Keep report preference settings
Can the report preferences be set to stay the same until changed?
I am catching up on prior months and any enquiry everty time defaults to current period and I have to change the date every single time.1 voteHi Maresa, as noted in my last update, you can set up the report with the filters as you choose then save the report as Custom this way you'll have access to that report anytime with the same setup. If you'd like to set this as the org's default this is also possible 🙂

Rearrange - Bank Account List
The ability to re-order bank accounts on the Accounting > Bank Accounts screen has been lost on the BETA version I am trialling.
Previously, you could drag and drop or use an up or down arrow to order multiple accounts in a manner most appropriate. Now they are listed in alphabetic order.
Santander is my business current account so it at the bottom of my screen under various accounts that have only monthly transactions not dozens of daily transactions. I’d like to put that account at the top of the screen.
1 voteHi Chris
You can do this right now in the Beta version. Simply click on Customize and drag things around to organize the screen how you like. If you get stuck, feel free to open a case with our Xero Support specialists for assistance.

customer/supplier activity report - Select multiple contacts
Add the feature to run customer/supplier activity report for a range of customers.
1 voteHi 👋, this is already possible however it exists within a different report. You can run either the Receivable or Payable Invoice Detail or Summary reports, where you'll be able to filter and select the contacts you'd like to run the report for. You'll find help for each of these report types on Xero Central - here's one for the Receivable Invoice Details report
You can also add a Source filter if you'd only like to view results for transactions from specific sources e.g Receivable Credit Note, Receivable Invoice

Profit & Loss - Compare tracking categories
It is not possible to run a Profit & Loss report for a business, which can compare 2 options from different tracking categories.
1 voteHi Martin, this is possible with the use of the Layout editor, where you can add multiple Tracking columns. 😊

Draft Bills - approve and next
Wish someone would tidy up the system. Emailing bills direct to Xero is great. However when you approve the Draft Bill you get returned to the main Bill menu. Then you have to fiddle around to get back into Draft bills again to approve the next. Probably not such a pain when you have faster internet than we do. Any suggestions on how to quicken up the process?
1 voteHi Ita, for general tips from the community welcome to post in Xero Central Discussions which is more for peer-to-peer support 😊
If you like to approve one bill after another, try out the quick view option. It looks like an eye icon from the list view.
It'll open up a side preview of the bill, where you can take actions such as Approve & next so can keep moving through this workflow!

Tracking - Bulk edit tracking categories
Better user interface / easier editing of unassigned or incorrect tracking categories on recorded transactions
We spend a lot of time each month updating unassigned or incorrect tracking categories on recorded transactions by having to open each one and editing via drop down menu. Having a quicker way to do this would be great and save a lot of time.
1 voteHi Justin, you can already do this in Xero using Find and Recode! While this is only available to those with the Adviser role, this should allow you to accomplish what's being asked here. If you need an extra hand you can raise a case with our Xero Support specialists. 😊

Job and Project allocations - wages etc.
I work in a "unique" business so some description is required before I get to the crux. A Horse Racing Club. We run up to 20 races a year. The same staff can work at multiple races throughout the year (bar staff, barrier attendants etc). We have a chart of accounts that boggles the mind (as prescribed by Racing NSW so non negotiable) and we also need to allocate race day costs to those "jobs" (very easy to do in MYOB) - including wages. Would like to change to Xero to make life easier HOWEVER cannot allocate race day wages…
3 votesHi Tracy, good news here! You can allocate wages to your Race Days using Xero Projects. By having staff log their hours against a specific project (i.e., a Race Day), their wage costs will be automatically allocated for reporting. You can then add project time into a timesheet. 🙂

Reporting - Customer Invoice Activity report for multiple contacts at once
It would be nice to be able to run a customer invoice activity report for multiple contacts at once to create giving statements for all contacts. It will be tedious to run the report individually for all clients. It would be nice to have the contacts address be added.
This can also be done in Statements if we are able to adjust the results that show on the statement. The activity report is nice because you can just select payments and remove invoices.
1 voteHey Justin, just rounding back on this one. We've had a bit of a test, and this functionality is actually possible with the Receivable Invoice Detail or summary report atm.
Depending on your needs, you'll be able to group and filter this report and can then export at as you would the Customer Invoice Activity report.

Invoice reminders - setting to invoice individual contacts
Auto Invoice Indivdual Clients. In our client list we would like to be able to automatically invoice individuals. As I understand it at the moment you can set reminder in the settings but this seems to apply to all clients. It would be useful if there was an option in the contact when setting up if you want that individual to receive an auto reminder. For example we have tenants who's rent is paid directly from the benefits system so therefore they dont require a reminder, but we also have tenants who pay their rent to us directly and these…
1 voteYou can already do this in Xero Vicky! You can set up invoice reminders for your organisation and then easily turn them off for specific contacts.
We have a bit of help around this in Xero Central, but if you need an extra hand you can raise a case with our Xero Support specialists. 😊

Invoicing - Enable "make one for all" invoicing options for all customers in a group
Enable "Make one for all" invoices for all contacts in a specific group/s
1 voteHi! Did you know it's already possible to do this in Xero?
To create an invoice for a customer group, you can click the drop down arrow next to the Invoice option from the Invoice list view you'll see your Contact groups where you can select which group to create invoices for.
You can find more information on this in our Xero Central help article - Invoice a group of customers. 🙂
To ask questions about using Xero in community you can post or join Discussions on Xero Central. Thanks

Add VAT to Stripe fees that automatically feed into Xero
When the Strip transaction fees come across for UK customers, the VAT box states 'NO VAT'. All Stripe fees are VATable so the VAT box should be '20% VAT'
Currently have to go into each transaction to change this manually.2 votesHi Emily, you can already do this in Xero. When you set up Stripe as a payment service, you can choose an account for your fees to be coded to, and you can also select a default tax rate to be applied automatically. It sounds like a tax rate may not have been selected during your initial setup.
We have a bit of help around this in our Xero Central article on Stripe, but if you need an extra hand you can raise a case with our Xero Support specialists. 😊

Manual Journals - Quick link on the menu banner to add a journal
Add the function to create a new Journal to the '+'.
No need to go on to a journal report and then select add new journal.
2 votesHi Rhys!
Did you know there's already a quick link for adding manual journals?
To see this, you'll need to have the Adviser user role in the organisation.
In the meantime there's more info on manual journals here: Add, import and post manual journals.
If you need any help with this, you can find details on how to raise and update support cases here: Get help from Xero support and here: My cases in Xero Central.

Payables report by planned date
Hi Guys,
Is there an option for us to general a payable report by the planned date?
1 voteHi community, and thank you for confirming Kai! As Kelly mentioned in her previous post, this is already possible in Xero! 🎉
You can run the Payable Invoice Summary report which has the ability to include Planned Date as a column, or you can also choose to group by this field if you'd prefer.🙂

Manual Journals - Formulas in Journal Entries
Allow journal entry fields to have a formula or calculation. it would be much easier when doing manual journal entries.
3 votesHi April! As Kelly mentioned, you can already do this in Xero! You're able to use basic arithmetic functions when entering figures for journal entries. There's a table listing the available operators in this Xero Central article. It also has some instructions on how they can be used.
If you need an extra hand you can raise a case with our Xero Support specialists. 😊

Tracking categories by month
I think it would be useful to update the 'Tracking Summary report' and make it possible to open it by month
2 votesHi team, returning to this post we'll move it to Existing functionality with the ability to use the Blank report and add Tracking columns with the Layout editor as well as set up the report in the style you're after.
Once all set up you could then save the report as Custom to easily access this when you like.

Custom Reports - Hold date range of Date columns in the Layout editor
When saving a custom report for a certain timeframe, when you want to use it to do the next month (for example you are doing a monthly & year to date Profit & Loss account. Your last one saved was February & now you want to do March), you put in the date of March. Xero then changes the last month you had in there last time to the month you just put in, and then changes every month you already had there to one month less & removes the first month you started with. For example, I had a…
5 votesHi team, as mentioned in my last update you can enter a custom date range within the Layout editor so that if the report dates are changed this won't impact a custom date range of the column that you've added.
