Bills - Add 'paid by credit card' flag to payment overview
With the bills workflow, we often have the issue that when a purchase is made by credit card or direct debit and the receipt is then sent to hubdoc or Xeros solution it sits in awaiting payment - when really it is awaiting reconciliation. or needs something to identify it as a recurring payment or paid by credit card. When marked as paid in Hubdoc that doesn't synch with Xero and there is no way for book keeper to know how it has been paid and thus we have bills being paid twice and you have to know which are…

Quotes: Hide line item cost
When we create quotes we do not want the individual cost to be sent to the client as we may increase or decrease price depending on actual needs. Therefore I would like to send a quote with all the products/services itemized but not individual cost just a TOTAL?

Inventory - Allow Negative Stock On Hand
Ability to allow negative stock in Xero.
Purpose: Users that take orders and receive payments from their contacts before placing inventory can easily do it in Xero.

While they have a few other priorities to get through first we'll move this idea to Under review and return to share more when this work picks up.

Quotes - Make tax rate and account code mandatory
It would be great to make the tax rate (and account code) mandatory when creating quotes. This is a fail safe way of ensuring the gst is correct on quotes.
10 votesAppreciate different businesses operate differently when setting up and approving deals. Some businesses specifically leave off detail from quotes for their own circumstance too.
Imagine this'd need to be an optional org setting, and not something we have plans for right now but we'll get a sense of the interest here.

Inventory - Add an alert when Product reaches a 'low' quantity
Low stock alerts can be set up in the Xero "Product" administration. Each product reaches a certain 'low' quantity and Xero gives an alert accordingly.

Email to Bills - Ability to email CSV files as well as PDF
Presently, to create a draft bill in Xero from a bill that has been received in the csv format, the csv bill has to be imported manually. It would be easier to be able to email the csv bill to the unique bills email address and have a draft bill created in Xero.
3 votesHi team, while not a direct solve for CSV file types as asked for here, I wanted to quickly share on the recent uploads feature we've released in bills.
You can now simply select your files or drag & drop them, and Xero will automatically create draft bills with key details pre-filled and the original document attached ready for approval. 🙂
We don't have any direct plans on expanding our supported file types at this time, but we'll continue to track the interest ans share if there are any changes planned for this. Thanks

Expenses: Date range for explorer report
The "Explorer" tab in the employee expenses section needs an option to set the date range.
At the moment it is pretty useless as I cant even see what date range it covers - presumably back to when we started using expenses mid way through the year 3 years ago?
It is not meaningful to compare spend by different employees, if I cant do it by month or quarter, when some employees have been using expenses for much longer than others.
An option to compare by employee for selected accounts, and to export to pdf/xls would also be really useful.3 votes -

Statements - For contacts who are a supplier as well as a customer
Statement by Contact - as same contact a bill payment and a customer.
Statement needed for 'Contact"
We really need to have statements for Contacts with a running balance. We use the same Contacts for bill payments and also for invoicing, and want to be able to send them a statement.
We use Xero for several entities and all 3 have this issue.
Please put this as a priority as it does not look professional sending the contact an account transaction listing - instead of an activity statement by Contact.4 votes -

Ability to maintain the project costing master data in XERO instead of having to export out the report and maintaining it outside of XERO.

Hubdoc - Add/edit line items in the mobile app
I want to be able to add and edit line items in the Hubdoc mobile app so that I can process more complex invoices/bills on my mobile device. Currently I need to use the web app for this and the UX of the whole interface there is very poor – basically just the desktop interface but rendered much smaller – so the experience is quite painful.

Xero Projects: Profitability dashboard to show amounts inclusive of GST
The profitability dashboard in Xero projects should have the option to show amounts inclusive or exclusive of GST for bills and invoices.

Contact | Note that Purchase Order Required
The ability to flag a customer as "purchase order required". We have a growing number of customers who won't pay us unless we put a purchase order reference on the invoice. It would be good if we can have a flag in the customer that says they require a PO and therefore when we raise an invoice to them it pops up a reminder message.
12 votesAppreciate the feedback here, everyone. As noted in my last update - we released a notes feature in the contact record that enables you to add editable notes (up to 4000 characters) that are visible when viewing the contacts record.
At this stage, we don't have any plans around pop up notes similar to what's being asked on this idea, however understand this is really what's needed to help solve for your idea here.
For now, we'll shift the idea back to submitted and continue to track the interest. If there are any other developments that could help achieve what you're asking we'll share this with you all, here.

Projects - Bulk update project expenses to 'mark as invoiced'
In project records the ability to select multiple or all expenses entries (by using the existing select tick box) and bulk update 'mark as invoiced' status.

Customised Document Reference Number as well as automation of this feature.
Document reference number could be modified & next number is shown is recommended.
Eg.
- Invoice number could be customised into "INV yymm-***", same goes to payment, receipt, credit note so on.

Advanced Inventory - Assembly Inventory
Ability to have/add assembly inventory in Xero.
Purpose: Users who are selling parts of the whole inventory can easily manage this in Xero.

Inventory - Create a purchase order from the Item List
It would be an idea to be able to add to a purchase order by simply ticking the item from the stock list while you are checking stock levels. This would save time typing in every item after you have checked it.

New Invoicing - Keep leading carriage returns and spaces in description field
The 'new invoicing' option automatically removes any leading carriage returns and leading spaces in the invoice description field.
This did not occur in the classic version and wonder why it was introduced.
To enable the details of the invoice to be easily read, it is sometimes necessary to separate line items on the invoice and to indent the actual description.

Sales Invoices - Allow to have column for backorders
To have a column of back orders/negative items within the Sales Invoices.
Purpose: Users can easily enter back ordered items rather than doing extra steps of adding 1 more item in their inventory.
