails.
The recent 'Powered By Xero' footer to our emails aims to improve the payer experience by giving confidence to your potential payers that your emailed invoices are legitimate. This is a step our Product team has decided to take to promote cyber security for your payers and our customers.
Kind regards
Maia

For this reason alone, Xero has to be the most unprofessional outfit I have dealt with! Not only do they sneak in advertising into paid-for content (without advance notice or method of opting out) but they make it look crass and sloppy. With the "powered by Xero" on the bottom of the emails but not even centred, and disproportionate compared to the rest of the content and layout, they make themselves look totally ridiculous. Would you want to consider signing up for a service that got advertised to you on an invoice (and let's face it, who likes receiving invoices???)? Would you even consider following the link to a service that will only use you to spread itself like a virus to your clients, just like it has just done with you? I don't think sooooooo..... Who on earth runs their marketing and development departments? Perhaps they need to spend some of these price increases they have been throwing at us time after time, on some quality development to fix their slow and clumsy system, rather than use us as virus-carriers.

Totally agree with everyone's comments on here! I have only just found this link after I emailed support to complain! I am not in a milliton years endorsing Xero (having complained many times about major features missing in a multi-currency system, for example and not been listened to), so will be adding my own disclaimer soon enough if they don't remove their blatant advertising. Please, could everyone comment with a quick enough tool to migrate to, which supports multi-currency accounts (and actually does it, unlike Xero)? Quick books? I am ready to take the plunge unless they go back on their outrageous move!

I think it is discourteous to attach the logo to our emails without first asking, especially when you cannot allow us to add our own company logo as an auto signature. Please remove this blatant advertising which suggests we endorse Xero. There are many issues with the software that are never addressed and the recent price increase only rubs salt in the wounds further.

I'm disappointed at how unprofessional it is for Xero to use our emails to advertise themselves.

Echoing the comments here - we're paying for a service, not to advertise on your behalf.
It's especially galling given the poor level of service / capacity issues on bills and expenses that are still only 'on the radar'.

I'm now downloading the PDF and sending it as an attachment via the normal email. Everything is taking longer to do, which is par for the course these days with these wonderful updates they keep forcing on us.

Just discovered the huge Xero logo in my invoicing emails to clients. Really unprofessional on a paid service. Cheapens our brand image and needs to be removed asap.

Did not opt in for this feature nor was there any information to supplied to my knowledge.
PLEASE REMOVE this feature or make it optional if you really have to **** the whole community off.

I accidentally ticked "send me a copy of statements" this month and discovered (by accident) this gigantic "powered by Xero" footer - which happens to be larger than our logo in our case. Like everyone else on this thread, this is unacceptable for a paid subscription service. I would never have expected something like this to be snuck in without warning or a way to switch it off?
Poor form Xero.

@xero, Can you confirm the footer advertising image which appears to be hosted by google servers does not contain tracking information? And will not be used to to track user data, particularly of our clients?

Hi,
I am not paying higher xero subscriptions to advertise Xero to my customers, my emails need to remain professional without branding from Xero, this is not acceptable, Xero have the higest subscription costs compared to other accounting subscription models, which I am happy to pay as the service has always been good over the many years I have been with Xero.
Our companies emailed invoices, quotes etc start to look amateurish with this "Powered by Xero" on our companies emails.

Up until now I have genuinely been too busy to look for alternatives to Xero and look into what would be involved with making the switch. But this 'powered by' nonsense is bonkers
What are they thinking?

No No NO!... Xero you are not listening. You are starting to act like the big end corporate companies who only listen to the mirror and not the outside world where the customers operate...
We do not pay a subscription service to advertise the Xero business just like Xero would not allow Amazon, Facebook or other Xero service providers that drive functionality within Xero to put their logos all over the Xero user website.
Make it optional and let us, the paying users, decide if the so called benefits of having the 'Xero legitimacy' translate into improved payments.
If the majority of people decide to "switch on" the Xero logo and link to Xero website in emails, then Xero is correct. If most people leave off, then there must be some other reason for forcing it onto us.
Of all ironies, as I type, I cannot use Xero as global access to invoicing is down...says it all really...

Poor form Xero. we will be invoicing from another program to avoid this moving forward. Perhaps work on improving functionalities that have been slow off the mark instead of focusing on sales and marketing of your brand. Performance is starting to slip Xero.

"Why has Xero added their advertising at the bottom of outbound emails? We are paying a subscription fee and do not want to be a walking billboard promoting software to our clients. Please Xero allow us to remove this unwanted branding."
Agree 100%. Even includes a link to their site - Feels like we are using a free product with included advertising, instead of a paid subscription one.

Answer from the Xero Support team - 50% joke 50% solution:
"Thanks for taking the time to provide feedback on this. I've checked this with the product team and they've let us know that this an experiment that rolled out to a percentage of Xero organisations. The core intention behind adding our logo to the emails sent from Xero is to improve the email interactions with users and to bring us in line with other industry standards. We can assure you that the logo was intended to increase the legitimacy of the emails sent from Xero which is a good practice followed by the industry. The team wanted to share with you that so far this has shown a 1% increase in email interactions as a result of this change which is a positive improvement and indicator that emails sent from Xero are well received and trusted by recipients. However, we understand your concerns and we're happy to remove your organisation from the experiment as requested."

Such a a huge distraction, i've already had people assuming it is a CTA button!
Worse still, another link and image to an external source lloks like spam. Its bad enough you wont allow emails to be sent though our own domain, now we have to 'Advertise" your business. And please don't charge a fee 'remove' it.
