  2. The Dashboard panel "Invoices owed to you" shows the number and total of
    * Draft Invoices
    * Awaiting Payment
    * Overdue

    Having a fourth line showing Unsent invoices would quickly notify users of those approved invoices which haven't yet been sent, whether intentionally or in error.

  3. Include the payment dates and payments made when sending invoices to clients.
    Currently once the invoice is downloaded or sent to client, it shows the total amount paid, but not broken down by date as per the screen shot i have attached. Currently it only shows «InvoiceTotalNetPayments»

  4. I would like to track labour costs in project without invoicing them. The invoicing is done differently. It goes per bag packed, but I would like to know how much on labour it costs to pack the bags. Thank you.

We generally forward incoming bills for payment to Xero by emailing the bill to bills.b3xxxxxxxxxxxx@xerofiles.com) resulting in them getting queued in 'Draft' - which of course is a beautiful feature. At that point our finance manager will go through and process them to the point of Awaiting Payment (i.e. check them, allocate as appropriate, etc.).

    On occasion there is additional information people in the business may wish to communicate to the finance manager about this (e.g. where it should be allocated to, or other descriptive information/special instructions).
    Presently this requires a separate email to be sent to the finance…

  6. Our new system separately invoices every job we complete. This gets loaded into xero invoices, ATM you can copy these individual jobs and they can be put on to one invoice, great.

    However Xero wont let you add more jobs to this invoice by the same copy facility.
    It only gives you the option of a customer name not an invoice number.
    I would like to be able to add jobs daily to this invoice and send my customer one invoice at the end of the week/month.

When creating an invoice for a customer and applying the “items” that were assigned to the customer it would be very helpful for Xero to apply all of the relevant information that was entered for the item to the invoice. Such as sales price, revenue account etc. Currently the billable expense information that is applied is the “cost price” only, which is not relevant on a customer invoice, and you must set the revenue account for each line item. All of the information is already entered in the inventory for the item.

  8. Ability to update and amend or assist as a user the cash flow prediction analytics function. Currently the cashflow analysis prediction function doesn't pick up a number of our regularly occurring expense invoices and sales invoices (also sometimes it has them coded as monthly rather than fortnightly etc). Result is that for us the cashflow analytics is very inaccurate and then not usable and as user we are unable to amend or update. But think it could be a good tool if we could work with it somehow to update the AI and predictions

    Heya team, with some of the exploration our team were doing we shifted this idea to Under review a few months ago. However, reassessing current priorities as many here may also be interested in our team are currently in the depths of work for enabling the ability to view more statement lines and providing search on the Reconcile screen

    While this may be something we consider developing for later down the line, it's not something we have plans for atm and we'll shift back to Submitted to continue monitoring the interest here. Thanks

  12. When raising a sales invoice for the part exchange of a vehicle there should be a feature to record the entire sale and then debit the A/r account for the amount of cash payment owed and them debit the remaining balance to a tracked inventory account.

    EG.

    CR Sales 8,500

    DR A/R 3,500

    DR Tracked inventory 5,000

  13. When viewing a Contact's record, the activity can appear cluttered with every single change made, including adding planned payment dates, removing planned payment dates, adding invoice notes, editing the contact's record etc.
    It would be good to be able to filter this page to look at say Bills Paid and Invoices Paid only; or Invoice Sent only.
    As it works now, for a very active contact, this can quickly become difficult to navigate.

    Thanks for your feedback and sharing your idea in the forums here, Jo - As part of our work for 'building on beautiful' a contact record is the next page in this space that'll be getting a new look. 

    Though a little too soon to confirm what it will look like, I can say that the page will be cleaner, with filters to help with viewing what is shown on the page.

  14. Statements to highlight overdue invoices. When running a statement there may be multiple invoices listed, it would be handy if the ones that were overdue could highlighted as such. currently we are editing every pdf to let customers know which invoices are overdue and this would be a huge time saver.

  15. Hi all!

    I'm a one man band IT business, and I've just started being put on retainer by a company which is great, however I'm finding accounting for the retainer to be a bit burdensome.

    Currently, my plan is it add the retainer's ammount as a credit note at the beginning of the month, and then somehow nullify any remaining credit at the end. However, I was wondering if it would be possible to add a way of managing retainers separately and more efficiently from credit?

    Or even just having the option to add an expiry date to a credit…

    Great to hear how you're currently using Xero with Credit Notes to manage this process for yourself, Joseph. I've slightly amended your idea for being able to set an expiry for a credit note as it's quite unlikely that we'll look to create a completely new feature for managing retainers. 

    Having a quick look at some of the other ideas raised in community, it looks like some people maybe using SimPro as a means to manage these, alternatively you could explore apps in the ecosystem that may meet your needs. 🙂

  16. Ability to set a default check style per bank account.

    On the operating account the check stock has the check on the top, on the payroll account, the check stock has the check in the middle, and on the sales tax account, the check stock has the check on the bottom. Three separate checking accounts, three separate styles.

    It would be nice to have a setting where you can say, "if a check is generated from the operating account, apply the operating account style."

  18. Search Job name when searching for invoices
    The search function should be consistent across all search. If you can search for job name or part of job name in Search, you should be able to search for job name in Business/Invoices. This brings consistency to the search function.

  19. Entering multiple payments to an Invoice in Xero. Currently it exits the invoice when you enter a part payment in the payment section. I often want to enter several payments for cash received and card payment received on several days and have to keep going back into the invoice for each payment.

    Hi community, we want to update you that we've recently released the ability to include Purchase Orders (PO) through Payable Invoice Summary report. If you expand the side panel on the left of the report and select the 'Outstanding purchase orders summary' report, this will automatically display all Bills, Credit Notes and Purchase Orders and group them by Contact for you. You can use the total row of each contact to infer the remaining balance.

    We're aware this may not directly show the information that you’re asking for here, so we'll keep the status idea as it is and we’ll let you know if there’s any further updates.
