  1. Recommendation for the Payslips: Can Xero add some features on the payslips to include employer PAYE Reference. This is quite an important element, and most of the other payroll software provides this information.

    Also, can Xero include some options to include some colour in the payslips, such as changing the grid area to blue colour

  2. Employees cannot enter the number of kilometers to be claimed back in timesheets. A fix is to use the unit Hours instead of Kilometers. However in the Xero Me app they are only allowed to enter up to 24 Km (hours).
    More than 24 units are allowed to be entered directly into Xero but not through the Xero Me app.

    Interesting to hear how our customers are using some of our features to meet their needs. Not really being the original purpose of this feature, we want to be open that this isn't something we have plans for at this time.

    If you're in need of recording tracking for employee's, we'd recommend exploring the use of Xero expenses through which you can record and track employee mileage. With expenses being available with Xero Me now this also means you'd be able to record this via the app.

  3. It makes sense to add Payroll. Businesses in Timor Leste have employees like any other businesses in other countries.

  4. Given that there is already a link between Pay Runs and Timesheets, it would be very helpful if the Pay run could recognise what days have time entered on the timesheet then it would recognise if an employee worked on a Public Holiday and then by default record 1.5 times and add the lieu day to alternative holidays.
    This is something that my clients miss regularly as they expect Xero Payroll to do this for them.

  5. I was preparing ACT Leave return and wanted to get the report on annual leave loading payment to the employees. This is required as the annual leave loading is not part of wages definition for the ACT Leave Levy purposes. However, there is no such report available in xero payroll. Infact, it's an earning for an employee and should pop up separately somewhere in the payroll reports eg. as a pay item. I would request the product team to have a look in to this and make it possible to get the annual leave payment, sick leave payment and leave…

  6. Search by Employee across all of Payroll reports. We have 110 - 120 staff, currently we have to scroll down to find the right employee, can we have a standards search by employee. ie/ start typing their name and then hit enter

    Hi Belinda, to check in on your idea here are you looking for similar to the Pay History report that allows you to search the employee versus drop down and select as you do in the Leave Transactions report? 

  7. If a pay increase is implemented across the board then currently, the only way to amend employees salary amount is to enter each record manually. If you have a large number of employees this is extremely time consuming.

    If a salary scale was used and assigned to employee records, it could be uplifted by a percentage and all records would automatically update.

  8. The option to choose a date to send EE payslips would be a huge help , when you are running multiply payrolls this option would be invaluable. I may run a payroll on the 10th of the month yet payday is 30th so need to remember to log in and send payslips on the 29th. Takes a lot of time up.

  9. Could we please have a flag for a terminated employee who has been paid in an unscheduled pay run (but included in the current pay run).
    Xero continues to create a standard pay for the terminated employee despite the employee having been terminated.
    If the employee was flagged as having been terminated it would prompt the processor to check and potentially eliminate the risk of overpayment.

  10. Currently leave requests must be approved before the relevant pay run is commenced.

    If we discover that leave needs to be added at any point after the pay run is commenced, the entire pay run must be deleted, along with any progress made.

    When processing payroll for businesses, I occasionally discover leave should be included only while I'm actually processing the pay run.

    I'd like to have a clone of the leave creation UI as an option while within the pay run process itself. This would show leave balances for the employee, and only have an option to Approve or…

  11. Automation of Approval for STP filing.
    The ATO requires approval from the client for every STP filing. I would like to see in the Xero/Payroll/Pay Employees/Payrun/Pay Run Options/ drop down menu (where the current options of Download ABA, Email Payslips, and Revert to Draft to also include an option to send approval request to xx@***.com for approval to lodge STP F. It would be good for a copy of the Payroll Activity Details be sent to the client, with the request for approval.

It would save a lot of errors if you had an employment type option where once 'casual' was selected as a type, you could only then enter what was needed for casual staff and leave/holiday pay would automatically change accordingly. I have anumber of clients who, when entering new casual staff, inadvertently add hours per day and days per week which then starts the accrual of annual leave and unless they tick the little box under holiday pay, the employee is not paid their 8%.

    Hi team, great to get your feedback and support through the idea here. We appreciate these challenges with the current functionality when setting up a casual employee. We’ve started some work around enabling Xero customers to select Employment Types such as casual. While in early stages at present we’ll keep you updated on progress for this here.

  13. Before the update there were two greyed out boxes, when hovered over revealed the employee full salary and earnings to date - this was very handy when the salaries are based on an hourly rate. Where has this function gone? and can we have it back please.

  15. Can we please have a report that will breakdown annual leave and leave loading. When there is a lot of employees that take leave for a quarter is time consuming to have to drill down into each employee to work out the leave loading to ensure that the SGC amount is reconciled.

  16. Some employees have payment information (bank account), and others do not at a client account. The client does not use the bank account information for the payment to employees, then, this information is not compulsory for the client at the moment.
    I found a wrong information of the payment bank account information of an employee and tried to delete it, however, Xero says:
    The account name is required, and
    The account number is required, then,
    It is not possible to save 'nil' information.

    We appreciate the interest and rationale in wanting to be able to delete an employee's bank information.

    While this may be a function we look to explore in the long-term we want to be upfront that this is not something we've currently got planned.

    In the meantime, you can replace the employee bank account details with fake/dummy information instead.

  18. When negotiating salaries It can be beneficial to express an amount net of tax and super. Xero does not calculate this other than imputing different amounts of gross wages to achieve a net figure close to required net amount.
    Maybe something you could add to future upgrades.

  19. We have requested Downloadable P11's to be made available so we can correct a mistake a previous Xero payroll provider made.
    This is not available in Xero which is causing considerable inconvenience and a lot more manual work.

    This would be a really good idea if this was brought into the payroll package.
